Ozone Generation and NO Gas Removal Characteristics a Silent-Surface Hybrid Discharge Type Ozonizer (무성-연면 복합방전형 오존발생기의 오존생성 및 NO 가스 제거특성)

  • A hybrid discharge type ozonizer, which is superposed silent and surface discharges, has been designed and manufactured to apply for Nitrogen Oxides(NO) gas removal. The ozonizer consists of three electrodes, and is classified three types of ozonizer by changing applied voltage. Investigation was carried out variance with the flow rate of supplied oxygen gas, discharge power and the sorts of superposed discharge type ozonizer. Moreover, NO(1200[ppm])/$N_2$ gas removal investigation was also conducted to apply for environment improvement field. Two kinds of NO gas removal investigations were conducted. It distinguishes the investigations into NO gas reaction method. According to these studies, maximum removal rate of 100[%] in NO gas was obtained, and 8334[ppm] and 3249[mg/h] of maximum ozone concentration and generation were also obtained respectively.

  • In this research, a ozone generation using a combined discharge method, in which a surface and a silent discharges are occur in discharge region simultaneously, is investigated experimentally. On our experiments, the combined discharge was confirmed, and the characteristics of the ozone generation were obtained. In this paper, the typical results about the ozone generation are described.

  • In this paper, a current-source type parallel indudor compensated load resonant high-frequency soft switching inverter using IGBTs for driving the newly-produced silent discharge type ozone generating tube and excimer lamp for UV generation which incorporate a single switched capacitor resonant snubber between the port in DC busline side is presented, together with its pulse modulated unique output power regulation characteristics.

  • In this paper, a co-axial cylinder type ozonizer using silent discharge applying radio frequency voltage known as an ozone generation was designed and fabricated. A cooling system was installed to investigate the characteristics of ozone generation in accordance with temperature change of the supplied gas known as an important factor. The characteristics of ozone generation were investigated in accordance with the change of cooling temperature.

  • In this paper, an analogical method for measuring the electrical characteristics of the silent discharge in the Na2CO3 electrolyte is proposed by using an electrical equivalent model which consist of charging and discharging circuits. The electrical equivalent model is constructed with the use of zener diode and capacitor, and the electrical characteristics can be obtained by the voltage and charge traces which appear a simple parallelogram on the oscilloscope. The area enclosed by the parallelogram could be considered of the energy input per cycle, and is independent of the applied voltage waveform but dependent on the maximum applied voltage.

  • A multilevel inverter employing a cascade transformer is proposed for a silent-discharge-tube ozone generating system. The proposed inverter consists of four full-bridge inverters and fourteen transformers which have a series-connected secondary. It can accurately control the amplitude of the output voltage; hereby, it improves a linear characteristic of the rate of ozone yielding. The power regulation characteristics and operational principle of the proposed system are explained from a practical point of view. High precision ozone generating performance of the proposed multilevel inverter is verified by computer-aided simulations and experiment results.
