경쟁적 전력시장에서 한계손실계수 적용시 기준모선 선정에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Selection of Slack Bus at Application of Marginal Loss-Factor in a Competitive Electricity Market)

  • Marginal Loss Factor(MLF) is represented as the sensitivity of transmission loss, which is computed from the change of the generation at slack bus by the change of the load at the arbitrary bus. The MLF dependent on the selection of slack bus is one of the key factors affecting nodal pricing, Genco's profits, social welfare(SW) and Nash Equilibrium in a competitive electricity market. This paper addresses the methodology of slack bus selection by using Cournot model of Cost Based Pool market. Numerical results from sample cases show that the slack bus of MLF of the highest average is beneficial from the view points of SW.

위상각 기준모선의 이동에 의한 Slack 모선을 포함한 모든 발전기의 Penalty 계수 계산방법 (Generator Penalty Factor Calculation including Slack Bus by Reference Angle Re-Specification)

  • ln this paper, a method by which penalty factors of all generators including slack bus can be directly derived is presented. With a simple re-assignment of angle reference bus to a bus where no generation exists, penalty factors for slack bus is obtained without any physical assumption. While previous Jacobian-based techniques for generator penalty factor calculation have been derived with basis upon reference bus, proposed method are not dependent on reference bus and calculated penalty factors can be substituted directly into the general ELD equation to compute the economic dispatch. Equations for system loss sensitivity, penalty factors and optimal generation allocation are solved simultaneously in normal power flow computation.

  • In this paper, a new method for calculating the penalty factors of all generators including the slack bus is presented. A simple transposition of the angle reference, from the conventional slack bus to another bus where no generation exists, enables the derivation of the loss sensitivity of the slack bus. Penalty factors are obtained without any physical assumption through a simple substitution of the bus loss sensitivities. Penalty factors calculated by proposed method are not dependent on reference bus and can also be directly substituted into the general ELD equation for computing the optimal dispatch. Equations for loss sensitivities, Penalty factors and ELD are calculated simultaneously in normal power flow computation. A case study on a test system has proved the effectiveness of the proposed' angle reference transposition' method.

중앙버스전용차로상에서 결정적 지체모형을 이용한 능동형 버스우선신호의 최적 신호시간 산출방안 (Optimal Signal Times for Active Bus Signal Priority on Median Bus Lane Using Deterministic Delay Model)

  • 버스우선신호는 도로상에서 버스에 물리적, 운영적 통행우선권을 부여하는 방법으로 신호 교차로에서 버스의 정시성 및 신속성, 서비스 개선을 통해 승객의 수송 효율과 도로 교통의 수송 용량을 높일 수 있는 대중교통 우선정책 기법이다. 본 연구에서는 결정적 지체모형의 하나인 HCM모형을 이용하여 중앙버스전용차로가 존재하는 독립교차로에서 능동형 버스우선신호 제공 방법론을 제시하였다. 능동형 버스우선신호의 기법 중 Early green과 Green extension 기법을 이용하여 버스가 이용하지 않는 비우선현시의 여유녹색시간을 버스가 이용하는 우선현시에 재분배하는 버스우선신호 방법론을 제시하였다. 또한, 이 방법론을 통하여 비우선현시의 여유녹색시간을 우선현시에 재분배 하였을 때 차량당 지체 및 사람당 지체가 어떻게 변화하는지에 대하여 분석하고 여유녹색시간의 민감도 분석을 통해 여유녹색시간이 정확한 값인지 알아보았다. 그 결과 교차로 전체의 차량당 지체는 다소 증가하고 사람당 지체는 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 민감도 분석결과 여유녹색시간의 변화가 30%미만일 경우 지체의 큰 차이는 없었으나 30%이상일 경우 버스우선신호의 효과가 떨어지는 것으로 분석 되었다.

