회전지능보의 능동진동제어 (Active Vibration Control of Slewing Smart Beam)

  • This research is concerned with the active vibration control of slewing smart structures subjected to rotating disturbance. When cantilever beam rotates about axes perpendicular to the undeformed beam's longitudinal axis, it experiences inertial loading. Hence, the beam vibrates after the slewing ends. In this paper, the analytical model for a single slewing flexible beam with surface bonded piezoelectric sensor and actuator is developed using the Hamilton's principle with discretization by the assumed mode method. The theoretial model is verified by the experimental open loop frequency response data. The controller is designed for residual vibration suppression after slewing. The designed cotroller is a positive position feedback (PPF) controller for controlling the first mode vibration.

  • This research is concerned with the validation of the modeling technique and controller design for slewing beam structures. When cantilever beam rotates about axes perpendicular to the undeformed beam's longitudinal axis, it experiences inertial loading. Hence, the beam vibrates from the initial stage of slewing. In this paper, the analytical model for a single slewing flexible beam with surface bonded piezoelectric sensor and actuator is developed using the Hamilton's principle with discretization by the assumed mode method. Comparisons with the theoretical model are made based upon the frequency responses and time responses. A new factor called the coupling coefficient is introduced to incorporate the discrepancies between the theoretical and experimental results. The slewing is achieved by applying the PID control, which is found to be less sensitive to vibrations. The vibrations are controlled by PPF controller, which is found to be effective in suppressing residual vibrations after slewing. The vibrations occurred during slewing is difficult to control because the piezoceramic actuator is not powerful enough to overcome inertial loadings.

  • This research is concerned with the modeling technique and active vibration controller design for slewing smart structures. It is found from experiments that the theoretical model lacks the frictional effect. The frictional effect is incorporated into the equations of motion by employing the coupling factor. Theoretical and experimental results show problems arising in modeling and controller design.

  • Vibration condition monitoring at low rotational speeds is still a challenge. Acoustic emission (AE) is the most used technique when dealing with low speed bearings. At low rotational speeds, the energy induced from surface contact between raceway and rolling elements is very weak and sometimes buried by interference frequencies. This kind of issue is difficult to solve using vibration monitoring. Therefore some researchers utilize artificial damage on inner race or outer race to simplify the case. This paper presents vibration signal analysis of low speed slewing bearings running at a low rotational speed of 15 rpm. The natural damage data from industrial practice is used. The fault frequencies of bearings are difficult to identify using a power spectrum. Therefore the relatively improved method of empirical mode decomposition (EMD), ensemble EMD (EEMD) is employed. The result is can detect the fault frequencies when the FFT fail to do it.

복합좌표계 시스템의 선회동역학에 관한 해석적 연구 (Analytical Study on the Slewing Dynamics of Hybrid Coordinate Systems)

  • 본 논문에서는 선회모드와 구조모드를 가지는 복합좌표계 시스템의 선회동역학을 시간유한요소법을 이용하여 전개할 때에 발생하는 수치적 문제점을 극복할 수 있는 해석적 해법을 제안하였다. 시간유한요소법을 이용한 복합좌표계 시스템의 동역학은 선회모드와 구조모드가 서로 연성된 두 개의 행렬미분방정식으로 전개될 수 있음을 보였다. 공간전파관계식을 시간영역 모드좌표계로 변환하고, 각 시간모드에 대한 해석적 공간전파관계식을 유도하였다. 경계조건의 적용을 통해 선회각에 대한 해석적 관계식을 구하였으며, 이를 이용함으로써 각 모드에 대한 공간 특성치를 구하였다. 수치 예제를 통하여 기존의 상태천이행렬을 이용한 해법과 비교함으로써 제안된 해석적 해법을 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • 대부분의 철강산업 기계 등에 설치되어 사용되는 선회베어링은 교체를 위한 정확한 정비계획이 필요하기 때문에 저속회전체의 선회베어링에 대한 진동 상태감시가 매우 중요하게 되었다. 지금까지 음향방출(AE)법이 저속베어링의 상태감시에 가장 많이 사용되는 기술이고 몇몇의 경우는 진동을 사용한다. 음향방출을 사용하는 일반적인 이유는 저속에서 구름요소와 결함위치 사이의 충격에 의하여 발생되는 신호가 약하고 때때로 노이즈나 다른 간섭 주파수에 결함신호가 묻혀 검출이 어렵기 때문이다. 따라서 쉽게 특정 결함에 대한 결함주파수의 동정을 위하여 몇몇 연구자들은 충격에너지를 증가시키기 위하여 인위적으로 미리 정해진 길이, 넓이와 깊이의 결함을 베어링의 내, 외부 레이스에 인가하기도 한다. 이 논문에서는 15 rpm에서 운전하는 저속 선회베어링의 진동신호에 EMD와 EEMD를 적용하였고 논문에서 사용한 진동결함 신호는 국내 산업체에서 공급받은 것이다. 이 논문에서는 베어링결함 주파수 동정을 위하여 EEMD를 사용하여 결함신호의 FFT처리 결과를 입증하고 설명하였다.

