Purpose: The Mulliken's method is a one of the very excellent technique to correction of the unilateral cleft lip. It could decrease the need of additional operation and second operation by the early simultaneous correction of unilateral cleft lip and nasal deformity, at a time. Numerous procedures were advocated for the correction of nasal deformity, but with general dissatisfaction of the results, it became obvious that no one procedure is the ideal one. The authors have been operating on unilateral cleft lip by Mulliken's method and long term follow - up of postoperative result was evaluated. Methods: The authors have done long term follow - up of result in the 75 cases unilateral cleft lip patient, during 1 ~ 7 years. That was repaired by simultaneous correction of cleft lip and nasal deformity by Mulliken's method at the period from June, 1997 to December, 2007. The patients were unilateral complete cleft lip 39 cases, unilateral incomplete cleft lip 36 cases. In the severe complete cleft lip cases, lip adhesion operation was done before definite operation. The mean age of unilateral cleft lip operation was 3.2 months. Five anthropometric parameters, which were upper lip, cutaneous lip and vermilion mucosa height, nasal tip protrusion, columella length were measured by Sliding Vernier Caliper. The anthropometric analysis was performed preoperative and postoperative at 6 months, 3, 5 and 7 years and the results were com pared with those of age - matched, normal children. T - tests were used to analyze the differences between the measurements. Results: Long - term postoperative results were evaluated by anthropometrically. Most patients showed adequate growth of upper lip height, vermilion mucosa height and columella length. But nasal tip protrusion was relatively short compare with normal value. Incomplete cleft lip group was nearly normal growth results than complete cleft lip group. Conclusion: In conclusion, we could make harmonious Cupid's bow, natural philtrum and lip, appropriate nasal shape by Mulliken's method. But nasal tip protrusion was under the normal values on complete and incomplete group. And incomplete group was more good results than complete group. We have experienced repair of cleft lip by Mulliken's method with 75 cases of unilateral cleft lip patients and conclude that it was very useful and good method.
This study deals with forest soil characteristics and their effects on the trafficability of logging vehicles. The study area is the national experimental forest located in Kwangnung. This site has 20m length and is equally divided by 5 surveying ranges with 4m width, on which a tractor(FIATAGRI) attached with logging boogie can drive in 4 driving types, namely 1time-return unload, 1time-return with load of 780-790kg weight of 3 logs, 5 and 10times-return with same load. After one driving type on all surveying ranges, the soil hardness is surveyed 5 times with 3 several type tools, SHM-1 type, lang penetrometer(L-PNTM), and clegg impact soil tester(CIST). A disturbed degree of cover vegetation and sliding conditions of vehicle are also observed. As results, the soil type of the test site was SC by USCS and dry brown forest soil. The cover vegetation is gotten trambled under driving after 3-5 times-return, shrubs leaves are fully fallen and their bark are peeled, and after 10 times-return the cover vegetations were nearly disappeared. The test vehicle has neither slided nor was overthrown. The wheel tracks in the 1-3 ranges, of which unit weight(gd, gt) is high and soil moisture content(MC) is low, were only 1-2cm deep, but those in the 4-5 ranges, of which the gd, gt is low and the MC is high, were 5-7cm deep. In the soil hardness test, which was established in 5 test ranges by types of driving, the more driving times, the higher the hardness. The soil hardness surveyed by L-PNTM has changed slowly and that surveyed by SHM-1 type has risen sharply. In the ranges with higher specific gravity(Gs), higher unit weight, lower MC and higher liquid limit(LL) and plasticity index(PI) was the soil hardness high and the trafficability was good. In the ranges with opposite conditions, also in the ranges of the lower soil hardness, the trafficability must be not good, because the wheel track may be deep. The results from CIST attached with 4kg hammer was not better than expected. So it is recommended to use CIST with 2.5kg or 0.5kg hammer.
Suction buckets have been widely used for offshore structures such as anchors for floating facilities, and the foundations of offshore wind energy turbines. However, the design guidelines for suction buckets have not been clearly suggested. Therefore, this study performed the numerical analysis by using ABAQUS (2010) to evaluate bearing capacities and load-movement behaviors of the suction bucket in NC clay. For the numerical analysis, the depth ratio L/D (L=embedded length of skirt; D=diameter of a bucket) was varied from 0.25 to 1.0. The analysis results showed that the L/D ratio has a significant effect on the bearing capacity, and the vertical and horizontal capacities respectively increased by about 40% and 90%, when L/D ratio increased from 0.25 to 1.0. At the vertical loading, the bucket showed the similar failure mode with a deep foundation, so the shaft and toe resistances can be separately evaluated. At the horizontal loading, the bucket with L/D=O.25 showed the sliding failure mode and the bucket with $L/D{\geq}0.5$ showed the rotational failure mode.

