Thermal buckling Analysis of functionally graded plates using trigonometric shear deformation theory for temperature-dependent material properties

  • In this paper, thermal buckling analysis was conducted using trigonometric shear deformation theory, which employs only four unknowns instead of five. This present theory is variationally consistent, and accounts for a trigonometric variation of the transverse shear strains across the thickness and satisfies the zero traction boundary conditions on the top and bottom surfaces of the plate without using shear correction factors. The grading is provided along the thickness of the plate as per power law volume fraction variation of metal-matrix ceramic reinforced composite. The non-linear governing equation problem was solved for simply supported boundary conditions. Three types of thermal loads are assumed in this work: uniform, linear and non-linear distribution through-the-thickness. It is well known that material properties change with temperature variations and so the analysis was performed for both the cases: temperature-dependent (TD) and temperature-independent (TID) material properties. The impact on thermal buckling for both linear and non-linear temperature variation was considered. The results were validated for the TID case with other theories and were found to be in good agreement. Furthermore, a comprehensive analysis was performed to study the impact of grading indices and geometrical parameters, such as aspect ratio (a/b) and side-to-thickness ratio (a/h), on the thermal buckling of the FG plate.

GEOTECHNICAL DESIGNS OF THE SHIP IMPACT PROTECTION SYSTEM FOR INCHEON BRIDGE

  • The Incheon Bridge, which was opened to the traffic in October 2009, is an 18.4 km long sea-crossing bridge connecting the Incheon International Airport with the expressway networks around the Seoul metropolitan area by way of Songdo District of Incheon City. This bridge is an integration of several special featured bridges and the major part of the bridge consists of cable-stayed spans. This marine cable-stayed bridge has a main span of 800 m wide to cross the vessel navigation channel in and out of the Incheon Port. In waterways where ship collision is anticipated, bridges shall be designed to resist ship impact forces, and/or, adequately protected by ship impact protection (SIP) systems. For the Incheon Bridge, large diameter circular dolphins as SIP were made at 44 locations of the both side of the main span around the piers of the cable-stayed bridge span. This world's largest dolphin-type SIP system protects the bridge against the collision with 100,000 DWT tanker navigating the channel with speed of 10 knots. Diameter of the dolphin is up to 25 m. Vessel collision risk was assessed by probability based analysis with AASHTO Method-II. The annual frequency of bridge collapse through the risk analysis for 71,370 cases of the impact scenario was less than $0.5{\times}10^{-4}$ and satisfies design requirements. The dolphin is the circular sheet pile structure filled with crushed rock and closed at the top with a robust concrete cap. The structural design was performed with numerical analyses of which constitutional model was verified by the physical model experiment using the geo-centrifugal testing equipment. 3D non-linear finite element models were used to analyze the structural response and energy-dissipating capability of dolphins which were deeply embedded in the seabed. The dolphin structure secures external stability and internal stability for ordinary loads such as wave and current pressure. Considering failure mechanism, stability assessment was performed for the strength limit state and service limit state of the dolphins. The friction angle of the crushed stone as a filling material was reduced to $38^{\circ}$ considering the possibility of contracting behavior as the impact.

열차 충돌하중에 대한 콘크리트 일탈방호시설물(DCP)의 해석적 거동 검토 (Analytical Behavior of Concrete Derailment Containment Provision(DCP) according to Train Impact Loading)

  • 전 세계적으로 철도의 노후화 및 고속화 등으로 인한 열차탈선사고가 증가하고 있으며, 그로인한 인적 물적 피해가 증가하고 있는 실정이다. 특히 철도교량의 경우에는 가드레일 또는 방호벽 등을 설치하고 있으나, 이는 탈선열차차량(train body level)이 방호벽과 충돌함으로써 열차의 탈선운동을 억제하여 정지시키는데 목적이 있다. 이와 같은 차량에 의한 탈선방호는 인명피해 위험성 및 2차 피해발생 가능성이 높다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 주행레일 사이에 일탈방호시설물(DCP, Derailment Containment Provision)을 설치하여, 차륜 또는 차축(wheel/bogie level)에서 탈선열차를 방호할 수 있는 시설물을 개발하였다. 또한, 기존 철도교량의 일탈방호성능을 확보할 수 있도록 DCP의 급속시공이 가능하도록 설계하였으며, 방호벽에 작용하는 충돌하중과 급곡선부에서의 관성력을 감소시킴으로써 일탈된 열차가 교량 밖으로의 전도 낙하방지 및 반대편 선로의 침입하는 것을 최소화 하고자 하였다. 본 논문에서는 LS-Dyna을 이용하여, 설계한 DCP의 열차 충돌위치 및 콘크리트 궤도 접합조건에 따른 거동에 대하여 해석적으로 변수연구를 수행하였다. 특히 접합조건은 접합재료의 물성치에 따라 끊어짐을 모사하는 Tiebreak contact과 완전 부착되었다고 가정하는 Perfect bond contact으로 나눠 해석적으로 검토하였다. DCP의 변위, 앵커 및 콘크리트의 응력, 변형률을 확인한 결과 Tiebreak contact이 실제 충돌하중에 대한 거동을 보다 유사하게 모사하는 것으로 판단하였다. 또한, 충돌위치에 따른 변위는 접합구간에서 가장 큰 변형이 발생하였으며, DCP 블록의 중앙에 충돌이 가해질 경우, 충돌하중이 가해지는 DCP 배면에서 휨 파괴가 발생하였다. 본 연구에서 수행한 충돌해석은 실제 충돌실험의 어려움에 의해 사전적으로 해석을 수행하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 DCP 앵커 설계변경은 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

