  • Moment-based reliability analysis is the method to calculate reliability using Pearson System with first-four raw moments obtained from simulation model. But it is too expensive to calculate first four moments from complicate simulation model. To overcome this drawback the MD(multiplicative decomposition) method which approximates simulation model to kriging metamodel and calculates first four raw moments explicitly with multiplicative decomposition techniques. In general, kriging metamodel is an interpolation model that is decomposed of global model and local model. The global model, in general, can be used as the constant global model, the 1st order global model, or the 2nd order global model. In this paper, the influences of global models on the accuracy and robustness of raw moments are examined and compared. Finally, we suggest the best global model which can provide exact and robust raw moments using MD method.

  • As most systems get more complicated, system analysis using simulation has been taken notice of. One of the core parts of simulation analysis is validation of a simulation model, and we can identify how well the simulation model represents the real system with this validation process. The difference between input data of two systems has an effect on the comparison between a simulation model and a real system at validation stage, and the result with such difference is not enough to ensure high credibility of the model. Accordingly, in this paper, we construct a model based on Trace-driven simulation which uses identical input data with the real system. On the other hand, to validate a model by each class, not by an unique statistic, we validate the model using a metric transformed from F-measure which estimates performance of a classifier in data mining field. Finally, this procedure enables precise validation process of a model, and it helps modification by offering feedback at the validation phase.

  • Hot rolled strip is cooled by air and water in Run-Out-Table. In this process, phase transformation and shape deformation occurs due to temperature drop. Because of un-ideal cooling condition of ROT, irregular shape deformation and phase transformation arise in the strip. which affect the strip property and lead to the residual stress of strip. And these exert effects on the following processes, coiling process, coil cooling process, and re-coiling process. Through these processes, the residual stress becomes higher and severe. For the prediction of residual stress distribution and shape deformation of final product, Finite element(FE) based model was used. It consists of non-steady state heat transfer analysis, elasto-plastic analysis. thermodynamic analysis and phase transformation kinetics. Successive FEM simulation were applied from ROT process to coil cooling process. In each process simulation, previous process simulation results were used for the next process simulation. The simulation results were matched well with the experimental results.

  • In this paper, a three-dimensional model for the dynamic analysis of a flywheel based on the finite element method is presented. The static structure analysis for the model provides stress and strain distribution cloud charts. The modal analysis provides the basis of dynamic analysis due to its ability to obtain the natural frequencies and the vibration-made vectors of the first 10 orders. The results show the main faults are attrition and cracks, while also indicating the locations and patterns of faults. The harmonic response simulation was performed to gain the vibration response of the flywheel under operation. In this paper, we present a Hilbert-Huang transform (HHT) algorithm for flywheel vibration analysis. The simulation indicated that the proposed flywheel vibration signal analysis method performs well, which means that the method can lay the foundation for the detection and diagnosis in a reactor main coolant pump.

  • This paper describes a new automated simulation system for micromachines whose size range $10^{-6}$ to $10^{-3}$ m. An automic finite element (FE) mesh generation technique, which is bases on the fuzzy knowledge processing and computation al geometry technique, is incorporated into the system, together with one of commerical FE analysis codes, MARC, and one of commerical solid modelers, Designbase. The system allows a geometry model of concern to be automatically converted to different FE models, depending on physical phenomena of micromachines to be analyzed, i,e. electrostatic analysis, stress analysis, modal analysis and so on. The FE models are then automatically analyzed using the FE analysis code. Among a whole process of analysis, the definition of a geometry model, the designation of local node patterns and the assignment of material properties and boundary conditions onto the geometry model are only the interactive process to be done by a user. The interactive operations can be processed in a few minutes. The other processes which are time consuming and labour-intensive in conventional CAE systems are fully automatically performed in a popular engineering workstation environment. This automated simulation system is successfully applied to evaluate an electrostatic micro wobble actuator.

  • WiBro(Mobile WiMAX) has gained momentum as a top candidate to deliver the dream of full mobile wireless internet. To save cost and time in WiBro network design, simulation tool has to deploy powerful and useful analysis functions. If path loss model is more accurate, the reliability of analysis result of simulation tool will be much improved. So we emphasize on the importance of pathloss model in WiBro network design in this paper. For this, we introduce to three kinds of pathloss models(SUI, SCM, SCM-E) supposed properly models in WiBro RF (Radio Frequency) environment. Also we treat from basic theory to practical substance on the pathloss model to adopt WiBro network design/optimization. Finally, we describe about wireless network analysis tool named 'CellPLAN(R)' and techniques possible to improvethe accuracy of pathloss model.

  • This paper focuses on the technical information about the development of the submarine operational effectiveness simulation model for the feasibility study stage of the submarine design. The simulation model is classified into simulation control model and system model. Using user input and related performance parameters, it can simulate various scenarios by no change of the program because it includes tactic manager which makes decision about every situation. And the Monte-Carlo simulation mode which provides the stochastic results is available. Through the test simulation, the usefulness of the simulation model was verified. It should be helpful for the analysis of the submarine operational effectiveness by diversified scenarios in the concept design phase..

  • This paper presents the first Simulation model using EMTDC program to analyze the electrified train voltage distribution characteristics in ac auto-transformer 1110 railroads. In general, all of the electrified train supply system has the characteristics that the train supply line is a naturally non-symmetrical and unbalanced system. Also, it is needed to model the Scott transformer which invert the balanced 3-phase quantity into 2-phase. Therefore, the general simulation methodology using previous simplified equivalent circuit or RMS based program can't obtain the accurate results to reflect the real-time operation because these methodology is basically assumed on completely 3-phase balanced system. To overcome these defects, in this paper, the EMTDC simulation model to analysis the completely electrified railroad system with Scott transformer and AC auto-transformer is presented. Also, the correctness of EMTDC modeling is confirmed by the old basic concepts and we think that this EMTDC model has the future powerful capability for application of railroad system analysis.

  • The instabilities in rocket engines and gas turbine combustors due to the interaction between the fluid flow (acoustics) and the heat transfer (thermal energy) are called thermoacoustic or combustion instabilities. Almost all analysis assumes constant hot section temperature for Modern mathematical analysis of acoustic oscillations in Rijke type devices. However, it is impossible to predict whether a system is stable or not because the flame or heater response model can have a dramatic effect on predicted growth rates. In this study, A standard ${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ turbulent model and hybrid combustion model(eddy breakup model and chemical reaction) were used. After steady solution was gotten, unsteady calculation is simulated by perturbating on pressure boundary. As a result, we obtained the relationship of equivalence ratio and frequency by numerical simulation, and they are comparable to the experimental result. In addition, in spite of these results, there are limitations of using turbulent and combustion model in simulation method of thermoacoutic instability
