Three protein feeding systems for egg-type pullets involving conventional step-down protein 18-15-12%), step-up protein(12-15-18%) and single-stage low protein (13-13-13%) with an iso-energy level of 2,900 ME kcal /kg were compared to examine the effect on pullet growth and subsequent laying performance. During the growing period, pullets subjected to the step-up and single-stage low protein feeding systems were lighter in body weight and consumed less feed and netabolizable energy than those on the conventional step-down protein feeding system(P<0.05). 3ut the pullets on the step-up protein diet consumed more protein, and those on the single-stage low protein diet consumed less protein than those on the step-down protein diet(P<0.05). Also, he feed cost was less in pullets on the single-stage low protein diet than in those on the other systems(P<0.05). During the laying period, sexual maturity was later in hens reared on the step-up and single-stage low protein diets than in those on the step-down protein diet(P<0.05), however, average hen-day egg production and egg weight were not significantly affected by the protein feeding systems in the growing period. Daily feed intake and feed required per egg were significantly reduced in hens on the single-stage low protein diet compared to those on conventional protein feeding system(P<0.05). It was concluded that the 13% single-stage low protein feeding system produced smaller pullets with less feed, energy, protein, and feed cost during the growing period, and hens reared on that system consumed less feed during the laying period without any impairment of production compared to the conventional rearing system.
This paper compares power losses between voltage controlled before and after using power conversion device in AC feeding system. For this purpose we present voltage control procedures and criteria and model high speed line and train using PSCAD/EMTDC to compare power losses in various feeding condition. Power losses of the simulation result in power control before and after in single point feeding system was reduced maximum 0.37 MW(23.8 %) and average 0.23 MW(20.5 %) when one vehicle load operates maximum load condition. When three vehicles operate maximum load condition in one feeder section, power losses after voltage control was reduced 1.03 MW(49.5%) compared to before voltage control. And, power loss of parallel feeding system is reduced the average 0.08 MW(7.2 %) compared to the single feeding system. In conclusion, adaptive voltage control method using power conversion device can reduce power losses compared with existing method.
In this paper, modeling of overcurrent relay(OCR) to protect domestic AC electric railway Auto Transformer(AT) feeding system and operation characteristic analysis on overload condition are described. The target system of this paper is actual site where overload trip of circuit breaker occurs frequently. Because this AT feeding system is made of parallel single track which had a load(electric train) respectively, and is connected with only T phase of Scott Transformer. In addition, this system has been feeding 66kV voltage by KEPCO, not 154kV. We focus on protective coordination of Scott Transformer primary side and secondary side OCR for Korea single track AC electrical railway system in operation currently. We modeled single track AT feeding system and OCR. Also we performed faults and overload analysis for verification of OCR's setting values and system modeling. To analyze above mentioned research, we used PSCAD/EMTDC software tool.
A single action press robot, which consists of a driving unit, rotator, up-down feed base and feed bar, is developed and applied for the press automation. The driving unit is made up with a face cam and blade cam, which have a phase angle. The feeding system consists of a double speed-up apparatus and linear motion guides, and has a fast motion characteristics. A horizontal feeding speed of the feed bar is increased twice by the double speed-up apparatus. The driving mechanism could be simplified due to the speed-up of the feeding unit.
In general, AT(Auto-transformer) is used to improve voltage sag and inductive interference in power lines and communication lines in AC electrical railway feeding system. Especially, Korean AT feeding system has different composition compared to other countries like Japan or France, so that it has some special characteristics. However, relays imported from other countries have been used in Korea, and settings of these relays should be modified and reflect distinct characteristics of Korean AT feeding system. Therefore, study about fault analysis based on modeled AT feeding system is important. In this paper, we modeled a single track AT feeding system by using PSCAD and analyzed fault current flow in case of trolley-rail short circuit fault. Finally, we presented current magnitude of each branch expressed by boosting current of AT.
The KSR-III developed by KARI is the first rocket vehicle which is adopting the liquid propellant rocket engine system in Korea. Not only the engine itself, but also the propellant feeding system is one of the most important component in liquid rocket vehicle. In this paper, the authors are intended to introduce the multi-purpose test facility(PTA-II Test Facility) which is constructed for the variety of tests on KSR-III feeding system(single component tests, verification tests, cold flow tests and combustion tests). With the results of these tests, we can identify the characteristics of rocket feeding system and decide the optimum setting values of feeding system for the successful flight.
From the observations of dietary self-selection by growing pullets, step-up protein or reverse protein and single-stage low protein pullet feeding systems were developed. They offered another pullet feeding concept that appears to control the body weight effectively and to reduce the consumption of feed and nutrients without impairment of subsequent laying performance. It is obvious from the feed and nutrient consumption pattern of layers fed diets for self-selection of energy, protein and calcium that they have a daily cyclic requirement rather than a constant requirement for nutrients. It seems that a practical self-selective feeding system is needed to meet the daily cyclic requirement for nutrients without consuming an excess of energy and protein at certain times of the day as compared to the complete or single diet where layers have to consume extra energy and protein in the afternoon when they have a specific appetite mainly for calcium.
An AC electrical railroad system has rapidly changing dynamic single-phase load, and at a feeding substation, three-phase electric power is transformed to the paired directional single-phase electric power. There is a great difference in electrical phenomenon between the load of AC electrical railroad system and that of general power system. Electric characteristics of AC electrical railroad's trainload are changed continuously according to the traction, operating characteristic, operating schedule, track slope, etc. Because of the long feeding distance of the dynamic trainload, power quality problems such as voltage drop, voltage imbalance and harmonic distortion may also occur to AC electrical railroad system. These problems affect not only power system stability. but also power quality deterioration in AC electrical railroad system. The dynamic simulation model of AC electrical railroad system presented by PSCAD/EMTDC is modeled in this paper, and then, it is analyzed voltage drop and power quality for AC electrical railroad system both with single-Phase distributed STATCOM(Static Synchronous Compensator) installed at SP(Sectioning Post) and without.
This paper presents exact Autotransformers(ATs)-fed AC electric Railroad system modeling using constant current mode far locomotives. An AC electric railroad system is rapidly changing single-phase load, and at a feeding substation, 3-phase electric power is transferred to paired directional single-phase electric power. As the train moves along a section of line between two adjacent ATs. The proposed AC electric railroad system modeling method considers the line self-impedances and mutual-impedances. The constant current mode model objectives are to calculate the catenary and rail voltages with the loop equation. When there are more than one train in the AC electric railroad system, the principle of superposition applies and the only difference between the system analyses for one train. Finally, this paper shows the general equation of an AC electric railroad system, and that equation has no relation with trains number, trains position, and feeding distance.
