The androgenic gland secretes a hormone, androgenic gland hormone, which is believed to act on the differentiation of the primary, secondary, and behavioral sex characteristics in most malacostracan crustaceans. This report presents the ultrastructural morphology of the androgenic gland in the freshwater prawn Macrobrachium nipponense. This gland, located in the coxopodite of the last pair of walking legs, was attached to the subterminal region of the sperm duct. The gland was composed of simple cellular strands, encased by a fibrous sheath. Microvilli were situated in the fibrous sheath, especially at the edge of each cellular strand. The androgenic gland cells had the large and round nucleus and rough endoplasmic reticulum arranged either in spirals or in concentric circles throughout the cytoplasm of the cell. They also had the well-developed Golgi complex and long mitochondria with flat and transverse cristae. The Golgi complex was similar to microvesicular cluster, but usually in the shape of typical dictyosomes, These features of androgenic gland cells coincides well with the protein/peptide secretion in their function. However, despite the apparent ultastructual equipment for protein/peptide secretion, no accumulation of materials secreted were noticed in the cytoplasm. Therefore it is strongly suggested that the transient transportation of the materials into the hemocoel has occurred just after synthesis.

The purpose of this study is to present the relationship between the computer learning and the paper and pencil learning through the math learning (simple computation and complex computation) and the cartoon learning and text learning. The canonical correlation and pairwise t-test of the SMR asymmetry brainwaves of the left and the right brain show the brainwaves with the respect to the manner in which they process information during the specified task by identifying the relative activity of the brainwaves of the left and the right brain. SMR brainwave which known as the scientific measure tool for the activity and the function of the neuronal cell were found to predict the level of the awakening to check the readiness of study preparation. Computer education as a medium of the individualized and the repetitive education shows the difference from the paper and the pencil test in the respect of the differences and the relationship of the SMR brainwave of the learning process.
This article explores the historical evolutionary process of the biopharmaceutical industry of Korea, and how intentional and unintentional policy interventions have triggered the creation of the industry's system dynamics and paved the way for the generation of a few global leading products, including biosimilar, as well as next-generation therapeutics of gene and cell. The policies cover the simple technology transfer of API synthesis to overcome the endemic parasitic disease, new substance patent adoption and new drug development consortia, human resource development, various national initiatives influenced by the Human Genome Project, and venture promotion schemes. The scope and implementation tools under these policies have been aligned and refined to transform traditional fine chemical-based pharmaceuticals, to stimulate large companies' participation and to create technology-based venture companies in the biopharma business of Korea.
There are many different approaches to healing of acute and chronic ulcer and large skin defect, such as burn. Currently available wound covers fall into two categories. Permanent covering, such as autografts, and temporary ones, such as allograft including de-epidermized cadaver skin, bioartificial skin, xenografts, and synthetic dressings. Autologous skin grafting in the form of split- or full-thickness skin is still the good standard. Following on from developments in the 1980s involving the use of cultured keratinocyte grafts in wound healing, the last decade has been great progress in the fabrication of composite bioartificial skin grafts. However, two bottleneck on producing cultured bioartificial skin, whether of the simple epithelial cell sheet type, or the more complex composite type, continue to be the generation of sufficient keratinocytes cheaply and quickly and develop biocompatible dermal scaffolds. This article covers the development, clinical application, and current research directions associated with bioartificial skin.

The heavy chain monoclonal antibody (HC MAb) was produced in suspension cultures of genetically modified Nicotiana tabacum. The HC MAb secreted to the medium was unstable due to unfavorable interactions in the plant cell medium. The addition of gelatin (5g/l) stabilized the extracellular HC MAb and increased its production 10-fold. A kinetic model was developed describing the interaction between the secretedprotein and the stabilizer. The model accounted for the inactivation of the protein by simple aggregation and general instability. It was assumed that the secreted protein and the stabilizer form a stable complex. Culturing the cells semicontinuously could further increase the productivity of HC MAb.
In this paper we report the optimization method of the pattern size of the electrodes in PVA LCD for the transflective mode in order to improve the optical characteristics. Moreover, we designed the electrode of PVA LCD so as to remove the driving voltage difference between transmissive mode and reflective mode. As a result, we expect very simple manufacturing process and high optical performance even if complex process such as a multi cell gap process and multi driving method are not applied
The advantages of using analogue optical networks for delivering radio signals from a central location to many remote antenna sites have been recognized. In a telecommnications context, radio signals may be for fixed radio access, cordless or mobile networks, but the same principles apply. By making use of the high bandwidth, low loss characteristics of optical fiber, all high frequency and signal processing functions can be performed centrally and signals can then be transported over the optical network directly at the carrier frequency. The remote sites then become very simple, requiring only optoelectronic conversion, filtering and linear amplification. This shifting of the complex functionality away from the remote site allow cheap, reliable, small and light-weight radio access points with low power consumption to be deployed. In this paper, we show that an electroabsorption modulation(EAM) may be used as a single component in such a radio access point, as a passive transceiver for small-sized cell(picocells).

A suitable simple model tested by experiments is required to address complex biological reactions like esterase synthesis by Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Such an approach might be the answer to a proper bioprocessing strategy. In this regard, a logistic model for esterase production from Saccharomyces cerevisiae has been developed, which predicts well the cell mass, the carbon source (glucose) consumption, and the esterase activity. The accuracy of the model has been statistically examined by using the Student's t-test. The parameter sensitivity analysis showed that all five parameters (${\mu}_m$, $K_a$, $X_m$, $Y_{x/s}$, and $Y_{p/x}$) have significant influence on the predicted values of esterase activity.
In many of the complex systems modeled in the field of nuclear engineering, it is often useful to use linear regression-based analyses to analyze relationships between model parameters and responses of interests. In cases where the response of interest is calculated by a simulation which uses Monte Carlo methods, there will be some uncertainty in the responses. Further, the reduction of this uncertainty increases the time necessary to run each calculation. This paper presents some discussion on how the Monte Carlo error in the response of interest influences the error in computed linear regression coefficients. A mathematical justification is given that shows that when performing linear regression in these scenarios, the error in regression coefficients can be largely independent of the Monte Carlo error in each individual calculation. This condition is only true if the total number of calculations are scaled to have a constant total time, or amount of work, for all calculations. An application with a simple pin cell model is used to demonstrate these observations in a practical problem.
