  • The purpose of this study is to develop a practical image inspection system that could recognize it correctly, endowing flexibility to the productive field, although the same object for work will be changed in the size and rotated. In this experiment, it selected a fighter, rotating the direction from $30^{\circ}$ to $45^{\circ}$ simultaneously while changing the size from 1/4 to 1/16, as an object inspection without using another hardware for exclusive image processing. The invariant moments, Hu has suggested, was used as feature vector moment descriptor. As a result of the experiment, the image inspection system developed from this research was operated in real-time regardless of the chance of size and rotation for the object inspection, and it maintained the correspondent rates steadily above from 94% to 96%. Accordingly, it is considered as the flexibility can be considerably endowed to the factory automation when the image inspection system developed from this research is applied to the productive field.

  • Many producers put sampling inspection policy into the way of their convenience. Examples of the convenience are irregular lot size and too small sample size. Because they don't use a standard sampling inspection policy, they can not guarantee the quality level of their products. In this study, we developed a user-centered design program which can calculate the AOQL of their products to their buyers in the case of irregular lot size and too small sample size. Also this program propose a linear inspection cost by Hald's model.

  • In this paper, O-ring size measurement algorithm based on a small machine vision inspection equipment which can replace a expensive and large machine vision inspection equipment is presented. The small machine vision inspection equipment acquires a image from a CCD camera shooting a measurement plane which located on a back light and the proposed size measurement algorithm is apply to the image. For improvement of size measurement accuracy, camera lens distortion correction and perspective distortion correction are conducted by software technique. Consider O-ring's shape, ellipse fitting model is applied. In order to increase the reliability of ellipse fitting, RANSAC algorithm is applied.

  • Automatic Vision Inspection(AVI) systems automatically detect defect features and measure their sizes via camera vision. It is important to predict the performance of an AVI to meet customer's specification in advance. In this paper, we propose a statistical method for prediction of false alarm rate regarding inconsistency of defect size measuremet process. We only need are a simple experimental trial for repeated defect size measurement test. The statistical features from the experiement are utilized in the prediction process. Therefore, the proposed method is swift and easy to implement and use. The experiment shows a close prediction compared to manual inspection results.

  • We propose a sample design which minimize Bayes risk for cluster smpling in sampling inspection. We treat a pilot sample and an additional sample size as random variable. In addition we compute an appropriate cluster size for handling over-dispersion.

  • Spot welding is frequently used for industrial purpose, such as automobile and aerospace industries and household appliances due to its high performance. In these day, robotization and systemization of welding process made it possible to produce more precise or smaller electric parts. And when it comes to welding of steel sheet, the size of nugget must be getting smaller. Therefore, welding conditions are limited to avoid defects, such as deformation, damage, weakening of joining area. In this research, the measurement of the nugget size by the nondestructive inspection has been conducted. As a result, the right estimation of the nugget size and void defects, the detection of corona bond near joining area, the selection of the optimum ultrasonic mode, and set up for ultrasonic inspection are studied. From the trustworthy solutions of nugget size estimated by results of measurement, the optimum inspection conditions depending upon the width of welding parts are determined as well.

  • This study is concerned with the development of the economic sampling inspection plan when it is possible to carry out a nondestructive screening inspection for the rejected lots by substitutive characteristics closely related to the original quality characteristic. It is assumed that the probabilities of those errors depend linearly on the fraction defective of the process. The inspection policies considered are as follows: take a random sample of size n from the lot of size N and perform a destructive test on the sample. If the number of the defective items is not greater than a critical number C, accept the lot. Expected cost functions are obtained when the process average can be considered to follow a beta distribution and the way of finding the optimal values of (n, c) is to be explored.
