이 글은 자연의 '말없음'을 상찬하는 일군의 작품들을 대상으로 하여 그 구체적인 의미를 밝히는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위해 오해와 거짓을 주요 소재로 삼고 있는 작품군들과 비교하였다. 자연의 말없음을 미덕으로 예찬하는 것은 세속의 언어가 지니는 허위성에 대한 반대 급부이다. 이는 세속과 언어를 동시에 부정함으로써 도달하게 되는 필연적인 귀결인 것이다. 세속은 인간의 이해 관계가 상충하는 삶의 공간으로서, 이런 곳에서 시비와 곡직을 따지는 것은 필연적이다. 이런 점에서 이들 시조에서는 자연이 삶의 원리로서가 아니라 현실의 반대항으로 자리하고 있다고 보는 편이 타당할 것이다 시조 시인들에 의해 자연의 말없음이 상찬된 것은 시비와 곡직의 초월이라는 현실적 욕망에 견인된 결과로 보는 것이 옳을 것이다. 따라서 적어도 시조 시인들에게 자연은 순수한 경물이 아니었다. 유교 사회에서 자연은 인간과 분리되지 않았고, 도덕의 자연화와 자연의 도덕화가 동시적으로 구조화되었기 때문이다.

Lucy Snowe, the heroine and narrator of Charlotte Brontë's Villette, has oftentimes been studied in terms of her silence. However, the critics' approach to Lucy's silence has been mostly negative as her silence has often been interpreted as an illustration of her sense of absence, powerlessness, unreliability, or mental deprivation. Lucy's silence, however, is complex in nature as the functions and meanings of her silence vary depending on when, why, and how silence is performed. This article particularly looks into the moments in which Lucy's silence generates multifarious meanings and resonances depending on the contexts in and the purpose for which it is exercised, such as a sense of wholeness, marginality, power and individuality. First of all, Lucy's silence about herself during the recount of her childhood days at Bretton implies the feeling of entirety and peacefulness where the identification of the "I" becomes unnecessary. Second, Lucy's silence in relation to Paulina at Bretton denotes her social marginality and powerlessness. Third, as an older self/narrator, Lucy chooses to be silent in order to exert power over the readers. And lastly, Lucy's conscious refusal to tell the readers what she already knows also serves to reveal her sense of individuality. Through the instances of Lucy Snowe's silence in Bronte's Villette, I demonstrate the possibility to reveal various aspects of one's self through silence.

Purpose - Many studies show that dissatisfied customers are silent rather than expressing complaints directly to firms. Although silent voices are pervasive in service failure, they have received little attention from researchers. Silence implies a multidimensional nature, not just the opposite of voice. This study focuses on two types of silent students in higher education: acquiescent silence and defensive silence. This study also proposes cognitive trust and affective trust as variables affecting student silence. The objective of this study is to analyse the effects of trust types on student silence and exit intention. Research design, data, and methodology - To test the proposed model, this study conducted a survey with undergraduate students who selected silence in a dissatisfied relationship with a professor. Respondents were asked to respond to the questionnaire, recalling the dissatisfaction at that time. A total of 300 students was surveyed from whom 275 completed questionnaires was obtained. The structural equation model analysis was used for the hypothesis test. Results - First, cognitive trust was negatively related to acquiescent and defensive silence. Second, affective trust was negatively related to acquiescent and defensive silence. Third, cognitive trust was negatively exit intention, but affective trust didn't significantly reduce exit intention. Forth, acquiescent silence was positively related to exit intention, but defensive silence didn't have a significant positive impact on exit intention. Thus, a key result of this analysis was that acquiescent silence enhances exit intention. Conclusions - The findings of the study provide a better understanding of the types of silence, and the role of trust, thus furthering the implication of student reactions to dissatisfaction. In particular, this study is meaningful in that it confirms the value of student silence in the context of complaint management. Acquiescent silence should be more importantly managed because it has stronger negative motive than defensive silence. Acquiescent silence is reduced through various channels(mail, telephone, counseling) that can express complaints. Cognitive trust and affective trust are a essential factors in reducing silence. Also, in explaining exit intention, cognitive trust plays a more important role than affective trust.

