고속 생산형 필름 진동판 성형기 및 금형 국산화 개발(II) - 다량 생산 진동판 성형기 - (Domestic Development of Vibrational Film Forming Machine and Die in the High Speed Production(II) - Multi-production forming machine -)

  • This study consists of two parts. The first discusses the development of a single production forming machine which was reported in earlier papers. The second outlines the development of a multi-production forming machine, which consists primarily of a film feeding unit, an unwinding unit, and a heating block unit. The heating block unit of the multi-production forming machine has 30 members per die. An analysis of the stress deformation and temperature deviation of this machine is carried out using ANSYS Workbench and CFX-11 under the design conditions. According to this analysis, the maximum deflection in the Z-direction is $0.05104{\mu}m$ and the maximum temperature deviation is $0.7^{\circ}C$ when the temperature of the heating block unit is $175^{\circ}C$. It was also found that these values are structurally safe. The advantage of the developed multi-production forming machine is demonstrated to be in its offering of a proper voice test.

수종의 dowel pin systems을 이용한 가철성 다이의 위치 안정성에 관한 비교 연구 (COMPARATIVE STUDY ON THE POSITIONAL STABILITY OF REMOVABLE DIES USING SEVERAL DOWEL PIN SYSTEMS)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the positional stability of removable dies using several dowel pin systems. The removable dies were made by using five dowel pin systems: single dowel pin(Group I), single dowel pin and prepared groove on the die base(Group II), two-single dowel pin(Group III), two separate parallel dowel pins with plastic sleeves(Group IV), double straight dowel pins with metal sleeve(Group V). Special aluminum mold was made for specimens, and the dies of specimens removed and replaced thirty times with universal testing machine. Horizontal and vertical shift of dies was measured by Olympus monocular scanning tunneling microscope(STM5). The results were as follows: 1. The vertical shift was larger than the horizontal shift in all the other groups except Group I. 2. Single dowel pin system(Group I) was the most unstable of five dowel pin systems. 3. Double dowel pin systems with steeve(group IV, V) were the most stable of five dowel pin systems. 4. This study indicates that excellent horizontal positional stability is attainable with use of additional groove on the die base or double dowel pin. and excellent vertical positional stability is attainable with use of sleeve.

High Performance Gear Obtained by Die Warm Compaction and Rapid Cooling Process

  • PM recent developments focus on increasing this technology's competitiveness when compared to wrought materials. Warm compaction allows the replacement of a double press double sinter process with a single warm press and sintering step, thus allowing cost and time savings. Moreover there are added benefits to consider such as reducing work in process and lessening part's logistics cost. This paper presents a successful industrial trial to replace a double press-double sinter process with a warm die compaction and sintering process. The part chosen was a high performance gear containing 0,9% wt. carbon. Sintering was conducted in a belt furnace at $1120^{\circ}C$ in a nitrogen rich atmosphere with rapid cooling process in order to obtain a quasi fully martensitic structure with a minimum of 700HV0,1 and 450HV10 after annealing. The balance between properties and cost is favoured by the use of a singular lubricant developed in a Eureka frame project together with POMETON S.A. and die warm compaction. Warm compaction is only needed to be effective on the gear teeth, in order to achieve the required properties. Therefore only the die is actually heated. This simplified system avoids flow rate problems typically involved when using more elaborate warm compaction equipments.

  • The extruder type is classified as screw type and non-screw type in terms of the extrusion method. The screw type extruder, which is the most frequently used, is classified as the single screw extruder and the multi-screw extruder. They are classified as vertical type and horizontal type in terms of structure; and those for compounding and for forming in terms of function. The single screw extruder is a universal extruder, most of which is suitable for the extrusion forming of thermoplastic resin. The multi-screw(two-screw, three-screw and four-screw) extruder can increase the extrusion power using the engagement of the screw flank. The single screw extruder does not have a good mixing ratio of the raw material and stable extrusion power, while it has low construction cost and operation cost. In this study, the single screw extruder, which has many weak points compared with the multi-screw extruder, was studied. There have been many studies on the single screw extruder, and they led to its significant development. The existing study method, however, had complex analysis processes and required much time. In this study, the CFD was applied to the performance test and analysis of the extruder, and the optimal design condition of the extrusion power for the screw and die of the single screw extruder was found by comparing the analysis results with the actual performance measurement of the single screw extruder.

