공간 지반 정보를 활용한 이차원 분지 모델링 기반의 국내 홍성 지역에서의 부지 지진 응답 평가 (Assessment of Seismic Site Response at Hongseong in Korea Based on Two-dimensional Basin Modeling using Spatial Geotechnical Information)

  • 지진 시 지반 운동의 증폭과 관련되는 부지 효과는 지하 토사 조건 및 지질 구조에 따라 매우 큰 영향을 받는다. 본 연구에서는 국내 홍성 지역을 대상으로 시추 조사와 현장 탄성파 시험을 포함한 현장 조사 및 지표 부근 지질 정보를 획득하기 위한 부지 답사를 통해 부지 효과를 확인하였다. 홍성 지역은 1978년 계기 지진이 발생한 지역으로서 기반암 상부에 최대 45 m 두께의 풍화 지층이 분포한다. GIS 기법 기반의 지반 정보 시스템을 연구 대상 지역의 공간 지층 구조를 효율적으로 확인하기 위하여 구축하였으며, 이로부터 홍성 지역이 얕고 넓은 분지 형상임을 확인하였다. 홍성 지역의 부지 지진 응답을 평가하기 위하여 대표 단면에 대한 이차원 유한 요소 해석을 수행하였다. 도출된 지진 응답 결과로부터 지반 운동이 기반암 상부 토사층을 톰해 전단파가 전파되면서 증폭되고 분지 형상에 따른 전단파의 상호 작용으로 생성된 표면파로 인해 분지 경계 부근 진동 지속 시간이 증가됨을 확인하였다. 뿐만 아니라, 분지 내의 선정된 토사 부지들에 대해서 추가적인 일차원 유한 요소 지진 응답 해석을 수행하였으며, 본 연구 대상 분지가 매우 얕고 넓음에 따라 분지 경계 부근을 제외하고는 분지 내 대부분의 위치에서 이차원 지진 응답과 유사한 결과를 보였다.

농촌 소나무림에서 산불에 의한 식생변화와 유용미생물의 적용 (Vegetation Change after A Forest Fire in a Rural Japanese Red Pine Forest and Applications of Effective Microorganism)

  • This study examined the natural restoration of vegetation through monitoring of the development of a vegetation community from 2006 through 2007 after a forest fire. Approximately 5,000 $m^2$ in a forest near Topyeon-ri, Kangnae-myeon, Chungcheongbuk-do with Japanese red pine (Pinus densiflora) forest and its floor vegetation had been completely burned by a fire in April 2005. This area and another nearby Japanese red pine forest were selected as the experiment site and the control site, respectively. Vegetation survey was conducted at the experiment site and the control site. A seed bank experiment was carried out in the greenhouse to examine underground vegetation. Effective microorganism(EM) was applied to the seed bank experiment to estimate its effects on the direction of ecological succession. According to the results, a total of 36 plant species including shrub and herbaceous species were discovered in the experiment site. Quercus serrata, Lespedeza cyrtobotrya, and Castanea crenata, Rubus crataegifolius, Oplismenus undulatifolius, and Carex lanceolata were among the most abundant species. Biomass in the experiment site reached 2.4 times biomass than those in the control site, indicating the productivities of shrub and herbaceous layers are better in the experiment site. According to the result of the soil seed bank experiment of the experiment site, a total of 182 plants of 14 species were recorded. In addition, a total of 13 plants of 2 species were found from soil seed bank of the experiment site applied by EM. If EM is applied to the burned site, it will control the budding of herbaceous plants, creating the gap between herbaceous plants. This loss of competition is expected to help the restoration of trees in the burned area.

Effects of Different Calm Conditions on the Radiation Exposure Due to the Operation of a Nuclear Facility at KAERI Site

  • Wind-speed has much effect on the dispersion of the radioactive effluents released into the atmosphere. Accurate measurement of low wind-speeds is very important for the realistic assessment of radiation exposure. The objective of this study is to analyze the effects of different calm conditions on the radiation exposure due to the normal operation of a nuclear facility at KAERI (Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute) site. When calm condition is changed from 0.5 m/sec to 0.21 m/sec, the effects on radiation exposure show a distinct difference.

