Purpose: Based on Anderson's model of health service utilization, we investigated the factors that affect the influenza vaccination status in Korean adults aged 50-64 years, who live alone. Methods: Data of 194 Korean adults aged 50-64 years, who live alone were obtained from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 7th Edition (2016-2018). Descriptive statistics and a multiple logistic regression model were used for statistical analysis. Results: The influenza vaccination rate in the study population was 39.3%. Educational status and health behaviors such as smoking habits and regular medical check-up were associated with the influenza vaccination rate in Korean adults aged 50-64 years, who live alone. Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that educational level lower than middle school graduation (odds ratio [OR] 2.02), non-smoking status (OR 1.98), and lack of regular medical check-up (OR 0.62) were significantly associated with the influenza vaccination rate in Korean adults aged 50-64 years, who live alone. Conclusion: The influenza vaccination rate in Korean adults aged 50-64 years, who live alone, is relatively low; therefore, policies should be implemented to improve the influenza vaccination rate in this population. Influenza vaccination in single households was affected by health promotion activities; therefore, interventions are warranted to encourage overall health promotion activities.
According to Plato's ontology, we lead our lives by establishing a relationship with others in the society. However in rapidly changing era, our lives was gradually moving towards personal tendency. Even for the relationship with family, not with others. Thus, awareness about owning properties has changed due to the sociocultural factors and increase number of single-person households. So in this study, the considerations for single-person housing were perceived through preceding research, and the elements making spatial boundary of shared housing were drawn to make rational space sharing based on the boundary with others and of the living environment. With overall analysis based on the spatial boundary features of planned shared housing, the plan characteristics according to the spatial boundary of the current shared housing is to be drawn and analyzed. Third, The expressive and structural features of spatial boundary as above appear with mutual flexible connectivity, And the result shows that the modularity was the highest. Among them variable coupling modularity of shows how it is possible to combine efficiently and variously the private and public spaces with regularity of 'space of optimal unit'. This study drew plan characteristics from more detailed space border of shared housing. Therefore, The basic framework of the characteristics spin for the cases that newly emerge later on.
Recently, people are spending a lot of time inside their homes because of various diseases. It is difficult to ask others for help in the case of a single-person household that is injured in the house or infected with a disease and needs help from others. In this study, an algorithm is proposed to detect emergency event, which are situations in which single-person households need help from others, such as injuries or disease infections, in their homes. It proposes vision pattern detection algorithms using home CCTVs, audio pattern detection algorithms using artificial intelligence speakers, activity pattern detection algorithms using acceleration sensors in smartphones, and dust pattern detection algorithms using air purifiers. However, if it is difficult to use due to security issues of home CCTVs, it proposes a fusion method combining audio, activity and dust pattern sensors. Each algorithm collected data through YouTube and experiments to measure accuracy.
The aim of this study was to verify differences in autonomic responses that are affected by the configurations of one-room type units using an electrocardiogram (ECG). Accordingly, 43 one-room units that were collected randomly were classified into ten different types of floor plan configurations mainly according to the location of the bathroom and kitchen. An ECG was subsequently measured for each plan type and the average ratio of the LF/HF (Power in low frequency range/Power in high frequency range) was calculated to measure the comfort level of each space. The results revealed a significant statistical difference between the average LF/HF ratio between the plan types (p < 0.05) and provided compelling evidence suggesting that the configuration of the plan may affect the quality of one-room space. This approach appears to be effective in counteracting stress that may exacerbate psychological disorders in single person households.
Using the Artificial Neural Network model and Binary Logistic Regression model, this study investigates influence factors on the quality of life in terms of housing environment during the COVID-19 in Seoul. The results show that the lower the satisfaction level of housing policy, the lower the quality of life in the employment field and the lower the quality of residential field. On the other hand, permanent workers and self-employed respondents have experienced improvement in residential quality during the pandemic. A limitation of this study is associated with disentangling the causal relationship using the 'black box' characteristics of ANN method.
