SID 시뮬레이터와 자바 컴포넌트 연동 모듈 개발 (Developing a Bridge Module to Java Component for SID Simulator)

  • Simulation tools help creating a low cost and efficient development of embedded system. SID is an open source simulator software that consists library of components for modelling hardware and software components. A component can be written in C/C++ and Tcl/Tk. Currently, the SID simulation toolkit only provides support for C++ and Tcl/Tk. Tcl/Tk is used to write GUI-based components. However, we have observed that Tcl/Tk components cause slow simulation response because Tcl/Tk is a script language. It is not proper for developing the cutting-edge products with rich graphics. Therefore, in this paper, we suggest Java to a new language for GUI components in SID by developing a bridge module for SID to interworking with Java components.

A study of deterioration of reinforced concrete beams under various forms of simulated acid rain attack in the laboratory

  • This paper studies the behaviour of deteriorated reinforced concrete (RC) beams attacked by various forms of simulated acid rain. An artificial rainfall simulator was firstly designed and evaluated. Eleven RC beams ($120mm{\times}200mm{\times}1800mm$) were then constructed in the laboratory. Among them, one was acting as a reference beam and the others were subjected to three accelerated corrosion methods, including immersion, wetting-drying, and artificial rainfall methods, to simulate the attack of real acid rain. Acid solutions with pH levels of 1.5 and 2.5 were considered. Next, ultrasonic, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), dynamic, and three-point bending tests were performed to investigate the mechanical properties of concrete and flexural behaviour of the RC beams. It can be concluded that the designed artificial simulator can be effectively used to simulate the real acid rainfall. Both the immersion and wetting-drying methods magnify the effects of the real acid rainfall on the RC beams.

틸팅 차량용 시뮬레이터 적용을 위한 통제 및 가상현실 영상 시스템 개발 (Development of a Control and Virtual Realty Visual System for the Tilting Train Simulator)

  • This paper presents a development of the control and the virtual reality visual system for a tilting train simulator. The user of the tilting train simulator is able to set up the environmental and operating conditions through the user interface provided by the control system. In the control system, an arbitrary track which has user-defined curve radius, length and direction can be generated. The virtual reality visual system provides an artificial environment that is composed of several facilities such as station, platform, track, bridge, tunnel and signaling system. In order to maximize the reality, all of the 3D modeling were based on the real photographs taken in the Jungang line. A dome screen with 1600mm diameter was used to maximize the view angle. The hemispherical screen can ensure the view angle of the 170 degrees of vertical direction and 135 degrees of lateral direction.

  • This paper describes prototype Virtual Reality Ship Simulator (VRSS) that we have recently developed next-generation training equipment based on the virtual reality (VR) technology. The inherent defects of conventional ship simulators are enormous costs and difficult system upgrade due to the system construction, such as large mock-up bridge system, wide visual presentations, In this paper, to cope with those problems, we explored VR technology that can give realistic environments in a virtual world. Then we constructed prototype VRSS system, which is, consists of PC-based human sensors, and Databases set having 3D object models and coefficients of Head Related Transfer Functions (HRTFs). 3D-WEBMASTER authoring tool was used as Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML). Using the VRSS system, we constructed Port an Passage Simulator for the harbor of INCHON in Korea, and Ship and Sea State Simulator for an arbitrary given sea environmental states by user. Through many simulation tests, we testified the efficiency of developed prototype VRSS by subject assessment with five participants. Then, we present results on the simulation experiments and conclude with discussion of evaluation results.

Analysis of School Safety Education Utilization with Educational Game Elements

  • In order to create and utilize experiential equipment that can be effectively used in school safety education, this paper uses the Korean Safety Education Association's CPR simulator to utilize the elements of educational games: goals, rules, competition, challenge, fantasy, safety, and fun. When the content that combines game elements with general educational equipment was utilized in school education sites, significant results were obtained on the effectiveness of education with active participation of students.

  • 기존의 Passenger Boarding Bridge Controller는 PLC Type Controller 등으로 복합적으로 구성하는데 본 연구에서는 16bit Micro Processor를 이용한 전용 콘트롤러를 적용해 각종 고급기능을 부여하고, 안전하고 유연한 운전이 가능하도록 하였고 기존의 수동 운전에 필요한 각종 조작 스위치를 부가하였으며, TFT LCD Color Display 및 Touch Screen을 장착하여 자동 운전을 위한 각종 조작이 용이하도록 하여 유지관리에 필요한 각종정보를 화면상에 표시하여 조작자로 하여금 PBBC(Passenger Boarding Bridge Controller)의 각종상태를 쉽고 빠르게 파악 할 수 있도록 시뮬레이터를 설계 및 제작을 하였다. 그 결과 기존의 방식보다 성능면은 비슷하였고 기능면에서는 다양하게 기능을 검정을 할 수가 있었다. 향후 연구 지속시 다양한 개선이 되라 보아진다.

