Enhancement of Signal Transmission Characteristics Using Structural Changes in Silicone Rubber Socket (실리콘 러버 소켓의 구조 변경을 통한 신호 전달 특성 향상)

  • In this paper, we propose structures of a socket that can improve signal transmission characteristics compared to the existing silicone rubber socket. A coaxial rubber socket was proposed to improve signal distortion due to electromagnetic interference between signal lines. And an air gap rubber socket was proposed to improve the degradation of reflection characteristics due to high dielectric constant. Using a 3D electromagnetic field simulator, the S-parameter and crosstalk of the three sockets were compared and the signal transmission characteristics were analyzed. In both coaxial rubber socket and the air gap rubber socket, S-parameter and crosstalk were improved compared to the silicone rubber socket. Among them, the air gap rubber socket was the best for S-parameter, and the coaxial rubber socket was the best for crosstalk.

  • GPS Receiver는 위성에 위치 정보와 시간 정보등을 제공하고 navigation을 관리하며 이에 관련된 signal을 processing하는 역할을 한다. 2005년에 발사 예정인 KOMPSAT-2 위성에는 Alcatel에서 제작된 Topstar 3000이 사용된다. Topstar 3000은 RF 부분과 digital 처리부분으로 구성된 GPS core부분과 MLD-STD_1553, DC-DC converter, 그리고 Ovened-controlled Oscillator(OCXO)부분으로 구성되는 option module 부분으로 구성되어 있다. 본 논문에서는 GPS Signal Simulator로 KOMPSAT-2의 실제 궤도를 구현해서 Sun-Point Mode와 Earth-Point Mode 등 여러가지 Mode 에서 GPS Receiver의 시간, 위치, 속도 정보의 정확성에 대한 성능이 분석된다.

  • In this paper, the primitive and double combined motion classification of the arm is discussed using pattern recognition of EM signal. The EM signals are detected from Ag-Ag/Cl surface electrodes, and IBM PC, calculated the Likelyhood probability and the decision function on the feature space of integral absolute value. Multiclass decision rule is introduced for higher decision rate. On our experimental results from expert simulator, the decision rate of more than 78% can be obtained.

  • A method for image data compression, Called condtional replenishment, using the interframe correlation of image signal hasbeen studied. In this study, only those picture elements between successive frames are transmitted instead of every picture element in each, frame. A real time test simulator that can demonstrate the functions of conditional replenishment coder with condition of noiseless channel has been realized, and the result shows that the transmitting pixels can be compressed to the 25% of original signal retaining good picture quality.

  • In this study, the dynamic characteristic of a contact wire and pantograph suppling electrical power to high-speed trains are investigated from an electrical response point of view. To analysis power line disturbance by induced contact loss phenomenon for high speed operation, a hardware Simulator which considered contact loss between contact wire and the pantograph as well as contact wire deviation is developed. It is confirmed that a contact wire and pantograph model are necessary for studying the dynamic behavior of the pantograph system. One of the most important needs accompanied by increasing the speed of high-speed train is reduced that an arc phenomenon by loss of contact brings out EMI. In case of a high-speed train using electrical power, as comparison with diesel rolling stock, PLD(Power Line Disturbance) such as harmonic, transient voltage and current, EMI(Electromagnetic Interference), dummy signal injection etc usually occurs. Throughout experiment, it is verified that an arc phenomenon is brought out for simulator operation and consequently conducted noise is flowed in electric circuit by power line disturbance.

  • To analyze and verify the performance of a MWR(Missile Warning Radar) of a GVWS(Ground Vehicle Weapon System), there is a need to make a simulator which can conduct the linked and engaged test virtually using the simulated signals. In this paper, a method of the simulator design for MWR is proposed to solve the above need. The SP(Signal Processor) part which generates the simulated signals and analyzes the algorithms is explained. The RF(Radio Frequency) part which transforms IF(Intermediate Frequency) signals into RF signals, radiates RF signals, and controls the linked equipments is also explained. The utility of the proposed design is proved by presenting the results of the contributions to the development of MWR.

  • This paper deals with the design and testing of a simulator system for microgrids with distributed generations. This system is composed of a Real Time Digital Simulator (RTDS) and a power amplifier. The RTDS parts are operated for real time simulation for the microgrid model and the distributed generation source model. The power amplifiers are operated fur amplification of the RTDS's simulated output signal, which is a node voltage of the microgrid and distributed generation source. In this paper, we represent an RTDS system design, specification and test results of a power amplifier and simulation results of a PV (Photovoltaic) system and wind turbine system. The proposed system is applicable for development and performance testing of a PCS (Power Conversion System) for renewable energy sources.

  • A solar array simulator (SAS) consists of an engine that generates a setpoint according to panel characteristics, a power stage that provides the actual output, and a controller. Particularly, if the control method is not suitable due to the nonlinearity of the solar panel output curve depending on the irradiation amount and the temperature, and the variation of the curve factor depending on the various panel materials, then the panel simulation function cannot be performed properly. Current and voltage mode controls are usually used for the conventional control method. However, these control methods deteriorate the control performance near the maximum power point; thus, a hybrid control method using two or more controllers has been investigated. In this study, we analyze the hybrid control method using three controllers divided into different areas. The design equation of the controller is derived based on the small signal modeling of each controller, and the simulation performance of the solar array simulator verifies its stability and response speed.

  • In the recent years, it is important to evaluate the durability and the reliability of the vehicle, aircraft, and structure. Especially, in case of the vehicle, the durability and reliability are tested by driving test after making prototype vehicles. However, these methods require many costs and efforts for the experiment are needed to react the defects of product. This problems can be settled by simulator which supplies the realistic environments. In this parer, four-axial road simulator with hydraulic power and driving program to operate are made up. The displacement road profile is realized by accelerometers. For the verification the real-vehicle experiment is executed and road profile obtained from the experiment is verified by four-axial road simulator.
