은침점전기자극이 $Na^+$, $K^+$ 이온과 $Ca^{2+}$ 이온변동에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Silver Spike Point Low Frequency Electrical Stimulation on Alteration of $Na^+$, $K^+$ and $Ca^{2+}$ Ions)

  • The present study examined that in vivo test is investigated in sham-operated(control group) and aldosterone-analogue deoxycorticosterone acetate (DOCA)-salt hypertensive animals(experimental group) and that the antihypertensive effect was induced by silver spike point(SSP) low frequency electrical stimulation at meridian points(CV-3, -4, Ki-12, SP-6, LR-3, BL-25, -28, -32, -52), specifically, such as diuretic action in 24 hour urine analysis from normal volunteer. The $Na^+$ and $Ca^{2+}$ ions were significantly increased in aldosterone-analogue DOCA-salt hypertensive rats than that in sham-operated rats. However, the $K^+$ ions were significantly decreased in aldosterone-analogue DOCA-salt hypertensive rats than that in sham-operated rats. The current of 1 Hz continue type of SSP low frequency electrical stimulation significantly increased in excretion of urine $Na^+$ and $K^+$ ions from normal volunteer. However, the excretion of $Ca^{2+}$ ion were significantly decreased by SSP electrical stimulation in volunteer. These results suggest that the development of aldosterone analogue-DOCA-salt hypertension is associated with changed $Na^+$, $K^+$ and $Ca^{2+}$ ions of urine. which directly affects blood pressure. Therefore, the hypertension is a risk factor on cardiovascular disease. Moreover, These results demonstrate that the SSP low frequency electrical stimulation, especially current of 1 Hz continue type, significantly regulates $Na^+$, $Ca^{2+}$ and $K^+$ ions from volunteer. Therefore, the SSP low frequency electrical stimulation is a good regulator through a diuretic action of aldosterone-induced hypertension.

  • A new functionally gradient metal coating method using an atomic mixing technique was developed. In this work the effect of silver atomic mixing on the tribological characteristics of silver$.$ films. has been investigated experimentally. Atomic mixing was implemented by using the, bombardment .of accelerated Ar ions during the thermal evaporation coating process of silver films. Experiments were performed in dry conditions using a ball-on-disk test rig at a load range of 19.6 mN - 17.64 N and a sliding velocity of 20 mm/sec. Results showed that the life of functionally gradient silver coating was enhanced about 100 times more than that of thermally evaporated silver coating and 2 times more than that of IBAD silver coating. Assessment of Bacteria Removal Using Silver Ion Absorbed Ceramic Filter

  • The objective of this study was to evaluate bacteria removal ability of the metallic silver which was baked silver ion impregnated ceramic filter at heating condition. Silver leaking from baked ceramic filter was tested to sustain bacteria removal for a long time. Silver impregnated ceramic filter could remove E. coli completely at $10^{12}$ MPN/100ml to $10^{13}$ MPN/100ml of influent. However, ceramic filter without silver did not remove E. coli completely under the same condition. After baking, the silver impregnated ceramic filter almost didn't leak out the silver ion from filter. Photo of TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy) showed that absorbed silver ions remained in ceramic filter after baking process and most of silver were less than 10 nm. According to the increase in the amount of silver in the ceramic filter, removal efficiencies of E. coli were increased but turbidity removal was decreased. It can be accounted that increased removal efficiency of E. coli was from disinfection of silver that is in the ceramic filter. Simulated concentrations of bacteria agree well with the observed experimental effluent concentration data. Moreover, first-order decay coefficients increased to 0.0034/min after silver was added in the ceramic filter. Increase of first-order decay coefficient proves that silver-added ceramic filter can remove bacteria easily.

올레핀 촉진수송용 고분자 전해질막의 내구성에 대한 Brij98의 효과 (Effect of Brij98 on Durability of Silver Polymer Electrolyte Membranes for Facilitated Olefin Transport)

  • 은 고분자 전해질은 올레핀/파리핀 혼합물 분리에 매우 효과적인 분리막 재료이다. 이는 고분자 매질속에 녹아 있는 은이온이 올레핀과 선택적, 가역적 반응을 통해 올레핀만을 분리막속으로 통과시키기 때문이다. 그러나 이러한 은 고분자 전해질 분리막은 실제 공정에 응용되기에는 다소 약한 장시간 운전 성능 안정성을 보인다. 즉 분리 성능이 시간이 지남에 따라 점차 감소되는데 이는 은이온이 은 나노입자로 환원되기 때문이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP)와 $AgBF_4$로 이루어진 고분자 전해질막의 안정성을 향상시키고자 비이온 계면활성제인 $C_{18}H_{35}(OCH_2CH_2)_{20}OH$ (Brij98)를 첨가제로 사용하였다. 분리막속에서 은이온의 은 나노입자로의 환원현상을 원자전자 현미경과 자외선 분광학을 이용하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 Brij98이 첨가된 분리막의 경우 은 나노입자의 성장이 늦춰졌으며, 프로판/프로핀렌 선택도가 장시간 유지됨을 알 수 있었다.

