지상클러터에 대한 MTI 신호처리기의 성능 비교 방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Performance Comparison Method of MTI Signal Processors Against Ground Clutter)

  • 一定한 펄스反復周波數로 動作하는 MTI信號處理器에 대하여 MTI필터나 積分器의 傳達函數가 주어졌을 때 地上클러터에 대한 性能 比較 方法을 考察하였다. MTI信號處理器는 橫斷필터(transversal filter)로, 클러터의 電力密度스펙트럼은 Gaussian形態로 모델화하였고, MTI信號處理器에 대한 MTI改善因子(Improvement Factor)를 算出하여 比較하였다. MTI필터 및 Hanning加重函數를 使用한 積分器와 이들의 從屬接續인 경우에 대하여 正規化된 스펙트럼 너비에 대한 MTI改善因子의 變化를 例示하였다.

Specific Cell-Signal Targets for Cancer Chemotherapy

  • Attempts to develop drugs, specific for cancer cells, are dealt here according to the intended cell-target. While many target specific drugs were developed, they reach only moderate successes in clinics for reasons, such as, delivery problem, lack of in vivo efficacy or toxicity. However, recent efforts focusing on the diversity of tyrosine kinases, participating in cell-signal transduction, brought fruit. The first such drug, Givec, approved by the USFDA recently, is used in clinics with great success to threat CML. The drug inhibits tyrosin kinase of bcr-abl, c-abl and v-abl. Work is progressing on other tyrosin kinase inhibitors and on other type of specific cancer cell signal protein inhibitors. These efforts are hoped to yield better cures for cancer in the near future.

  • In multi-dimensional magnetic resonance imaging, data is obtained in the spatial frequency domain. Since the signal variation in the spatial frequency domain is much larger than that in the spatial domain, analog-to-digital converts with wide conversion bits are required. In this paper, the quantization noise in magnetic resonance imaging is analyzed. The signal-to-quantization noise ratio(SQNR) in the reconstructed image is derived from the level of quantization in the data acquisition. Since the quantization noise is proportional to the signal amplitude, it becomes more dominant in high field imaging. Using the derived formula the SQNR for several MRI systems are evaluated, and it is shown that the quantization noise can be a limiting factor in high field imaging, especially in three dimensional imaging in magnetic resonance imaging.

Digital Control of an AC/DC Converter using the Power Balance Control Technique with Average Output Voltage Measurement

  • This paper presents a method for the digital control of a high power factor AC/DC converter employing the power balance control technique to achieve a fast response of the output voltage control. To avoid the effects of an output voltage ripple in the voltage control loop, the average output voltage is sampled and used as a feedback signal for the output voltage controller. The proposed control technique was verified by simulations using MATLAB/Simulink and its implementation was realized by a dsPIC30F4011 digital signal processor to control a CUK topology AC/DC converter with a 48V output voltage and a 250 W output power. The experimental results agree with the simulation results. The proposed control technique achieves a fast transient response with a lower line current distortion than is achieved when using a conventional proportional-integral controller and the power balance control technique with the conventional sampling method.

라만 라이다 시스템을 이용한 라이다 중첩함수 산출 (Retrieval of Lidar Overlap Factor using Raman Lidar System)

  • The range-dependent overlap factor of a lidar system can be determined experimentally if a Raman backscatter signal by molecule is measured in addition to the usually observed elastic backscatter signal, which consists of a molecular component and a particle component. The direct determination of the overlap profile is presented and applied to a lidar measurement according to variation of telescope field-of-view and distance between telescope and transmitting laser. The retrieval of extinction coefficient by Raman method can generate high errors for heights below planetary boundary layer if the overlap effect is ignored. The overlap correction method presented here has been successfully applied to experimental data obtained in Gwangju, Korea.

