  • This study is research for effect of the involved lower limb weight bearing training on symmetrical weight supporting rate improvement by practicing involved lower limb weight bearing training of three weeks period to improve standing equilibrium problem with asymmetric weight supporting rate of hemiplegia. In result of the study, it has shown that P-value incase of involved supporting rate is lower than level of significance $\alpha$<.05 and mean improvement rate of experienced group is higher in comparison with controlled group and experienced group. In changing quantity of involved maximum supporting rate, P-value is .26 and higher than level of significance $\alpha$<.05, and so it did not show significant difference statistically. But in case of experienced group between pre and post-test, involved side supporting rate and involved side maximum supporting rate showed significant improvement in all. In comparison of relative characteristic training effect difference, it was shown that train-learning effect on case of 40-60 years old, hemorrhagic patient and standard body bun of patient is valuable, which showed significant improvement in case of paralytic side and disease period, it did not show significant difference on excercise learning effect in two above cases. In the above result, we can say that continuous weight bearing training on the involved lower limb for three weeks period help improve the involved side supporting rate of hemiplegia. Accordingly, the weight bearing training on the involved lower limb is training method that patient can easily train with simple guidance of therapists, without being special expensive equipment. Furthermore it can be helpful to establish home therapeutic plan for hemiplegia through education of a patron.

  • Opioids produce strong analgesic effect result with some side effects such as nausea, vomiting, urinary retention, somnolence, and respiratory depression. Nalbuphine, an agonist-antagonist has, at low doses, an analgesic potency comparable to morphine with little side effects. Analgesic effect after continuous infusion of fentanyl-ketorolac-droperidol, or $Nubain^{(R)}$-ketorolac-dropertiodl combination in Cesarean section patients were assessed by numerical rating scale (NRS) and Prince Hednry scale (PHS). The patients were divided into two groups. Each group consists of 30 patients. Group 1 received 20 ${\mu}g$ of fentanyl the end of surgery. And then continuously infused with additional 380${\mu}g$ of fentanyl plus 120 mg of ketorolac and 2.5 mg of droperidol. Group 2 initially received 2 mg of $Nubain^{(R)}$ at the end of surgery and the remaining dose of $Nubain^{(R)}$ 38 mg plus ketorolac 120 mg and droperidol 2.5 mg was continuously infused. With all patients, initial dose of drug was administered by bolus of i.v. injection and the remaining dose was administered via i.v. using a Baxter Two $Infusor^{(R)}$. Pain scores and side effects were recorded at the time of recovery room arrival, and at interval of 30 min, 1 hr, 6 hr, 14 hr, 24 hr, 48 hr after start of continuous infusion. No significant difference was found between the pain scores and side effects of both groups although pain control effect was excellent in both groups. We concluded that $Nubain^{(R)}$ could be an alternative to fentanyl for postoperative pain control.

  • The ruling kinetics of epoxy resins with 3 different kinds or alkenylsuccinic anhydride (ASA) having C-8, C-12, and C-16 pendant side chain length with two different catalysts was studied by using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Nonisothermal and isoconversional method has been used for characterizing the effect of the pendant side chain length in the curing process. Results or nonisothermal method showed that there was no significant difference in the effect of the pendant side chain length of ASA. But isoconversional analysis showed that the value of the activation energy for the initiation reaction or C-8, C-12, and C-16 were $61.7{\sim}57.7kJ/mol$, $63.0{\sim}57.3 kJ/mol$, and $130.4{\sim}94.2 kJ/mol$, respectively, depending on the catalyst used. The values of activation energy for the initiation is different as reported value of 20 kJ/mol which indicating the difference in the effect of the pendant side chain length of ASA in the initial stage of the reaction.

  • Mountain side ditch is constructed at the top of cutting slopes around road and it drains the surface water that flowed from upper part. Mountain side ditch is constructed to keep away the influx of the surface water into cutting faces. However, if Mountain side ditch is constructed on the top of cutting slopes, it is cause of trouble. For example, difficulty of quality control and lack of drainage faculty. Therefore, the faculty and establishment propriety of mountain side ditch are evaluated seriously, according to the condition of ground, topography and rainfall in this paper. Results from the study for the numerical analysis of effect of mountain side ditch indicate that safety factor is enlarged about 3% at rainfall.