  • The effects of additive ions on the generation of metallic nanoparticles were evaluated using a corona induced supersonic nozzle. Applying the corona discharge to the nanoparticle generator, a tungsten needle and the supersonic nozzle are used as an anode electrode and a cathode electrode respectively. The corona ions act as nuclei for the silver vapor condensation. The ion density was controlled precisely as varying the applied voltage between electrode and nozzle. The mean diameter of the silver particle decreases as the ion density increases. However, the number concentration of the silver particle tended to increase with the ion density. The size distribution is more uniform as the ion density increases.

Geno- and Ecotoxicity Evaluation of Silver Nanoparticles in Freshwater Crustacean Daphnia magna

  • Genotoxic- and ecotoxic assessments of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were conducted on the freshwater crustacean Daphnia magna. AgNPs may have genotoxic effects on D. magna, given that the DNA strand breaks increased when exposed to this nanoparticle. Increased mortality was concomitantly observed with DNA damage in the AgNPs-exposed D. magna, which suggests AgNPs-induced DNA damage might provoke higher-level consequences. The results of the comparative toxicities of AgNPs and Ag ions suggest that AgNPs are slightly more toxic than Ag ions. Overall, these results suggest that AgNPs may be genotoxic toward D. magna, which may contribute to the knowledge relating to the aquatic toxicity of AgNPs on aquatic ecosystems, for which little data are available.

PVC 를 섞은 요오드화은 막전극에 관한 연구 (Study on PVC Mixed Silver Iodide Membrane Electrode)

  • AgI 가루에 PVC를 섞어 Infrared Pellet Presser로 눌러 만든 Pellet을 이용하여 막전극을 만들고 이것을 지시전극으로 사용하여 $Ag^+$의 활동도에 대한 전위를 측정하였다. 이 막전극의 특성을 순수한 AgI pellet와 PVC로 표면을 입힌 AgI pellet을 이용한 두 막전극의 특성과 비교하였다. 이들 막전극의 은이온 활동도에 대한 감응은 은이온의 농도가 $10^{-1}$M에서 $10^{-6}$M 까지의 범위에서 좋은 직선을 보여준다. 그러나 그 중에서도 AgI가루에 PVC를 섞어서 만든 막전극이 Nernstian 기울기에 가장 잘 맞고 견고하고 장시간 사용할 수 있어 가장 우수함을 알 수 있었다. 이 전극은 은이온 이와의 다른 양이온에 대하여는 거의 감응하지 않고 할로겐화이온, 즉$I^-,CI^-,Br^-,CN^-$에 대한 감응도는 $10^{-1}$M에서 $10^{-6}$M까지 직선관계를 유지하였다. 이 전극은 단일 할로겐화이온 뿐 아니라 할로겐화이온의 혼합시료 용액의 전위차 은법적정에 지시전극으로 이용될 수 있음을 알았다.

  • To extract alkali metal ions and heavy metal ions, search for crown ether model compounds (4a-b, 5a-b, 6a-b) bearing side arm has led to achieve in 5~6 steps starting from 2,6-dimethylaniline. The determination of structure in their compound derivatives were on the basis of melting point and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. In the solvent extraction of metal ions from the synthesized derivatives, we observed that silver ion has only high selectivity for synergistic ligation of crown ether.

Silver Halide의 均一沈澱法에 關한 硏究 (Studies on the Homogeneous Precipitiation of Silver Halide)

  • The silver halide precipitate tends to separate in curdy form of flocculated colloid when it is precipitated by direct mixing of reactant solutions. This type of precipitate has a great tendency to adsorb or occlude foreign ions in the solution.When silver halide in precipitated from homogeneous solution using the slow hydrolysis of Alkyl halide or Ally halide, the precipitate becomes dense, filterable and uniform in particle size which is very advantageous in gravimetric analysis.We found that silver halide precipitates obtained from homogeneous solution with hydrogen halide formed by the hydrolysis of alkyl halide do not give the color change with fluorescein as adsorption indicater, while silver halide precipitates obtained by direct mixing method give sharply pink color which appear to be uniformly distributed through the solution in silver ion excess.