  • In the conventional power flow calculations, the slack bus is assumed to undertake the total transmission loss for the convenience of numerical computation. This is an unrealistic assumption because, in real power system, the transmission loss is supplied by all the generators and makes the power flow calculation results somewhat distorted. This paper proposes a new loss redistribution algorithm that can reduce the distortion of power flow results. In the proposed method, the system power loss redistribution algorithm is added to the conventional power flow equations and jacobian elements that are related the real power are newly constructed. In each iteration step, the power output of each generator is updated to consider the effect of calculated total power losses. Finally the usefulness of proposed method are tested through the some appropriate case studies.

  • The power flow calculations are the most important and powerful tools in the various studies of power system engineering. Newton-Raphson method, among the various power flow calculation techniques, is normally used due to its rapidness of numerical convergency. In the conventional Newton-Raphson method, however, there are some unrealistic assumptions, in which all the system power losses are considered to be supplied by the slack bus generator. Introducing the system power loss formula and augmenting the conventional Newton-Raphson power flow method, we can relieve the unrealistic assumption and improve the performance of power flow calculation. In this study, A new approach for handling the losses and augmenting the conventional power flow problem is proposed. The proposed method estimates the increamental changes of active power on each generation bus with respect to the change of total system power losses and the estimated value are used to update the slack bus power. If some studies for more theoritical investigations and verifications are followed, the proposed approach will show some improvement of the conventional method and give lots of contribution to increase the performance of power flow techniques in power systems engineering.

Accurate Transmission Loss Allocation Algorithm Based on the Virtual Transaction Strategy: Comparison of Path-integral with Discrete Integral Methods

  • This paper presents a new algorithm to determine accurate bus-wise transmission loss allocation utilizing path-integrals dictated by the transaction strategy. For any transaction strategy, the total sum of the allocated transmission losses of all buses is equal to the actual loss given by the AC power-flow calculation considering the distributed slack. In this paper, the bus-wise allocation of the transmission loss is calculated by integrating the differential loss along a path determined by the transaction strategy. The proposed algorithm is also compared with Galiana's method, which is the well-known transmission loss allocation algorithm based on integration. The performance of the proposed algorithm is evaluated by case studies carried out on the WSCC 9-bus, IEEE 14-bus, New England 39-bus, and IEEE 118-bus systems. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is fast and accurate with a large step size.

  • This paper presents a simple method for evaluating of voltage stability using the line flow equation. Line flow equations ($P_{ij}$, $Q_{ij}$) are comprised of state variable, $V_i$, ${\delta}_i$, $V_j$ and ${\delta}_j$, and line parameter, r and x. Using the feature of polar coordinate, these becomes one equation with two variables, $V_i$ and $V_j$. Moreover, if bus j is slack or generater bus, which is specified voltage magnitude, it becomes one equation with one variable $V_i$, that is, may be formulated with the second-order equation for $V_i^2$. Therefore, multiple load flow solutions may be obtained with simple computation, and the formulated equation used for approximately evaluating of voltage stability limit considering line flow sensitivity. The proposed method was validated to 2-bus and IEEE 6-bus system.

Improvement of Variable Renewable Energy Penetration of Stand-Alone Microgrid Hosting Capacity by Using Energy-Storage-System Based on Power Sensitivity

  • Recently, the demand for high penetration of variable renewable energy (VRE) penetration in a power system is increased. In consequence, distribution systems including microgrids confront the increased installation of VRE-based distributed generation. Despite of the high demand of VRE-based distributed generation in a distribution system, the installation of photovoltaic (PV) system in a distribution system has been restricted by various problems. In other words, the hosting capacity for high VRE penetration in a distribution system is limited. This paper analyzes the improvements of hosting capacity VRE penetration of stand-alone microgrid (SAMG) with energy storage system (ESS) by considering virtual-slack (VS) control based on power sensitivity. With the pre-defined power sensitivity, the ESS operates as virtual slack in the SAMG by controlling its bus voltage and phase angle indirectly. Therefore, the ESS enables the increase of VRE penetration in the SAMG. The proposed VS control is realized by analyzing the ESS as a virtual slack in power flow analysis based on power sensitivity. Then its validity is demonstrated with the case study on the SAMG in South Korea with practical data.
