  • The dynamic stability of a single cam drive mechanism is investigated by an analytical approach. The nonlinear differential equation describing the motion of a single cam drive mechanism is linearized with respect to the imput power angle, and results a linear parametric differential equation. The instability region is examined by applying the harmonic balance method to linearized parametric equation having periodicity. Through the dynamic stability analysis of a single cam drive mechanism, it is observed that the parametric resonances exist and the instability regions tend to become wide as increasing the drive speed and follower mass.

  • A novel ultra-low-power readout circuit for a pH-sensitive ion-sensitive field-effect transistor (ISFET) is proposed. It uses an ISFET/reference FET (REFET) differential pair operating in weak-inversion and a simple current-mode metal-oxide semiconductor FET (MOSFET) translinear circuit. Simulation results verify that the circuit operates with excellent common-mode rejection ability and good linearity for a single pH range from 4 to 10, while only 4 nA is drawn from a single 1 V supply voltage.

  • Physical activities in the forest environment stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system of humans and have positive effects on the autonomic nervous system as well as moods and emotions. However, there are almost no studies on the benefits of exercise in the forest environment for patients with myocardial infarction. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of 15-minute single session walking by myocardial infarction patients in the forest and urban environment on the physiological and psychological states. The heart rate variability was measured in 10 patients with myocardial infarction to assess physiological state after single session walking for 15 minutes in the forest environment and urban environment. In order to evaluate the psychological state, a profile of mood scale (POMS) and semantic differential (SD) questionnaire were used. The results of this study showed that 15-minute single session walking in the forest environment activated the parasympathetic nervous system of adult myocardial infarction patients more than 15 minutes of single session walking in the urban environment, and also made them feel more positive in terms of the POMS and SD. Therefore, this study suggests that even single session walking in the forest environment can positively influence the physiological and psychological states of adult heart disease patients and may also contribute to health care.

  • A differential codebook design method using wireless channel's temporal correlation is proposed over closed loop multiple-input single-output (MISO) system. The single layer codewords in a codebook are selected among a set of phase elements. In the conventional codeword selection rule, codewords are assumed to be on a spherical cap and sine formula was used. In this paper, however, a new method using Pythagoras formula is employed to simplify computational complexity. Also, an adaptive differential codebook selection is adopted to enhance performance. Monte-Carlo simulations demonstrate that the proposed codebook is superior to the conventional ones.

  • The purposes of this study are to classify consumption values and to examine the effects of consumption values on appearance management behaviors. Questionnaires data was obtained through adults over 20 years old of age (N=478) in Gyeonggi-do, Daegu and Kyungpook regions. Descriptive statistics, factor analysis, multiple regression analysis, t-test and ANOVA were applied. The results of this study are as follows. First, consumption values are composed of three factors such as differential value, material value and practical value. Appearance management behaviors are identified such as surgery/skin care, clothing care, weight training and hair care. The weight training in appearance management behaviors is the most preferred behavior. Second, the results of regression analysis are like as follows: The effects of consumption on plastic surgery/skin care are explained by the differential value, material value and practical value(-). On weight training and hair care, the differential value and material value have positively significant effects. The differential value has significant effects on all over appearance management behaviors. Third, there are signigicant differences in consumption values and appearance management behaviors according to demographic variables. The single, females in 20s and 30s with higher monthly income and payment have higher differential value and lower practical value. The single and female in 20s and 30s were more involved in appearance management behavior.

  • In order to understand the molecular basis of chicken heterosis in reproduction traits, mRNA differential display (DDRT-PCR) methods were used to analyze the differential gene expression of ovary tissue between hybrids and their parental lines in a 4${\times}$4 diallel cross, involving 4 chicken breeds, which were White Plymouth Rock (E), CAU Brown (D), Silkies (C) and White Leghorn (A). Total of 331 differential displayed cDNA bands from 1,161 were displayed in the 4${\times}$4 diallel cross combinations with 30 pairs of primers, which shows the differences of gene expression between hybrids and their parental lines were very obvious in quantity and quality. Seven types of differential expression patterns were found: Co-dominance expressed pattern (T1), under-expression of parental fragments in hybrids (T2), over-expression of parental fragments in hybrids (T3), hybrid-absence expressed pattern (T4), single parentspecific expressed pattern (T5), dominant expression fragments of single parent in hybrids (T6), hybrid-specific expressed pattern (T7). Correlation analysis indicated that there were significant correlations between the pattern of T3 and the heterosis percentage of egg number of 32-week and 42-week old chickens(p<0.01), while there were negative significant correlations between the pattern of T7 and the heterosis percentage of egg number of 32-week and 42 week-old birds (p<0.01).