인터넷 쇼핑몰의 사이트 특성과 사용자의 특성이 지각된 위험과 구매의도에 미치는 영향 (The Sequential Effects of Site and Customer Characteristics of Internet Shopping Malls on Perceived Risks and Purchase Intention)

  • 최근까지 전자상거래 환경에서의 구매의도에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구들이 많이 제시되었으나, 이들 요인들을 통합적으로 분석한 노력이 부족하였고, 특히 전자상거래가 활성화되면서 이용자들이 인식하기 시작한 위험성에 대한 심층적인 연구가 미흡하였다. 따라서 본 연구는 이러한 부분을 채우기 위한 노력의 일환으로 인터넷 쇼핑몰에서의 구매의도에 과연 사이트 특성 및 사용자 특성이 인지된 위험과 함께 어떻게 영향을 미치는지 살펴보았다. 본 연구는 서베이 방식의 필드 연구를 수행하였으며 수집된 자료는 구조방정식을 이용하여 분석하였다. 분석결과, 인터넷 쇼핑몰의 사이트 특성과 이용자의 특성이 구매의도에 직접적인 영향을 미치기보다는 오히려 인지된 위험이 구매의도에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 전자상거래 환경에서 그간 소홀히 다루어져 왔던 이용자의 인지된 위험성이 실제 매우 중요한 요인이며 따라서 많은 연구가 진행될 필요가 있음을 시사하고 있다.

Spatially variable effects on seismic response of the cable-stayed bridges considering local soil site conditions

  • In this study, stochastic responses of a cable-stayed bridge subjected to the spatially varying earthquake ground motion are investigated for variable local soil cases and wave velocities. Quincy Bay-view cable-stayed bridge built on the Mississippi River in Illinois, USA selected as a numerical example. The bridge is composed of two H-shaped concrete towers, double plane fan type cables and a composite concrete-steel girder deck. The spatial variability of the ground motion is considered with the coherency function, which is represented by the components of incoherence, wave-passage and site-response effects. The incoherence effect is investigated by considering Harichandran and Vanmarcke model, the site-response effect is outlined by using hard, medium and soft soil types, and the wave-passage effect is taken into account by using 1000, 600 and 200 m/s wave velocities for the hard, medium and soft soils, respectively. Mean of maximum response values obtained from the analyses are compared with those of the specific cases of the ground motion model. It is concluded that the obtained results from the bridge model increase as the differences between local soil conditions cases of the bridge supports change from firm to soft. Moreover, the variation of the wave velocity has important effects on the responses of the deck and towers as compared with those of the travelling constant wave velocity case. In addition, the variability of the ground motions should be considered in the analysis of long span cable-stayed bridges to obtain more accurate results in calculating the bridge responses.

모바일, PC온라인 매체 방문 행동이 쇼핑 사이트 방문에 미치는 영향에 대한 동태적 연구 (The Dynamic Research of Mobile and PC Online Media Visit Activities Effects on The E-Commerce Site Visit)

  • In the e-commerce, the conversion into the multi-media is the important issue. According to the research by Nielsen Korea, the 83% of customers who purchase the products in the e-commerce utilize multi-channel to buy the products such as mobile and online [3]. Thus, to effectively implement online advertising, marketers should understand the customers' path [15] in the multi-channel. The study of the multi-site activities plays an important role to predict customers' purchase [28]. To explain the e-commerce site visit activities of customers, we have developed research model in terms of the online advertising. This research model is based on the study of Moe and Fader [23]. There are two types of composition in the research model. First, general site visit as an exploratory search have net effect on the shopping site visit because customers could acquire or develop information on the e-commerce site via online advertising. Secondly, the e-commerce site visit as a goal-directed search cause threshold of the e-commerce site visit because customers could achieve their goal. When the threshold is increased, the probability of a shopping site visit is decreased and vice versa. Thus, we have investigated the impact of customers' previous visit activities (general site visit and shopping site visit) on the next e-commerce site visit in terms of dynamic view. Research data was provided by Cheil World Wide. This panel data include mobile and online log data of panelists from Jan. 2013 to March 2013. As the results, the customers' e-commerce site visit on the online media would decrease the probability of e-commerce site visit because these visit activities increase the threshold of e-commerce site visit. This result is similar with the previous study [23]. Otherwise, since e-commerce site visit on the mobile media decrease the threshold, the customers' probability of e-commerce site visit would increase In summary, the site visit activities on the mobile could improve the probability of e-commerce site visits.