주행 시뮬레이터를 활용한 운전자 중심의 교량 진동 사용성 평가기준 연구 (A Study on Assessment of Vibration Serviceability of Highway Bridges Using Driving Simulator)

  • 본 연구는 기존의 진동 처짐에 대한 교량 사용성 평가기준 연구 내용을 바탕으로 최첨단 모의운전 차량실험기(Advanced Driving Simulator)를 이용하여 운전자가 교량 주행 시 진동으로 인해 느끼는 주행안락도를 평가하는 기준을 제안하였다. 열차승객을 대상으로 하는 Reiher-Meister Curve의 적용성을 파악하고 교량 계측결과와 구조해석 결과를 토대로 수정 Reiher-Meister Curve 제안하였다. 교량운전자 중심의 사용성 평가를 위한 수정 Reiher-Meister Curve는 A에서 D까지 4등급으로 규정되었다. 새로운 진동감각곡선은 교량 사용자 중심의 교량 설계 및 유지관리분야에 널리 사용될 수 있을 것이다.

Integrated fire dynamic and thermomechanical modeling of a bridge under fire

  • This paper proposes a nonlinear computational modeling approach for the behaviors of structural systems subjected to fire. The proposed modeling approach consists of fire dynamics analysis, nonlinear transient-heat transfer analysis for predicting thermal distributions, and thermomechanical analysis for structural behaviors. For concretes, transient heat formulations are written considering temperature dependent heat conduction and specific heat capacity and included within the thermomechanical analyses. Also, temperature dependent stress-strain behaviors including compression hardening and tension softening effects are implemented within the analyses. The proposed modeling technique for transient heat and thermomechanical analyses is first validated with experimental data of reinforced concrete (RC) beams subjected to high temperatures, and then applied to a bridge model. The bridge model is generated to simulate the fire incident occurred by a gas truck on April 29, 2007 in Oakland California, USA. From the simulation, not only temperature distributions and deformations of the bridge can be found, but critical locations and time frame where collapse occurs can be predicted. The analytical results from the simulation are qualitatively compared with the real incident and show good agreements.

공정 및 공급전압 변화에 강인한 하프브리지 구동 IC의 설계 (Design of a Robust Half-bridge Driver IC to a Variation of Process and Power Supply)

  • In this paper, we propose a novel shoot-through protection circuit and pulse generator for half-bridge driver IC. We designed a robust half-bridge driver IC over a variation of processes and power supplies. The proposed circuit is composed a delay circuit using a beta-multiplier reference. The proposed circuit has a lower variation rate of dead time and pulse-width over variation of processes and supply voltages than the conventional circuit. Especially, the proposed circuit has more excellent pulse-width matching of set and reset signals than the conventional circuit. Also, the proposed pulse generator is prevented from fault operations using a logic gate. Dead time and pulse-width of the proposed circuit are typical 250 ns, respectively. The variation ratio is 68%(170 ns) of maximum over variation of processes and supply voltages. The proposed circuit is designed using $1\;{\mu}m$ 650 V BCD (Bipolar, CMOS, DMOS) process parameter, and the simulations are carried out using Spectre simulator of Cadence corporation.

조종부하와 조선곤란성의 관계에 관하여 (Relation with Operational Stress and Environmental Difficulty on Maneuvering of Ship)

  • 수역에서 항행할 시, 선박운항자는 위험을 회피하기 위해 타와 주기관 사용 등 여러 가지 조종요소를 사용하게 된다. 그 때 어느 정도의 조작량을 사용하는 가에 관해서는 선박운항자 개인의 특성에 따라 그 사용량 및 빈도는 달라지게 된다. 그러나 이러한 조종 요소의 빈번한 사용은 선박운항자에게 일정한 부하를 주게 될 것으로 생각된다. 본 연구에서는 이 부하를 조종부하로 정의하고, 교각이 설치된 직선 항로를 통항하는 시뮬레이터 실험을 통하여 조선 곤란성과의 관계를 접근하고자 하였다. 사용한 변수 항목으로는 우회와 감속과 이러한 조종 행동에 따른 항행시간 연장률 및 조선 곤란성(Environmental Stress) 수치를 이용하였다.