  • A bandwidth-enhanced ultra-wide band (UWB) CMOS balun-LNA is implemented as a part of a software defined radio (SDR) receiver which supports multi-band and multi-standard. The proposed balun-LNA is composed of a single-to-differential converter, a differential-to-single voltage summer with inductive shunt peaking, a negative feedback network, and a differential output buffer with composite common-drain (CD) and common-source (CS) amplifiers. By feeding the single-ended output of the voltage summer to the input of the LNA through a feedback network, a wideband balun-LNA exploiting negative feedback is implemented. By adopting a source follower-based inductive shunt peaking, the proposed balun-LNA achieves a wider gain bandwidth. Two LNA design examples are presented to demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed approach. The LNA I adopts the CS amplifier with a common gate common source (CGCS) balun load as the S-to-D converter for high gain and low noise figure (NF) and the LNA II uses the differential amplifier with the ac-grounded second input terminal as the S-to-D converter for high second-order input-referred intercept point (IIP2). The 3 dB gain bandwidth of the proposed balun-LNA (LNA I) is above 5 GHz and the NF is below 4 dB from 100 MHz to 5 GHz. An average power gain of 18 dB and an IIP3 of -8 ~ -2 dBm are obtained. In simulation, IIP2 of the LNA II is at least 5 dB higher than that of the LNA I with same power consumption.

  • Differential sensing methods are more effective in alleviating panel noise than single-line sensing, and thus have been increasingly used in the touch screen industry. However, they have a drawback: they tend to cancel out multiple touches and need touch position recovery algorithms. This paper introduces a novel algorithm of touch position recovery for differential sensing, which is a low-complexity but high-accuracy approach for determining multiple touch positions. We have implemented the proposed method in a touch screen controller system on a chip. In the simulation experiments using realistic touch screen models and a differential sensing circuit, the algorithm exhibited a high detection performance of a signal-to-noise ratio gain of up to 52.21 dB. Therefore, we can conclude that the proposed method is substantially more accurate than the previous method. Further, the proposed method incurs little or no overhead in terms of the detection speed and the chip size.

  • Assume that at a certain locus there are three genotypes and that for every one progeny produced by an IAIA homozygote, the heterozygote IAIB produces. W. Choi found the adapted partial differential equations for the density and operator of the frequency for one gene and applied this adapted partial differential equations to several diploid model. Also, he found adapted partial differential equations for the diploid model against recessive homozygotes and in case that the alley frequency occurs after one generation of selection when there is no dominance. (see. [1, 2]). In this paper, we find the adapted partial equations for the model of selection against heterozygotes and in case that the allele frequency changes after one generation of selection when there is overdominance. Finally, we shall find the partial differential equation of general type of selection at diploid model and it also shall apply to actual examples. This is a very meaningful result in that it can be applied in any model.

  • A novel 200 MHz CMOS transconductor using translinear cells is proposed. The proposed transconductor consists of voltage followers and current followers based on translinear cells and a resistor. For wide applications, a single-input single-output, a single-Input differential-output, and a fully-differential transconductor are systematically designed, respectively. The theory of operation is described and computer simulation results are used to verify theoretical predictions. The results show that the fully-differential transconductor has a linear input voltage range of ${\pm}2.7$ V, a 3 dB frequency of 200 MHz, and a temperature coefficient of less than 41 $ppm/^{\circ}C$ at supply voltages of ${\pm}3$ V. In order to certify the applicability of the fully-differential transconductor, A ladder-type 3th-order cllitic low pass filter is also designed based on the inductance simulation method. The filter has a ripple bandwidth of 22 MHz, a pass-band ripple of 0.36 dB, and a cutoff frequency of 26 MHz.