A Robust Control Approach for Maneuvering a Flexible Spacecraft

  • In the paper, a robust control mechanism is presented to maneuver a flexible spacecraft with the deflection reduction during large slewing operation at the same time. For deflection reduction and maneuvering of the flexible spacecraft, a control mechanism is developed with the application of stochastic optimal sliding-mode control, a linear tracking model and input shaping technique. A start-coast-stop maneuver is employed as a slewing strategy. It is shown that the control mechanism with he strategic maneuver results in better performance and is more efficient than rigid-body-like maneuver, by applying to the Spacecraft Control Laboratory Experiment (SCOLE) system in a space environment.

슬라이딩 평면을 이용한 유연우주비행체의 강인 선회제어 (Robust Slewing Control of A Flexible Space Structure using Sliding Surface)

  • 본 논문에서는 유연우주비행체의 강인 선회기동을 위한 슬라이딩 모드 제어기법에 대해 연구하였다. 본 연구에서는 유연우주비행체의 1축 선회기동을 위한 선회목표각, 목표각속도 및 중앙동체와 유연부착물 사이에 작용하는 내부 반력 모멘트를 포함하는 슬라이딩 평면을 설계하였다. Lyapunov 제어기법과 비교한 결과 두 제어기법 모두 공칭 시스템에 대한 명령 추종성을 확인하였으며, 특히 슬라이딩 모드 제어기법의 적용결과 시스템 파라메터의 변동 및 외란의 영향에도 좋은 제어결과를 얻을 수 있음을 확인하였다. 1축 선회제어 결과를 확장하여 임의의 3축 선회기동을 수행할 수 있는 슬라이딩 모드 제어기를 설계하였다. 3축 선회기동 제어를 위해 쿼터니언을 이용하여 비행체의 자세를 결정하였고, 3개의 축 각각에 대해 설계된 슬라이딩 평면으로부터 선회기동시 발생하는 각 축간의 커플링 효과를 고려하여 제어기를 설계하였다. 설계된 제어기는 효과적인 3축 선회기동을 수행할 수 있음을 수치 시뮬레이션을 통해 보여주고 있다.

  • In this paper, an LPM controller using microprocessor was implemented and adopted Microstep method to control the LPW. In Microstep method, current waveform is sinusoidal not square. This method is characterized by less vibrating, less noisy, and more precise position control. Also, we simulate the static thrust characteristics for each waveform. The experiment was performed according to the mechanical vibration at the acceleration mode and slewing mode. The current tracks reference sinusoidal waveform well and stability was improved as we expected. Therefore, the possibility of the open loop position control was proposed.

Flexural-Torsional Coupled Vibration of Slewing Beams Using Various Types of Orthogonal Polynomials

  • Dynamic behavior of flexural-torsional coupled vibration of rotating beams using the Rayleigh-Ritz method with orthogonal polynomials as basis functions is studied. Performance of various orthogonal polynomials is compared to each other in terms of their efficiency and accuracy in determining the required natural frequencies. Orthogonal polynomials and functions studied in the present work are: Legendre, Chebyshev, integrated Legendre, modified Duncan polynomials, the special trigonometric functions used in conjunction with Hermite cubics, and beam characteristic orthogonal polynomials. A total of 5 cases of beam boundary conditions and rotation are studied for their natural frequencies. The obtained natural frequencies and mode shapes are compared to those available in various references and the results for coupled flexural-torsional vibrations are especially compared to both previously available references and with those obtained using NASTRAN finite element package. Among all the examined orthogonal functions, Legendre orthogonal polynomials are the most efficient in overall CPU time, mainly because of ease in performing the integration required for determining the stiffness and mass matrices.