For the design of large scale rock slope which has complex formations and geological structures, generally, insufficiency of geotechnical investigations and laboratory tests are the main factors of slope failures doling construction. In such case, remedial measures to stabilize slope should be selected and applied through reliable investigations and analysis considering the geotechnical characteristics. The rock slope of this study, one of the largest cut slopes in Korea with a length of 520.0 m and maximum height of 122.0 m consists of metasedimentary rocks. And a case study on the causes of large-scale rock slope failure was carried out by analysis of landslides history and site investigations during construction. When the slope with the original design slope of 0.7: 1.0 (H:V) was partially constructed, the slope failure was occurred due to the factors such as poor conditions of rocks (weathered zone, coaly shale and fault shear zone), various discontinuities (joints, foliations and faults), severe rain storm and so on. The types of failures were rockfall, circular failure, wedge failure and the combination of these types. So, the design of slope was changed three times to ensure long-term slope stability. This paper is intended to be a useful reference for analyzing and estimating the stability of rock slopes whose site conditions are similar to those of this study site such as geological structures and geotechnical properties.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare changes in frictional resistance between the bracket and wire under dry and wet conditions according to a change in moment. Methods: A stainless steel bracket of $0.022"{\times}0.028"$ slot, and $0.019"{\times}0.025"$ stainless steel, beta-titanium, and nickel-titanium wires were used. A 10 mm length lever was attached to the test (sliding) brackets to generate a moment. The experimental model was designed to allow tipping until contacts were established between the wire and the mesiodistal edges of the bracket slot. The moment was generated by suspending a 100 g or 200 g weight on the end of the lever. The moments applied were $1000g{\cdot}mm\;(100g{\times}10mm)\;and\;2000g{\cdot}mm\;(200g{\times}10mm)$. The test brackets were ligated with elastomeric ligature for a constant ligation force and the fixed brackets were ligated with stainless steel ligature. Brackets were moved along the wire by means of an universal testing machine, and maximum frictional resistances were recorded. Results: Stainless steel wire showed least frictional resistance and there was no significant difference between beta-titanium and nickel-titanium except at $2000g{\cdot}mm$ moment in wet conditions. Frictional resistance of all wires increased as the moment increased from $1000g{\cdot}mm\;to\;2000g{\cdot}mm$. Under wet conditions, the frictional resistance of stainless steel wires increased in both $1000g{\cdot}mm\;and\;2000g{\cdot}mm$ moment conditions, but frictional resistance of nickel-titanium and beta-titanium increased only in $2000g{\cdot}mm$ conditions. Conclusion: These results indicated that various conditions influence on frictional resistance. Therefore, laboratory studies of frictional resistance should simulate clinical situation.
Investigations were conducted to prevent entrance of Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) with very fine mesh nets. B. tabaci vectors tomato yellow leaf curl virus in tomatoes. B. tabaci could be completely prevented to penetrate into an 83 mesh net, though few of them passed the 60 mesh net. An independent 60 mesh net cage was built within one of the three interconnected common plastic greenhouse ($21.0{\times}18.3m$) in order to find its usefulness as a crop protection tool from insect pests. TYLCV infected tomato plants were not detected, though a few eggs of B. tabaci and mines of Liriomyza trifolii (Burgess) were detected locally at the entrance of the sliding door. There were practically no significant differences between treatments of nets and the conventional plant height, leaf length and width, number of floret clusters, sugar brix, and product yield. In viewpoints of commercialization, it could be considered highly prospectful to apply to the nets to glasshouses or other greenhouses in which the growing period of crops is long, if the nets were used in the openings of sides, ceilings, and entrances of the greenhouse. However, it might be necessary to take preventive measures for occurrences of insect pests living in soil, temporarily or permanently, as well as high humidity diseases.

The conventional model did not take momentum conservation into consideration when the electron absorbs and emits the photons. II-ray provides momentum conservations on any directions of the entering photons, and also the electrons have radial momentum conservations and fully elastic bouncing between two atoms, in the new atom model. Conventional atom model must be criticized on the following four points. (1) Natural motions between positive and negative entities are not circular motions but linear going and returning ones, fur examples sexual motion, tidal motion, day and night etc. Because the radius of hydrogen atom's electron orbit is the order of 10$^{-11}$ m and the radia of the nucleons in the nucleus are the order of 10$^{-l4}$m and then the converging $\pi$-gamma rays to the nucleus have so great circular momentum, the electron can not have a circular motion. We can say without doubt that any elementary mass particle can have only linear motion, because of the $\pi$-rays' hindrances, near the nucleus. (2) Potential energy generation was neglected when electron changes its orbit from outer one to inner one. The h v is the kinetic energy of the photo-electron. The total energy difference between orbits comprises kinetic and potential energies. (3) The structure of the space must be taken into consideration because the properties of the electron do not change during the transition from outer orbit to inner one even though it produces photon. (4) Total energy conservation law applies to the energy flow between mind and matter because we daily experiences a interconnection between mind and body. Any magnet absorbs n-rays to S pole and sends out the $\pi$-rays from N pole. Proton are constructed with the closed n-rays quantum-mechanically. The crystallizing n-bonding makes two $\pi$-far infrared rays of one wave length between two protons if two $\pi$-rays are supplied to each proton. It is easily done for a $\pi$-ray to be absorbed to a proton if there is a parallel magnetic flow to the blood flow because a $\pi$-ray advances axially under a magnetic field and a proton looks like a sphere. A axially advancing disk-like $\pi$-ray can meet more easily the coming spheres than from the other directions. The blood crystals stimulate the autonomous nerves on the blood vessels during the flow by their mechanical sliding collisions. SM n-ray meridian therapy and SMACN $\pi$-ray meridian therapy show the stimulation of blood flow and also combinational experiment between SM $\pi$-ray meridian therapy and n-ray psycho-physics acupuncture shows more clearly that magnet is forcing to make $\pi$-rays absorbed to the nucleons.s.ons.