본 연구는 조직 내 구성원들이 조직 및 업무 관련하여 의도적으로 침묵을 선택하는 동기를 밝히고, 이를 측정할 수 있는 척도의 개발을 그 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 연속된 3개의 연구를 수행하였다. 먼저 연구 1에서는 직장인 104명을 대상을 조직 내 침묵 경험에 대한 개방형 설문을 실시하였고, 이에 대한 응답내용을 바탕으로 조직 구성원들의 침묵동기에 대한 총 60개의 예비문항을 개발하였다. 연구 2에서는 연구 1에서 개발된 예비문항에 대해 481명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 이에 대한 탐색적 요인분석 및 ESEM 분석을 통해 침묵동기에 대한 5요인(방어적 침묵, 체념적 침묵, 비관여적 침묵, 기회주의적 침묵, 관계적 침묵)을 도출하고 최종 20개 문항을 개발하였다. 또한 개발된 침묵동기 척도와 유사개념(일반적 침묵행동, 발언행동) 간 변별성 검증을 위해 척도 간 ESEM 분석을 실시하였고, 그 결과 본 연구에서 개발된 침묵동기 척도는 일반적 침묵행동 및 발언행동과 변별되는 개념으로 나타났다. 연구 3에서는 침묵동기 척도의 타당화를 위해 직장인 339명에게 설문을 실시하고 확인적 요인분석을 통해 척도의 구성타당도를 검증하였다. 분석결과 침묵동기의 5요인 구조모형의 부합도가 높게 나타나 침묵동기 척도의 구성타당도가 입증되었다, 마지막으로 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 연구의 시사점과 제한점, 그리고 추후 연구방향에 대해서 논의하였다.

본 연구는 전통적 연출 작업에서 벗어나 침묵으로서의 글쓰기를 행하는 프랑스 연출가 끌로드 레지(Claude Régy)의 '침묵의 미학'이 창조해내는 시적 연출을 이탈리아 철학자 조르조 아감벤(Giorgio Agmaben)의 '잠재성'의 개념을 통해 고찰하고자 한다. 끌로드 레지는 연극에서 "근본적으로 중요한 것은 말하고자 하는 바를 말하지 않는 것에 있다"고 설명한다. 그래서 끌로드 레지는 극도의 절제된 미니멀한 수단을 선택하면서 지나치게 느리고 과도하게 분절된 대사가 만들어내는 '침묵'의 무대를 그려내고자 한다. '차라리 ~하지 않는 것을 선호(prefer not to)'하는 바틀비를 통해 자신의 완벽한 잠재성의 주요한 모델로 삼는 아감벤은, 현실태의 '중지' 속에서 비로소 잠재성의 본질이 드러남을 주장한다. 아감벤의 철학에서처럼, 끌로드 레지의 연출 작업은 말과 행동의 '중지'로서 이 침묵은 '행동과 유사성의 모방을 드러내는 현실태로 환원되는 것이 아니라' 비로소 '보이지 않는 것(l'invisible)'이 보이게 되는 순간을 창조해낸다. 이렇듯 끌로드 레지의 연출에서 드러나는 말의 침묵, 어두운 조명과 함께 불분명한 빈 무대의 시각적 침묵은 아감벤에 의해 "비존재를 환대하는" "근본적인 수동성"으로서의 잠재성으로 설명된다. 이런 관점에서 본 연구는 '내용없는 예술가'들에 대한 비판적 관점을 제공하는 아감벤의 '잠재성' 개념과 함께, '느림'과 '침묵'의 미학으로 자신만의 독창적 연출 양식을 창조한 끌로드 레지의 연출 작품, 모리스 메테를링크(Maurice Maeterlinck)의 <내면 L'interieur>과 욘포세(Jon Fosse)의 <누가 올거야 Quelqu'un va venir>를 살펴보면서 동시대, 21세기 연극예술의 또 다른 방향성을 창출해내며 새로운 연출 양식의 지평을 확장시키고자 한다.

In Woman Watches over the World, Linda Hogan explores the broken identity of herself and her family, the issue of the poverty and the identity crisis, the alcoholism, prevalent in the Native American community and their silenced history. Previous studies have claimed that her memoir contributes to the restoration of Native American identity and history by accusing the violence of white culture, and seeks to recognize a dialogue between native culture and white mainstream culture as well. However they seem to overlook the complicated relations among story, identity, body and nature, to which Hogan as a multi-binded storyteller resorts as a way to break the silence of herself and her tribe for healing. Her own story, as a way to break the silence, becomes the formative drive to reveal the silenced history of her own tribe to lead the young generation to the future. She also understands the formative function of the story, which becomes the vehicle for embodying and connecting themselves to nature. To her, healing lies in the restoration of sympathetic relationship with nature. History, as a type of story, can be made up or mistold just like a story. There may be a blind spot where one can not assess what is true. In spite of the vision of the parallel worlds of the two cultures she presents, there seems to be no immediate solution to the discrimination against the Native American, poverty, identity crisis, and environmental problems which the Native American community faces. However, it can be said that her memoir serves as a rudder by presenting a direction to not only the Native American but also to readers in other cultures in its quest for practical possibilities for the future.