  • Plane-strain fatigue crack growth behavior of 7075-76 aluminium alloy was investigated by using side-grooved through-thickness center cracked tension(CCT) specimens. The effect of side-groove on the stress intensity factor value was examined. The effective thickness expression of $B_{e}$= $B_{o}$-( $B_{o}$-( $B_{ o-B_{n}^{2}}$ $B_{o}$ is the most appropriate to evaluate the stress intensity factor of side-grooved CCT specimen for fatigue testing. Fatigue crack growth rates can be well described by the effective stress intensity factor range based on closure measurements, for both side-grooved and uniform thickness specimens. Provided that the thickness of specimen meets the requirements for valid plane-strain fracture toughness, uniform thickness specimen data may be assumed to approximately represent the plane strain through-thickness crack growth behavior.ehavior.r.

  • The goal of crashworthiness is an optimized vehicle structure that can absorb the crash energy by controlled vehicle deformations while maintaining adequate space so that the residual crash energy can be managed by the restraint systems to minimize crash loads transfer to the vehicle occupants. Front side assembly is one of the most important energy absorbing components in relating to the crashworthiness design of vehicle. The structure and shape of the front side assemblies are different depending on auto-makers and size of vehicles. Thus, it is not easy to grab an insight on designer's intention when you glance at a new front side member without experiences. In this paper, we have performed the explicit nonlinear dynamic finite element analysis on the front side assembly of a passenger car to investigate the effect of thickness distribution of the front side assembly on the collapse shape, which is important in the aspect of controlling deformation to maintain adequate space, from the viewpoint of reverse engineering. To do this, we have performed crash FE analysis for the assembly by varying the thickness distribution of the assembly.

  • The aerodynamic drag of high-speed train has been calculated and the effect of bogie side fairing on the aerodynamic drag has been investigated. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation based on steady-state 3 dimensional Navier-Stokes equation has been conducted employing FLUENT 12 and the aerodynamic model of HEMU-430x, the Korean next generation high-speed train under development has been built using GAMBIT 2.4.6. Three types of bogie side fairing configuration, the proto-type without fairing, half-covered fairing to avoid the interference with the bogie frame and full-covered fairing have been adopted to the train model to compare the drag reduction effects of the bogie side fairing configurations and the numerical results yields that the bogie side fairing can reduce the aerodynamic drag of the 6-car trainset up to 7.8%. The aerodynamic drag coefficient of each vehicle as well as the flow structures around the bogie system have also been examined to analyze the reason and mechanism of the drag reduction by bogie side fairing.

  • Kim et al. described and compared other methods of measuring stress triaxiality using the displacements near the side necking, proved the validities of these models and explored the effect of location where the displacements are measured using three-dimensional finite element analysis for a standard CT specimen with 20% side-grooves. In this paper, the applicability of these models to various specimen and materials are examined in detail. To consider the effects of side groove, thickness of specimen, crack length, specimen geometry and strain hardening exponents, three-dimensional finite element simulation has been performed for various specimen geometries. For a case without a side groove, in the whole the difference between the stress triaxilaity analytically evaluated and directly determined is similar. For a case with a 20% side groove the stress triaxiality is measured at the area where ${\theta}$ is smaller than $60^{\circ}$, which excludes a side grooved area.

  • Purpose: This study examined the effects of trunk side shift exercise on the Cobb's angle. Methods: Fifty-eight subjects (control group=30, scoliosis group=28) were enrolled in this study. The idiopathic scoliosis groups were divided randomly into two groups, a side shift exercise (SSE) group, and a trunk stabilization exercise (TSE) group. The SSE group performed side shift exercise on the developed chair training for eight weeks. The TSE group performed trunk stabilization exercise. A oneway ANOVA test was carried out to compare the results within the idiopathic scoliosis patient group before and after the exercises based on the different exercise methods. Results: The Cobb's angles were compared among control group and SSE group and TSE group. As a result, there was a significant difference from SSE group and TSE group(p=0.000), but there were no significant differences between the SSE and TSE groups (p=0.085). Conclusion: Side shift exercises are effective in improving the Cobb's angle. Therefore, the use of the side shift exercise chair designed in this study can replace general exercise either at work or during studies. Therefore, this method is easily accessible for busy modern students who are exposed to scoliosis or spinal disorders due to a pattern of inactivity.