By changing from ballasted track to concrete slab track, new type railroad subgrade is strongly required to satisfy strict regulations for displacement limitations of concrete slab track. In this study, sensitivity analysis was performed to assess the design characteristics of new type reinforced railroad subgrade, which could minimize residual settlement after track construction and maintain its function as a permanent railway roadbed under large cyclic load. With developed design program, the safety analysis (circular slip failure, overturning, and sliding) and the evaluation of internal forces developed in structural members (wall and reinforcement) were performed according to vertical installation spacing and stiffness of short and long geotextile reinforcement. Based on this study, we could evaluate the applicabilities of 0.4 H short geogrid length with 0.4 m vertical installation spacing of geotextile as reinforcement and what the ground conditions are for the reinforced railroad subgrade. And also, we could grasp design characteristics of the reinforced railroad subgrade, such as the importance of connecting structure between wall and reinforcement, boundary conditions allowing displacement at wall ends to minimize maximum bending moment of wall.

Several foundation soil conditions below a homogeneous sand slope were assumed and slope stability analyses were conducted to determine the soil condition, in which a stabilizing pile can be used to increase the factor of safety against sliding. The assumed heights of the sand slope were 5m and 10m. For a 5m slope height, a stabilizing pile can be used in the foundation soil with a $15^{\circ}$ internal friction angle and a cohesion of 10kPa. For a 10m slope height, a stabilizing pile can be used in the foundation soil with a $20^{\circ}$ internal friction angle and a cohesion of 10kPa and a stabilizing pile can be used in the foundation soil with a $0^{\circ}$ internal friction angle and 40kPa, 45kPa and 50kPa of cohesion. According to the analysis results of stabilizing pile-reinforced foundation soil, the length of the stabilizing pile and magnitude of the maximum bending moment were strongly affected by the internal friction angle of the foundation soil. The lengths of stabilizing pile, for an internal friction angle of $0^{\circ}$ were 4.6, 8.0 times greater than those with an internal friction angle of $5^{\circ}$. The magnitude of the maximum bending moment of the stabilizing pile for an internal friction angle of $0^{\circ}$ was 24.6 times greater than that for an internal friction angle of $5^{\circ}$. Practically, a stabilizing pile cannot be used for foundation soil with an internal friction angle of $0^{\circ}$. Considering the results derived from this study, the effects of a stabilizing pile can be maximized for soft foundation soil that is embanked with a slow construction speed.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the micro-implant height and anterior hook height to prevent maxillary six anterior teeth from lingual tipping and extruding during space closure. We manufactured maxillary dental arch form, bracket and wire, using the computer aided three-dimensional finite element method. Bracket was $.022'{\times}.028'$ slot size and attached to tooth surface. Wire was $.019'{\times}.025'$ stainless steel and $.032'{\times}.032'$ stainless steel hook was attached to wire between lateral incisor and canine. Length of hook was 8mm and force application points were marked at intervals of In. Four micro-implants were implanted on alveolar bone between second premolar and first molar. The heights of them were 4, 6, 8, 10mm starting from wire. We analyzed initial displacement of teeth by various force application point applying force of 150gm to each micro-implant and anterior hook. The conclusions of 4his study are as the following : 1. When the micro-implant height was 4m and the anterior hook height was 5mm and below, anterior teeth were tipped lingually. When the anterior hook height was 6mm and above, anterior teeth were tipped labially. 2. When the micro-implant height was 6mm and the anterior hook height was 6mm and below, the anterior teeth were tipped lingually. When the anterior hook height was 6m and above, the anterior teeth were tipped labially. But lingual tipping of anterior teeth decreased and labial tipping Increased when the micro-implant height was 6mm, compared with 4mm micro-implant height. 3. When the micro-implant height was 8mm and the anterior hook height was 2mm, the anterior teeth were tipped lingually. When the anterior hook height was 3mm and above, labial tipping movement of the anterior teeth increased proportionally. 4. When the micro-implant height was 10mm and the anterior hook height was 2mm and above, labial tipping of the anterior teeth increased proportionally. 5. As the anterior hook height increased, aterior teeth were tipped more labially. But extrusion occurred on canine and premolar area because of the increase of wire distortion. 6. Movement of the posterior teeth was tipped distally during maxillary six anterior teeth retraction using micro-im plant because of the friction between bracket and were Based on the results of this study, we could predict the pattern of the tooth movement according to position of micro-implant and height of anterior hook. It seems that we can find the force application point for proper tooth movement in consideration of inclination of anterior anterior teeth, periodontal condition, overjet and overbite
