Korean folk medicine 'Sin Seong Cho' (神聖草)has been used to cure common cold, neuralgia and cancer of the stomach in Korea. The botanical origin of the crude drug has been no pharmacognostical confirmation on it. To clarify the botanical origin of 'Sin Seong Cho', the morphological and anatomical characteristics of the rhizomes of Davallia mariesii Moore and Neocheiropteris ensata (Thunb.) Ching growing in Korea were examined. As the result, it was made clear that 'Sin Seong Cho' from Korea was derived from the rhizomes of Davallia mariesii, rarely from the rhizomes of Neocheiropteris ensata.

We obtain the asymptotic distributions of tests statistics for various types of seasonal cointegration based on GRR estimators of Ahn and Cho (2003). These tests are useful in testing for restrictions about cointegrating vectors after Chi-square tests for CCI and common PCIV in Ahn and Cho (2003) or tests for the known CCI and the known PCIVs have been performed.

의약용 인간 단백질은 현재 여러 제약으로 인해 동물 세포에서 만들어지고 있다. 그렇지만 곤충세포 시스템의 문제점인 수율과 배양의 까다로움과 같은 단점들을 보완할 수 있는 곤충세포 시스템 개발의 필요성이 대두되고 있고 본 연구에서는 의약용으로 많이 생산되고 있는 erythropoietin (EPO)을 Drosophila S2 cell에서 발현하여 CHO cell 유래의 EPO와 비교하였다. 그 결과 CHO cell에서보다 더 작은 분자량을 갖는 EPO를 확인하였다.

Expert system is an effective approach for quality system to be automated and thus to be an essential integrating mechanism in any move towards CIM(Computer Integrated Manufacturing). A quality control expert system is introduced and its relationship to CIM is illustrated in a case study. Process control expert system developed by Kim and Sin[6] has been improved via ODBC(Open DataBase Connectivity) for efficient information network, graph representation using Windows API for rapid response and some new rules for identification of patterns in control charts.

본 논문은 일정을 고려한 추천여행 프로그램으로써 휴가철 외에도 짧은 휴일 간 사용자의 일정을 고려한 효율적인 여행을 추천해 준다. 이 프로그램은 고성능 컴퓨팅 시스템의 성능을 통해 효율적인 여행루트를 추천한다. 본 연구는 출발지에서 도착지간의 이동시간을 최소화한다. 또한 이 연구는 출발지와 도착지를 입력 하였을 때, 프로그램 내에서 그 거리상에 위치한 추천여행지를 알려준다. 이때 작업을 할당 받은 프로그램은 또 다른 GPS시스템과 일정 프로그램으로 작업을 이주시켜 여행 루트와 일정 작업을 균등하게 유지함으로써 작업의 대기시간을 줄이고, 각 작업의 수행시간을 단축한다. 본 논문에서는 시뮬레이션을 통하여 제안하는 일정을 고려한 추천여행 프로그램이 기존의 스스로 계획하여 떠나는 여행의 우수함을 보인다.

In this study, the selective-wettability-inscription (SWI) technique for the wet-etchingless fabrication of surface microstructures applicable to wide-viewing liquid crystal displays (LCDs) on plastic substrates was demonstrated. On the basis of the selective wetting of the photopolymer, the bi-level microstructures were spontaneously formed to serve as spacers for maintaining uniform cell gap and protrusions for the generation of multi-domains. The LC cell that has bi-level microstructures shows good extinction in the field-off state and a wide-viewing property in the field-on state. The SWI technique would be useful for the fabrication of flexible displays on plastic substrates.

We investigate the effects of the misspecification of cointegrating(CI) ranks at other frequencies on the inference of seasonal models at the frequency of interest; our study includes tests for CI ranks and estimation of CI vectors. Earlier studies focused mostly on a single frequency corresponding to one seasonal root at a time, ignoring possible cointegration at the remaining frequencies. We investigate the effects of the mis-specification, especially in finite samples, by adopting Gaussian reduced rank(GRR) estimation by Ahn and Reinsel (1994) that considers cointegration at all frequencies of seasonal unit roots simultaneously. It is observed that the identification of the seasonal CI rank at the frequency of interest is sensitive to the mis-prespecification of the CI ranks at other frequencies, mainly when the CI ranks at the remaining frequencies are underspecified.