Subtraction of Smooth Foregrounds in Future 21-cm Observations

  • One of the main challenges for future 21-cm observations is to remove foregrounds which are several orders of magnitude more intense than the HI signal. We propose a new technique for removing foregrounds of the redshifted 21-cm observations. We consider multi-frequency interferometer observations. We assume that the 21-cm signals in different frequency channels are uncorrelated and the foreground signals change slowly as a function of frequency. When we add the visibilities of all channels, the foreground signals increase roughly by a factor of N because they are highly correlated. However, the 21-cm signals increase by a factor of sqrt{N} because the signals in different channels contribute randomly. This enables us to obtain an accurate shape of the foreground angular power spectrum. Then, we obtain the 21-cm power spectrum by subtracting the foreground power spectrum obtained this way. We describe how to obtain the average power spectrum of the 21-cm signal.

The Suppressing of MR Image Artifacts using Phases Cycling in Fast SE Sequence

  • The correction of image artifacts due to misadjustment in tuning of RF coils (tip angle) and in the RF single sideband spectrometer was investigated using phase cycling of the $\pi$/2 and $\pi$ pulses in spin-echo sequences. A general procedure was developed for the systematic design of phase cycles that select desirable coherence transfer pathways. To analyze a phase cycling sequence, changes in the coherence level and phase factor for each RF pulse in the spin-echo cycle must be determined. Four different phase cycling schemes (FIXED, ALTERNATE, FORWARD, REVERSED) to suppress unwanted signal components such as mirror and ghost images were evaluated using two signal acquisitions. When the receiver phase factor is cycled counter-clockwise (REVERSED), these artifacts are completely removed.

자기상관유사행렬을 이용한 과도기적 신호의 분석 (Analysis of Transient Signal Using Autocorrelation-like Matrix)

  • 본 논문에서는 잡음환경하에서의 과도기형태 신호의 매개변수를 효율적으로 추정하기 위한 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 이 방법은 선형예측모델을 토대로 하여 확장된 차수를 갖는 자기상관유사행렬의 truncated singular value decomposition을 이용한다. 제안된 자기상관유사행렬의 우수성을 보여주기 위하여 감쇄계수가 같은 경우와 감쇄계수가 다른 경우에 대하여 각각 일반적인 데이터 행렬방법과 통계적 성능을 비교분석하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과 데이터 행렬 방법보다 자기상관유사행렬 방법의 통계적 성능이 보다 우수함을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과는 부가된 백색잡음의 자기상관지연값이 클 경우에 잡음의 영향이 어느정도 줄어든다는 성질로 부터 기인한다.

  • 본 논문은 2차 평활요소를 사용한 최적 연속계 유한정정 서보시스템의 새로운 설계법을 제시한다. 직렬 적분 보상기와 지역 귀환보상기를 상태귀환 루프에 도입하여 연속유한정정제어기를 만든다. 평활요소의 감쇄비와 고유 각주파 수의 결정법을 서술한다. 입출력 특성이 어떻게 개선되는지를 수치예제를 통하여 보인다. 특히 임의의 시간에 인가되는 외란 및 가변 입력에 대한 CDBC를 설계하는 방법을 제시한다.

일반 선형제약 적응배열 (General linearly constrained adaptive arrays)

  • 잡음신호제거 성능을 향상시키기 위하여 일반선형제약적응배열이 제안되었다. 잡음신호제거 성능이 배열계수 벡터공간에서 검토되었다. 제약면이 이득요소에 의하여 원점에 대하여 수직 방향으로 이동하는데 이득요소가 커지면 원점과의 거리는 감소하게 됨이 밝혀졌다. 따라서 이득요소의 변화가 계수벡터와 잡음신호 방향벡터와의 직교성의 정도에 영향을 주어서 일반선형제약적응배열의 잡음신호제거 성능이 이득요소에 의하여 향상되게 된다. 제안된 적응 배열은 최적의 이득요소 수치에서 간섭적인 신호환경에서는 기존의 선형제약적응배열에 비하여 더 나은 잡음신호제거 성능을 나타내고 비간섭적인 신호환경에서는 비슷한 잡음신호제거 성능을 나타냄이 관찰되었다.
