  • This paper presents a multiplier free technique for the complex DFT by rotations and additions based on the complex approximation of the ring of algebraic integers. Speeding-up the computation time and reducing the dynamic range growth has been achieved by the elimination of multiplication. Moreover the DFT of no twiddle factor quantization errors is possible. Numerical examples are given to prove the algorithm and the applicable size of the DFT is 16 has been concluded.

  • This paper proposes a blind multi-user detector using Code-Constrained Minimum Variance (CCMV) method which directly detects the DS-CDMA signals in a multipath fading channel without estimating the channels. This algorithm reduces the complexity of computation by making a small size data matrix with the order of the channel length. Advantageously it requires to know the spreading code and the time delay of only the desired user.

  • The problem of finding shortest paths between every pair of points in a network is solved employing and optimal network decomposition in which the network is decomposed into a number of subnetworks minimizing the number of cut-set between them while each subnetwork is constrained by a size limit. Shortest path computations are performed on individual subnetworks, and the solutions are recomposed to obtain the solution of the original network. The method when applied to large scale networks significantly reduces core requirement and computation time. This is demonstrated by developing a computer program based on the method and applying it to 30-vertex, 160-vertex, and 273-vertex networks.

  • In this paper, we suggested a neuro-fuzzy learning algorithm for tuning fuzzy rules, in which a fuzzy system model is of additive-type. Using the method, it is possible to reduce the computation size, since performing the fuzzy inference and tuning the fuzzy rules of each fuzzy subsystem model are independent. Moreover, the efficiency of suggested method is shown by means of a numerical example.

  • An advanced simulation model for brushless dc (BLDC) motor drives using Matlab is presented. In the developed model, the dynamic characteristics of speed and torque as well as voltages and currents of pwm inverter components can be effectively monitored and analyzed. Therefore, it can be expected that the developed simulation model can be an easy-to-design tool for the development of BLDC motor drives including control algorithms and topological variations with reduced computation time and memory size.

  • Stereo matching is an important technique in the are of computer vision. There are already many theorems to find disparity map using stereo images. Usually, disparity is searched by using block matching. However block matching result in blocking effects caused by using fixed size window for computing pixel correlations. This paper suggests an efficient method to remove the blocking effect in stereo matching procedures.

  • This paper deals with the computation error produced in the time step analysis for a electric machine with eddy current. To investigate the error in quantity, the analytic equations representing the steady state results of time-step analysis are deduced. Using the equations, the characteristics of errors are calculated for a general electric circuit, with variation of the circuit parameters and step size.

  • As jumpers for overhead transmission lines increase In size, it Is necessary to take into the characteristics of jumper swaying space in order to determine jumper reinforcements adequately. From the theory of a structure made of beams, formulas for the sideway swaying of overhead transmission lines due to wind are modeled. And also natural frequency of the vibrated jumper is estimated to check the system resonance. The theoretical results can be led good suggestions to improve the economy and reliability of jumper structure.

  • In the medical modalities, three-dimensional objects must be reconstructed from the consecutive slices. but the slime separation is usually much greater than the pixel size within an individual slices. In this paper, an interpolation scheme for filling the spare between the shapes in two successive slices is developed. It minimizes the computation involvement in segmentation of 3-D reconst ructlon process as well as more accurately approximates the object than the linear interpolation method.

  • This article introduces fundamentals of self-diagnosis and predictive (or preventive) maintenance technologies for dry vacuum pumps. The state variables of dry pumps are addressed, such as the pump and motor body temperatures, consumption currents of main and booster pumps, mechanical vibration, and exhaust pressure, etc. The adaptive parametric models of the state variables of the dry pump are exploited to provide dramatic reduction of data size and computation time for self-diagnosis. Two indicators, the Hotelling's $T^2$ and the sum of squares residuals (Q), are illustrated to be quite effective and successful in diagnosing dry pumps used in the semiconductor processes.