드로오비드 인출특성에 관한 유한요소해석 및 실험적 검증 (Finite Element Analysis and Experimental Verification for the Drawing Characteristics Through Drawbeads)

  • Theoretical and experimental drawing characteristics for the single circular and square drawbeads are discussed. During the blank holding process, the strain distributions of upper and lower skins of specimens, and the die reactional forces are analysed by F. E. M., and they are compared with the experimental results. The drawbead restraining forces and strain distributions for the drawn specimens by the various drawing length are also analysed and compared with the experimental results. It is concluded that the theoretical simulations and results could be very useful for the prediction of real cases.

  • Direct laser melting (DLM) is a powder-based additive manufacturing process to produce parts by layer-by-layer laser melting. As the properties of the manufactured parts depend strongly on the deposited laser-melted bead, deposited layers obtained by the DLM process were characterized in this study. This investigation used a 200 W fiber laser to produce single-line beads under a variety of different energy distributions. In order to obtain a feasible range for the two main process parameters (i.e. laser power and scan rate), bead shapes of single track deposition were intensively investigated. The effects of the processing parameters, such as powder layer thickness and scan spacing, on geometries of the deposited layers have also been analyzed. As a result, minimum energy criteria that can achieve a complete melting have been suggested at the given powder layer thickness. The surface roughnesses of the deposited beads were strongly dependent on the overlap ratio of adjacent beads and on the energy distributions of laser power. Through microstructural analysis and hardness measurement, the morphological and mechanical properties of the deposited layers at various overlapped beads have also been characterized.

다점 펀치를 이용한 조선용 곡판 냉간 성형 방법 연구 (A Study on Cold Forming of Curved Thick Plate by Reconfigurable Multi-Punch Dies)

  • Curved thick plate forming in shipbuilding industry is currently performed by a thermal process, called as Line Heating by using gas flame torches. It was examined as an alternative way in this study to manufacture curved thick plates by the multi-punch die forming. Experiments and finite element analyses were conducted to evaluate the feasibility of the reconfigurable discrete die forming to the thick plates. Configuration of the multi-punch dies suitable for multi-curvature was investigated. As a result, single step forming by reconfigurable discrete die with scale factor improved formability.

가상 측정을 통한 펜슬곡선 추출 (Pencil Curve Tracing via Virtual Digitizing)

  • Pencil-curve machining, which is a single-pass ball-end milling along a concave edge on adie surface, is widely employed in die-surface machining. The cutter-path used for pencil-curve machining, which is the trajectory of the “ball-center point” of a ball-endmill sliding along a concave-edge region on the die surface, is called pencil-curve. Presented in the paper is a pencil-curve tracing algorithm in which “concave-type” sharp edges are computed from a “virtually digitized” model of the tool-envelope surface. The resulting “initial” pencil-cures are then refuted by applying a series of fairing operations. illustrative examples and methods for enhancing accuracy are also presented. The proposed pencil-curve tracing algorithm has been successfully implemented in a commercial CAM system specialized in die-machining and in the CAD/CAM system CATIA.

반응표면분석에 의한 쌀 압출성형물의 품질평가 (Quality Measurement of Rice - Mixture Extrudate by the Response Surface Regression Analysis)

  • The study was designed to investigate overall acceptability of rice extrudate with added ginseng flour extruded by single screw extruder. Graphic three dimension analysis on response surface regression was conducted for overall acceptability evaluated by balanced incomplete block design. Overall acceptability, which formed a saddle point, increased as moisture content increased at lower die temperature, and as moisture content decreased at higher die temperature. Critical values of each variable which indicated optimum response are 5.0% ginseng content, 17.8% moisture content and 104.6$^{\circ}C$ die temperature, and optimum inferred score of overall acceptability is 59.6 and 90.
