  • The causes of disease as well as the mechanisms that result in the presenting signs and symptoms of patients are basic elements in oriental medicine. The location of the disease is the region on which the cause and the nature of the disease acts. Syndrome reflects the cause of the disease and the pathological change and the location of the disease. It is customary to classify the location of the disease into two major categories. First is based on the exterior and interior and the second is based on the five internal organs. Exterior syndrome is caused by the invasion of exopathogen in skin and hair, channels and collaterals. Interior syndrome refers to the syndrome located deeply in the interior of the body such as five internal organs. The location of the disease is very important to distinguish different syndromes in the diagnosis and the treatment of a disease.

  • This paper presents an analysis of SAR(Specific Absorption Rate) distribution characteristics in a head model using FDTD(Finite Difference Time Domain). In this study human head was modelled in four elements-layered structure, consisting of skin, fat, skull and brain. To calculate the electromagnetic fields wihtin the head model, FDTD method was used. In the FDTD method, the electromagnetic wave is analyzed by solving a Maxwell's equations repeatedly. For the calculation, distance between power source and head model increased by 10[m]. Power density and incident electric field intensity were calculated. Based on the incident electric field, the program which calaculated internal electric fields intensity and SAR calculation of the head model were developed. The results of developed program using FDTD were compared with those of a commericial programs, which showed the availability and usefulness of the suggested scheme in this paper.

  • It opposition to visual luxury of Post modern Architecture a new tendency characterized as 'simplicity' emerged in architecture. It seems clear that such a tendency so called Minimal Architecture has risen as a reaction to the surfeit of sign and the mixture of languages generated by postmodernism. This new simplicity is also related to the tradition of Modern Architecture and the Minimal Art Movement is 1960's. They adopted simple is also related to the tradition of Modern Architecture and the Minimal Art Movement is 1960's. They adopted simple primary Volume to avoid the main fluence on the already chaotic urban environment As a result a strong monumentality is achieved. The main interests for 'minimal' architects seem to be the making of simple structure and the repetition of modular elements to achieve an economic and efficient construction method. Transparent and honest expression is preferred instead of attaching another ornament skin on to the skeleton of the architecture.

  • With lots of portable convergence mobile device coming out into the market, companies are now facing to take up consumers' needs. The products are popularized by 'skin function' in the field of hardware, whereas software wise, it's still a long way to follow up the needs. It's been hypothetically known that the Image of Sensitivity Adjective chosen by the users can increase the brand image and value creating capabilities through visualization. We collect the 'adjective' of images of recent products first and on that base, we sort out the most popular 'adjective' through grouping, then we actualize the image with that sample collective body. Then through analyses of the image, we find how they are correlated and what their elements are with the result.

  • Impedance matching characteristics of planar type inductively coupled plasma sources are investigated utilizing the previously reported two-dimensional theory[1] of the anomalous skin effect. Two types of matching networks are considered, and the values of the circuit elements are expressed as functions of various reactor parameter. Also, two cases of perfect and imperfect matching conditions are considered and the functional dependence of the values of matching capacitance and reflection coefficient on the various reactor parameters are investigated using the present circuit model.

  • The design theory of roller gate has been systematized laying more emphasis on practical formulas than theoretical ones and the design procedure of the existing gate facilites is reviewed and analyaed on economical viewpoint and safety factor. The design theory of timoshenko, the thechnical standards for hydraulic gate and penstock of Japan, and the design standards for waterworks structures of Germany are applied to the study of optimal design of a gate leaf. In this study, gate leaf which is now being operated for water control at the seadike, estuary dam and reservoir dam are adopted as a mode, and a new design method by the computer is proposed through the variation of design elements within practical ranges. As a result, safety factor and economical design can be made by using T-beams to the horizontal and vertical beam of the gate leaf instead of H-beams used in the existing seadike roller gate at Asan, and total weight of gate leaf is reduced by the present optimization.

  • 'Superflat' is a hugely influential contemporary art movement founded by Takashi Murakami. The concept of Superflat art is based on the notion that there exists in contemporary Japanese culture an inherent inclination for two-dimensionality devoid of perspective and hierarchy with all elements existing equally and simultaneously. The theory is defined in broad terms and asserts that this inclination for flat aesthetic has its roots in the traditional Japanese art and the development of post-war Japanese subculture. As such, Superflat as a theory possesses a capacity to engage and explain wide-ranging conditions in contemporary Japan. Taro Igarashi has made such a point and argues that the generations of leading Japanese architects practicing today possess Superflat 'tendency' for flat aesthetics and are inclined to focus on the expressive possibilities of the building's skin. While such sensibility could simply be interpreted as a stylistic trend that has emerged over the years, when examined against the characteristics of the art movement, there exist unmistakable similarities in terms of the design sensibility and techniques applied. Furthermore, the theory has become a force in how Japanese architecture is defined and understood internationally in the past decade.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the design characteristics of women's swimwear from 1955 to 1969 in Korea using documentary research sources. Both visual and linguistic elements found in the illustrations and advertisements that appeared in periodicals from 1955 to 1969 were used as primary sources. The primary sources were 아리랑, 여상, 여성계, 여성동아, 여원, 주부생활. The methods of content analysis and frequency seriation were combined to analyze the data obtained from the primary sources. Seriational analysis of the data were performed by ordering the frequency chronologically for the entire fifteen-year period. As the result of the study, it was found that the design of the swimwear during this period changed consistently in terms of swimwear type, shape of thigh line, textile design and decorative details. The degree of skin exposure was also continuously increased in different body parts.

  • This paper describes a design of a tactile sensor, which can measure three components force and temperature due to thermal conductive. The bio-mimetic tactile sensor, alternative to human's finger, is comprised of four micro force sensors and four thermal sensors, and its size being 10mm$\times$10mm. Each micro force sensor has a square membrane, and its force range is 0.1N - 5N in the three-axis directions. On the other hand, the thermal sensor for temperature measurement has a heater and four temperature sensor elements. The thermal sensor is designed to keep the temperature. $36.5^{\circ}C$, constant, like human skin, and measure the temperature $0^{\circ}C$ to $50^{\circ}C$. The MEMS technology is applied to fabricate the sensing element of the tactile sensor.

  • A variety of medical devices are utilized to repair or help injured body functions after accidental injury(such as a traffic accident), population aging, or disease. Such medical devices are being actively researched and developed in portable form, skin patchable type, and further, implantable form. In the future, active implantable medical devices for neuro and brain sciences are expected to be developed. Active implantable medical devices that detect brain signals and control neurology for a wider understanding of human cognition and nerve functions, and for an understanding and treatment of various diseases, are being actively pursued for future use. In this paper, the core elements of implantable devices that can be applied to neuro and brain sciences are classified into electrode technologies for bio-signal acquisition and stimulation, analog/digital circuit technologies for signal processing, human body communication technologies, wireless power transmission technologies for continuous device use, and device integration technologies to integrate them. In each chapter, the latest technology development trends for each detailed technology field are reviewed.