본 논문에서는 공간을 이루는 모든 것을 보여주는 '메종 & 오브제' 전시회의 최근 경향을 알아보고 이러한 '그린어메너티'가 적용된 사례를 찾아보았다. 형태적 측면에서 미니멀한 공간을 곡선의 형태로 채웠고 점차 자연을 재현하는 디자인이 제작되었다. 점차 새롭게 맥시멀리즘이 대두되어 디자인에 장식적인 요소가 가미되어 공예적인 제품이 많이 나타났다. 재료적 측면에서는 자연주의 감성이 대세로 자연적인 목재소재가 주로 사용되었다. 이러한 재료는 다양한 이질재료와 결합하여 새로운 디자인을 완성하며 자연적 요소를 공간 안에 형상화하였다. 색채적 측면에서는 2016년은 테마가 '와일드 (Wild)'로 야생자연을 체험할 수 있는 공간을 볼 수 있었다. 나무의 갈색과 초록색을 중심으로 자연의 다채로운 색채를 보여주었다. 2017년의 '사일런스 (Silence)'는 핑크 컬러의 특징이 돋보인다. 또한 따뜻한 느낌의 적갈색 계열의 가구가 제작되었다. 예전엔 황동이나 로즈 골드가 유행이었다면 2017년은 골드나 실버 색상의 제품이 더 대세를 보였다. 2018년은 '쇼룸(Show-Room)'이 테마로 대표 색채는 초록색으로 노랑, 분홍과 함께 새롭게 디자인에 영향 주었다.

This study is intended to examine the various kinds of emptiness that are shown in the empty spaces created by Hyo-Sang Seung and Louis I. Kahn. Architecture creates the usefulness of a certain space thanks to its emptiness. The word, 'Emptiness' has the following meanings, 'non-fulfillment', 'non-existence', 'emptiness', 'blankness', 'non-visibility' and 'non-limitation', etc. Such concepts of emptiness can be broadly divided into 'ideological emptiness', 'aesthetic' and 'architectural spatial'. Comparisons regarding such concepts of emptiness as they are expressed in the architectural spaces created by Hyo-sang Seung and Louis I. Kahn shall be identified in this study. Hyo-sang Seung tried to leave numerous open possibilities which can contain everything into a certain space since 'emptiness' is not being used at this moment. Louis I. Kahn tried to contain into a space the essence and silence of that space before something that exists is created. The 'emptiness' created by Hyo-sang Seung and Louis I. Kahn is a specific space which can contain more kinds of non-visible spaces than some visible ones. Thus, such spaces may contain various potentials which are possible because they are empty, because of changes in nature and time, and because of silence and intentions going beyond an artist's original intent.

There is a shround of mystery surronnding Gaudi. In all probability, the first mist preventing us from gaining acess to his work is the intrinstic mysteriousness of all genius and, at the end of the day, of all human spirit. The situation is complicated by the well-known fact that Gaudi wished to creat an aura of silence around his persona, while, at the same time as maintaining this secretiveneness - in other words, the annihiliation of his fundamental values-gave expression and symbolisation to his moods and incerdible mental power. On a piece of land on the Muntanya Pelada, in the Barcelona district of La Salut, Eusebi G$\ddot{u}$ell Wanted to build an urbanisation inspired by the concepe of the garden city. in this he sought to return to nature, health and an escape from the insalubrous industrial city. Gaudi worked on the construction of this park between 1900 and 1914, and even moved his home there in 1906. An outstanding feature of park G$\ddot{u}$ell is the integration of architecture with nature. In other to save the natural slopes, Gaudi built viaducts from brick pillars, which he covered with stone obtained from the excavation.

Edward Abbey is regarded as one of the most influential ecological or nature writers. He celebrates the American Southwestern desert, argues for wilderness preservation, and advocates politically-oriented environmental activism to defend wilderness. He, however, does not classify himself as a nature writer, but rather places himself in the tradition of a kind of autography. His books show his fascination with the delicate harmony of the desert, and at the same time his personal journey over the desert. That is, eco-centered, he keeps his journey into the heart of the desert. He finds the desert harsh, brutal, fatal, and most of all, indifferent. The desert reveals simplicity and mystery, silence and revelation, and emptiness and fulfillment. This mythical and paradoxical essence of the desert draws him into the place and inspires redemptive humility and beauty, which, in turn, peel off his old ego or self. During his journey, Abbey tries to immerge himself with the desert yet remains intact and individual. The desert serves for him as the bedrock which sustains him and offers an opportunity to gain a new whole perspective. Like a pocket hunter in the desert whom he characterizes himself, he sticks to the desert to dig out ground for his existence and survival. Pulling the energy and force of the desert into his soul, Abbey is free, or compelled to contemplate what is beyond the human. His experience in and of the desert leads to a discovery of self and initiates selfhood.
