  • We discussed how to handle missing binary data clinical trials. Patterns of occurring missing data are discussed and introduce missing binary data imputation methods that include the modified method. A simulation is performed by modifying actual data for each method. The condition of this simulation is controlled by a response rate and a missing value rate. We list the simulation results for each method and discussed them at the end of this paper.

  • In this study, radar data integrating and processing systems were designed for the data processing of various information from many kinds of radar in a single data processing system. The characteristics of the data integrating system were analyzed by the system simulation with the queueing theory. The designed data integrating systems can be divided into a centralized and a distributed type. In the system structure, we used UNIX message que as the real time processor and the queueing theory for the performance evaluation of the information flow in the systems. For the analysis of the performance of inforamtion flow in both models, queueing theory was applied to and implemented with the simulation package, OPNET system and C language. From the simulation result we could understand the system factors which effect the system performance and characteristics on the data processing.

  • Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an effective decision-making platform that helps to save project cost and enhance quality of construction. By generating and linking a wide variety of objects data, BIM can be effectively utilized, and it should be ensured that object properties maintain consistency throughout the project period of design, estimates, construction, maintenance and repair. This study examined how to utilize BIM data in a construction project, by linking cost and schedule data in web environment, to better utilize the information and maintain consistency of the BIM information. To do so, the model integrated WBS data and CBS data, linked them with BIM model to realize 5D simulation in web environment. As a result, cost and schedule data could be simultaneously acquired, and object properties-cost, schedule, location-as well. These are expected to contribute to developing a BIM-based automatic data-processing system in web environment.

  • Synthetic environment data used in defense M&S fields, which came from various organization and source, are consumed and managed by their own native database system in distributed environment. But to manage these diverse data while interoperation in HLA/RTI environment, neutral synthetic environment data model is necessary to transmit the data between native database. By the support of DMSO, SEDRIS was developed to achieve this requirement and this specification guarantees loss-less data representation, interchange and interoperability. In this research, to use SEDRIS as a standard simulation database, base research, visualization for validation, data interchange experiment through test-bed was done. This paper shows each research case, result and future research direction, to propose standardized SEDRIS usage process.

  • The orbit has a very special anatomical structure. The complex anatomical structure should be restored when we encounter the patient with orbital wall fracture. Unless these specific anatomy were reconstructed well, the patient should suffer from various complications such enophthalmos, diplopia or orbital deformity. In addition, because the patient has a his own specific orbital shape, individualized approach will be necessary. The aim of this trial is to try to restore the original orbit anatomy as possible based on the mirrored three dimensional CT images based on the computer simulation. Preoperative computed tomography (CT) data were processed for the patient and a rapid prototyping (RP) model was produced. At the same time, the uninjured side was mirrored and superimposed onto the traumatized side, to create a mirror-image of the RP model. In order to restore the missing skipped images between the cuts of CT data because of the thinness of the orbital walls, we manipulated the DICOM data for imaging the original orbital contour using the preoperatively manufactured mirror-image of the RP model. And we fabricated Titanium-Medpor to reconstruct three-dimensional orbital structure intraoperatively. This prefabricated Titanium-Medpor was then inserted onto the defected orbital wall and fixed. Three dimensional approach based on the computer simulation turned out to be very successful in this patient. Individualized approach for each patient could be an ideal way to manage the traumatic patients in near future.

  • Because of the fast changing car design and increasing facilities, manufacturing process of cars is getting more complex now a days. Particularly, car manufacturing system that consist of automated devices, applies various simulation techniques to validate device motion and detect collision. To cope with this problem, traditional manufacturing system deployed test-run with the real devices. However, increased computing power in a contemporary manufacturing system changes it into realistic 3D simulation environment. Similarly, managed device data that was generated using 2D traditionally, can be converted to 3D realistic simulation. The existing problem with 3D simulation is disjoint data interaction between different work stations. Consequently, JIGs, fixing the car part accurately, are changed according to fixing position on the part or a part shape properties. In practice, the 3D JIG data has to be managed according to kinematic information, but not of its features. However, generating kinematic information to the 3D model repeatedly according to frequent change in part is not explained in current literatures. To fill this knowledge gap, this paper suggests an improving method of rendering 3D JIG kinematics information to simulation model. Thereafter, it shows the result of implementation.

  • Purpose: This paper aims to investigate whether consumers' mental simulation and self-brand connections influence purchase intention and how the characteristics of advertisings' nonverbal information (congruence among multisensory cues) and verbal messages (self-referencing point and narrative structure) jointly shape mental simulation and self-brand connections. Research design, data and methodology: This paper develops a sportswear advertising and totally collected 225 data through the online survey platform "WenJuanXing". To exam the hypotheses in this paper, structural equation model is conducted in AMOS 21.0 via using 210 valid data. Results: The findings reveal that consumers who engage in mental simulation or establish the connections between them and the brands are more likely to present high purchase intention. Moreover, the characteristics of congruence among multisensory cues, self-referencing points and narrative structure can not only facilitate consumers' mental simulation but also encourage consumers to create connections between them and the brands. Conclusions: This paper develops the advertising research via exploring the characteristics of advertisings' nonverbal information (multisensory cues) and verbal messages simultaneously. And suggesting that both of consumers' mental simulation and self-brand connections are the important approaches for advertisers to effectively increase consumers' purchase intention. Finally, the limitations and suggestions are concluded for the future research.

  • Traditional construction planning based on historical data and heuristic adjustment can no longer incorporate all the operational details and guarantee the expected performance. The variation between the expected and the actual production leads to cost overruns or delay. Although predicting reliable productivity on construction site is getting more important, the difficulty of this increases. In this regard, this paper suggested to develop BIM-integrated simulation framework. This framework could predict productivity dynamics by considering factors affecting on construction productivity at operational phase. We developed the following processes; 1) enabling a BIM model to produce input data for simulation; 2) developing the construction operation simulation; 3) running simulation using BIM data and obtaining productivity results. The BIM-integrated simulation framework was tested with structural steel erection model because steel erection work is one of the most critical process influencing on the whole construction budget and duration. We could improve to predict more dynamic productivity from this framework, and this reliable productivity helps construction managers to optimize resource allocation, increase schedule reliability, save storage cost, and reduce material loss.

  • A hospital is the most important infra-facility of the places which take care of people's body in social environment. There exist several environmental factors in the ways to heal the human body in hospital ward, but this study tried to look into the improvable pleasant sickroom environment with focus on light environment among the factors. In other words, this study aims at the research on proper daylight inflow into sickroom space as basic data for understanding the link between healing environment and natural lighting. In the simulation analysis through this research, this study completed the initial simulation using Autodesk Revit 2011 with focus on two types of individual multi-bed room units of the two general hospitals located in Gwangju City. This study made a simulation analysis of The two multi-bed rooms looking to the west using the weather data on Gwangju district, which is the strong point of ECOTECT2011. Conclusively, looking into the analysis of the simulation model in time of attaching the length of in & outside light shelf, the angle controlling of light shelf, the daylight factor and DA were found to show the tendency to decrease in the numerical value due to the decrease in sunlight inflow as the simulation model moved more toward the room from the window in comparison with the existing analysis of multi-bed rooms. Particularly, this study was able to read that the daylight factor and DA were more decreasing to improve at the light shelf than the existing bedrooms; conclusively, this study judges that the natural lighting simulation analysis could be helpful in improving the healing environment as basic data.