Forest Floor Biomass, Litterfall and Physico-chemical Properties of Soil along the Anthropogenic Disturbance Regimes in Tropics of Chhattisgarh, India

  • The long term ecological effects have been reported in natural forest ecosystem due to various anthropogenic disturbances, especially in tropics of the world. The present study was carried out in the sanctuary area of central India to assess the changes on litter biomass, litterfall pattern and soil attributes under different disturbance regimes. The study area includes three forest circles i.e., Bhoramdeo, Jamunpani and Salehwara each comprising three disturbances regimes viz., high, medium and low severity of biotic pressure. A noticeable variation and impact were recorded in different sites. The impact varies significantly from least disturbed sites to highly disturbed sites across the circle and among different disturbances level. The seasonal mean total forest floor biomass across the forest circles varied from 2.18 to $3.30t\;ha^{-1}$. It was found highest under lightly disturbed site and lowest under heavily disturbed site. Total litterfall varied from 5.11 to $7.06t\;ha^{-1}\;yr^{-1}$ across the forest circle. Lowest litterfall was recorded at heavily disturbed site while highest in lightly disturbed site. Annual turnover of litter varied from 69-73% and the turnover time ranged between 1.37-1.45 years. The turn over time was higher for heavily disturbed site and lower for lightly disturbed site. The heavily disturbed site of all the circle showed the sandy loam soil texture, whereas moderately and lightly disturbed site comprised of sandy loam, sandy clay loam and clay soil texture, respectively. The bulk density decreases from heavily disturbed site to lightly disturbed site and the pH of soils ranged from 5.57-6.89 across the circle. Across the circle the total soil nitrogen ranged from 0.12-0.21%, phosphorus from 10.03-24.00 kg and Potassium from $139.88-448.35kg\;ha^{-1}$, respectively. Our results demonstrate that anthropogenic disturbances regime significantly influences forest floors in terms of mass, composition and dynamics along with litterfall rate and soil properties.

현장 지진조기경보시스템의 설계 및 성능평가 방법 (On-Site Earthquake Early Warning System Design and Performance Evaluation Method)

  • 최근 지진조기경보시스템(EEWS)의 성능 개선과 진앙지 또는 진앙 근처 지역의 지진방재 효과를 보완하기 위해 현장 지진조기경보시스템(On-Site EEWS)의 개발이 시도되고 있다. 지진에 대한 연구 및 관측을 위한 지진관측망을 이용하여 지진 방재에 활용하는 국가 차원의 EEWS와 달리 On-Site EEWS는 지진방재를 목적으로 하므로 성능 및 비용 측면의 효율적인 설계와 평가가 필요하다. 현재 우리나라는 EEWS 뿐만 아니라 On-Site EEWS 개발에 기존 EEWS의 설계 기준 및 평가방법을 사용하는 등 필요한 핵심기술과 운영 노하우가 미흡한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 지진·화산재해대책법에서 규정하는 지진 가속도계의 요구 사항을 기반으로 On-Site EEWS의 국산화 개발에 필요한 지진 데이터 수집, 데이터 처리 및 분석 부분의 하드웨어 및 소프트웨어적 설계 방향과 성능평가 항목 및 방법을 제안한다.

Active-Site Mutants of Human Glutathione S-Transferase P1-1: Effects of the Mutations on Substrate Specificity and Inhibition Characteristics

  • In order to gain further insight on the relationship between structure and function of glutathione S-transferase (GST), the six active-site mutants, R13T, K44T, Q51A, Q64A, S65A, and D98A, of human GST P1-1 were expressed in Escherichia coli and purified to electrophoretic homogeneity by affinity chromatography on immobilized GSH. The active-site mutants showed marked differences in substrate specificity. The substitution of Gln51 with threonine resulted in a drastic decrease in the specific activities to <10% of the wild-type value. The substitution of Arg13 with threonine resulted in more decreased specific activity toward cumene hydroperoxide and in the $I_{50}$ values of S-(2,4-dinitrophenyl) glutathione and benanstatin A. These results suggest that the substitution of Arg13 with threonine changes the conformation of the active site to increase the affinity for the product or electrophilic substrate. Lys44 seems to be in the vicinity of the H-site of hGST P1-1 or may contribute to some extents to the electrophile binding.

메탄올의 전환반응에서 보로실리케이트의 촉매성질 (Catalytic Properties of Borosilicate in Methanol Conversion)

  • 보로실리케이트와 HZSM-5 제올라이트 및 이들의 골격에 철이 일부 치환된 촉매를 제조하여 메탄올의 전환반응에서 촉매성질을 조사하였다. 산점의 세기와 양이 생성물 분포에 미치는 영향을 암모니아의 승온 탈착곡선으로부터 얻어진 산성도와 연관지어 고찰하였다. 강한 산점이 적은 보로실리케이트 촉매에서는 프로필렌 선택도가 높았으나, 강한 산점이 많은 HZSM-5 제올라이트 촉매에서는 방향족 화합물의 선택도가 높았다. 약한 산점이 전환반응에 기여하는지 여부는 확인되지 않았으나, 생성물 선택도는 강한 산점의 양과 관련지어 설명할 수 있었다. 철의 치환으로 약한 산점이 많아졌으나, 전화율이나 올레핀 선택도에는 영향이 없었다.