Purpose: Ensuring prompt and consistent 119 emergency services for all citizens is crucial and requires every region to adhere to prescribed deployment standards Methods: This study assessed the compliance with 119 emergency resource deployment standards in 229 districts (si-gun-gu) by analyzing data from 18 fire headquarters as of December 31, 2022. Results: At the Sigun-gu level, 16 areas (7%) did not meet the fire station standards. Among the 229 si-gun-gu, 25 (10.9%) failed operational ambulance standards, and 114 (49.8%) did not meet the 119 first responder standards. Areas lacking fire station standards had lower financial self-sufficiency and higher elderly and single-person elderly household proportions (p<.05). Areas not meeting ambulance standards had lower proportions of these populations, but higher financial self-sufficiency. In addition, areas that did not meet the 119 first-responder standards had greater financial autonomy (p<.05). Areas meeting only basic fire station standards had higher proportions of elderly and single-person households and lower financial self-sufficiency. Areas meeting only ambulance standards had lower financial autonomy, whereas those meeting only emergency medical technician standards had lower financial self-sufficiency and a higher elderly proportions (p<.05). Conclusion: Si-gun-gu, with a large elderly population and poor finances, often fails to meet fire station standards and meets only the basic criteria. Continuous monitoring and targeted management are crucial for reducing disparities in 119 resource allocation and improving the overall deployment.
Purpose: This study was undertaken to evaluate the health, nutritional status and metabolic syndrome risk according to the dietary pattern of adult single-person households, using information obtained from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES). Methods: Data were collected from the 2013-2016 KNHANES, of adults aged 19-64 years, belonging to single-person households. Based on cluster analysis, the dietary patterns of subjects were classified into three groups. The dietary behavior factors, health-related factors, nutritional status, and prevalence of metabolic syndrome obtained from KNHANES questionnaires were compared according to the individual dietary pattern. The nutrient intake data of the subjects were calculated using the semi-food frequency questionnaire. Moreover, blood and physical measurement data of the subjects were analyzed to obtain the prevalence of metabolic syndromes. Results: The major dietary intakes of subjects were classified as 'Rice and kimchi', 'Mixed', and 'Milk·dairy products and fruits' patterns. Characteristics of subjects based on their dietary pattern, gender, age, and education level were significantly different. The 'Milk and fruits' pattern showed low frequency of skipping breakfast and eating out, and had higher intake of dietary supplements. Frequency of alcohol intake and smoking rates were highest in the 'Mixed' pattern. Maximum nutrient intake of fat, vitamin A, riboflavin, vitamin C, niacin, calcium, phosphorus, and potassium was obtained in the 'Milk·dairy products and fruits' pattern. According to dietary patterns adjusted for age and gender, the risk of metabolic syndrome was 0.380 times lower in the 'Milk·dairy products and fruit' pattern than in the 'Rice and kimchi' pattern. However, when adjusted for other confounding factors, no significant difference was obtained between dietary patterns for metabolic syndrome risk. Conclusion: These results indicate that the health and nutritional status of a single-person household is possibly affected by the dietary intake of subjects.

[Purpose] This study analyzed data from the 7th Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2016-2018) to compare the differences in energy intake and physical activity (PA) levels in middle-aged Korean men aged 40-59 years according to household type and the presence of metabolic syndrome (MetS). [Methods] Data from 2,266 young adults (aged >39 years and <60 years) were obtained from the KNHANES. We analyzed the differences in energy intake and PA levels according to household type and MetS. The presence or absence of MetS was determined by measuring waist circumference, blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, triglyceride, and HDL-C levels. [Results] Regarding total nutritional intake, no relationship with MetS was observed regardless of household type (interaction between MetS and household type: p = 0.875). No differences in total PA were observed between multiple- and single-person households (interaction between MetS and household type: p = 0.122). The relationship between MetS and MetS components according to nutritional intake showed that participants with a higher energy intake had a 27% lower prevalence of low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) (p < 0.05) and a 36% higher prevalence of high blood pressure (p < 0.01). The relationship between MetS and MetS components according to the PA level showed significantly reduced prevalence of MetS by approximately 39%, 35%, and 43% (p < 0.01, 0.01, and 0.001) in subjects who were somewhat active, active, and very active, respectively, compared to inactivity. [Conclusion] Middle-aged men showed no difference in nutritional intake and PA between multiple- and single-person households. However, the risk of MetS was significantly higher in participants with approximately 1.5 times the energy intake compared to the group with the lowest energy intake. Moreover, higher levels of PA had a marked positive effect on the risk factors and prevalence of MetS. Therefore, we suggest that reducing the total energy intake and increasing total PA are important for preventing MetS in middle-aged men regardless of household type.
Although the concept of the elderly varies depending on scholars and laws, as consumption expenditure is deeply associated with income due to the nature of this study, 55 years old was set as the low limit standard for the elderly according to Prohibition of Discrimination on Age in Employment and Employment Promotion for the Aged Act and the elderly households were limited to single-elderly person household and an elderly couple family household for this study. It is considered consumption characteristics as a significant analysis subject in terms of social welfare because it could be understood as an expressed need which was a reflection of desire. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the consumption characteristics of the elderly households by stereotyping the consumption pattern of the elderly households, and find the determining factors for consumption patterns and thus contribute to the establishment of related policies through the expressed needs of the elderly households. K-means of cluster analysis was performed by putting the consumption expenditure of the elderly households to investigate inherent structural type of consumption pattern of the elderly households, which were the investigation subjects. As a result, four groups were stereotyped and named as below: 'health care-centered type', 'saving-centered type', 'livelihood-centered type', and 'food expenses-centered type' Binary Logistic Regression analysis was used to identify the factors that influence the decision of consumption pattern of the elderly households. The result of study showed that the elderly households faced all different needs and problems and thus there is a need for various approach plans to solve this situation. In particular, although the elderly have been viewed as economically poor people so far, the study showed that there were also kind of prepared households through saving. Overall, livelihoodcentered type accounted for the highest portion and, as a factor that influenced this, marital state and household income played an important role. Therefore, it is considered that more active efforts to increase the income of the elderly households are needed. In addition, age, owning of house and subjective health state were found to also have significant influence. Through these results of the study, the elderly's own improvement of awareness on health, presentation of overall standard for health state of the elderly, securement of the elderly's access to cultural life, and financial management coordination for improvement of quality of life, development and dissemination of jobs suitable for the elderly, and dissemination of communal life household, which is a cooperation residential type, were presented as institutional task in the conclusion.
Due to social phenomena such as rapid aging in Korea, nuclear familyization, single marriage, and low birth rate, the number of Companion animals and the number of households with Companion animals are increasing due to the increase in single-person households. In fact, one out of every four households has a pet, and the scale of the industry is expected to reach 6 trillion won in 2027. In particular, in a situation where the Companion animal cosmetics market is in the spotlight amid the diversification of the pet industry, there is a great lack of research on related research and industry development methods. Accordingly, this study attempted to search and analyze academic data, patented technologies, and the latest data related to pet cosmetics and provide them as basic data for the Companion animal cosmetics industry, and the results are as follows. Academic data included verification of the effectiveness of natural materials to improve the skin condition of dogs, analysis of the pet cosmetics industry, and research on ICT-converged pet cosmetics, and the industry was mainly cleaning cosmetics, with pet shampoo launches in Amorepacific, LG Household & Healthcare, and Aekyung. In the patented technology for pets, a patent has been registered for natural product material composition and formulation ratio for skin moisturizing, skin improvement, thinning, and inflammation symptom relief. As a result of this award, it was confirmed that research and development are still insufficient compared to the consumption demand of the pet cosmetics market, and it is believed that industry analysis and development research in related fields should be actively carried out.