  • Korean IT industry has been given much weight in national R&D management. A negative side of this fact is that Korean economy is likely to become vulnerable to a condition of the export business in certain items of IT industry which has a serious influence on the national economy. A customized investment strategy through the analysis of technology competitiveness and R&D status in each technology of IT field is required in order to rectify the structural vulnerability and pursue a continuous growth. In this research, a strategic direction to set up an efficient investment strategy is presented. In this process, it draws a portfolio analysis with two axes of technology level and technology life cycle. It also derives a priority order of the national investment considering the degree of technological impact, marketability, and adequacy of public support from AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method by a survey of IT experts. A portfolio analysis in the prior stage helps the respondents in AHP become more familiar with the alternatives' characteristics so that their decision making process more corresponds with national R&D strategies.

태권도 반달차기 시 운동학적 변인 및 근전도 분석 (An Analysis of Kinematics and EMG for Bandal Chagi in Taekwondo)

  • 본 연구는 태권도 겨루기 경기에서 많이 사용되고 있는 받아차기 종류 중에서 반달차기 동작을 운동학적 변인과 근전도적 변인들에 대하여 카메라와 근전도 시스템 기법을 통해 분석하여 규명함으로써 태권도 겨루기 선수들과 지도자들에게 경기력 향상을 위하여 보다 효율적인 반달차기 수행능력을 제시함을 연구목적으로 하며 운동학적 및 근전도를 분석한 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 태권도 겨루기 경기에서 반달차기는 발을 차는 다리의 슬관절 각 변위 변화가 상대를 임팩트 하는 순간 대단히 중요한 요인이 되며, 고관절 각변위는 발을 차는 다리와 상체 젖히기 각변위 변화는 매우 중요한 요인이다. 또한 근전도 변인들 중에서 반달차기 동작 수행 시에 차는 발의 반대쪽에 위치한 왼쪽부분의 척추기립근 근육들이 높은 근활동에 기여되고 있어 경기력 향상을 위한 효율적인 반달차기 수행능력을 위해서는 왼쪽부분에 위치한 척추기립근 근육들의 강화 훈련이 필요하다고 할 수 있으며, 체간운동에 따른 오른발반달차기 동작 시 오른쪽 부분에 위치한 복근이 높은 근활동에 기여함으로서 효과적인 반달차기 수행능력을 발휘 할 수 있을 것이다.

The hidden X suture: a technical note on a novel suture technique for alveolar ridge preservation

  • Purpose: The present study investigated the impact of 2 different suture techniques, the conventional crossed mattress suture (X suture) and the novel hidden X suture, for alveolar ridge preservation (ARP) with an open healing approach. Methods: This study was a prospective randomized controlled clinical trial. Fourteen patients requiring extraction of the maxillary or mandibular posterior teeth were enrolled and allocated into 2 groups. After extraction, demineralized bovine bone matrix mixed with 10% collagen (DBBM-C) was grafted and the socket was covered by porcine collagen membrane in a double-layer fashion. No attempt to obtain primary closure was made. The hidden X suture and conventional X suture techniques were performed in the test and control groups, respectively. Cone-beam computed tomographic (CBCT) images were taken immediately after the graft procedure and before implant surgery 4 months later. Additionally, the change in the mucogingival junction (MGJ) position was measured and was compared after extraction, after suturing, and 4 months after the operation. Results: All sites healed without any complications. Clinical evaluations showed that the MGJ line shifted to the lingual side immediately after the application of the X suture by $1.56{\pm}0.90mm$ in the control group, while the application of the hidden X suture rather pushed the MGJ line slightly to the buccal side by $0.25{\pm}0.66mm$. It was demonstrated that the amount of keratinized tissue (KT) preserved on the buccal side was significantly greater in the hidden X suture group 4 months after the procedure (P<0.05). Radiographic analysis showed that the hidden X suture had a significant effect in preserving horizontal width and minimizing vertical reduction in comparison to X suture (P<0.05). Conclusions: Our study provided clinical and radiographic verification of the efficacy of the hidden X suture in preserving the width of KT and the dimensions of the alveolar ridge after ARP.

신경 손상 후 환측의 동작분석을 통한 충격파가 신경재생에 미치는 영향 (Impact of Shock Wave on Nerve Regeneration in Motion Analysis of Affected Side after Nerve Injury)

  • 본 연구는 체외 충격파 치료를 이용하여 신경 손상 흰쥐의 신경재생에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다. 본 연구에서는 체중이 230~280g고 생후 6주의 Sprague-Dawley계 수컷 흰쥐 30마리를 사용하였다. 무작위 추출방법을 이용하여 좌골신경 손상 후 체외 충격파 치료를 받는 실험군(n=15)과 좌골신경 손상 후 체외 충격파 치료를 받지 않는 대조군(n=15)으로 나누어 실험을 실시하였다. 본 연구에서 체외충격파 치료를 적용하기 위해서 체외 충격파 치료기(OPTIMUS, SALUS TALENT 3, Korea)를 이용하였으며 낮은 출력(low intensity)을 이용하여 오른쪽 후지의 좌골신경 압좌 부위에 적용하였다. 본 연구에서는 다트피쉬 소프트웨어를 이용하여 환측 후지의 입각기 시간과 보폭거리를 측정하였다. 환측 후지의 입각기 시간과 보폭거리의 그룹 간 변화량 비교에서 체외 충격파 치료를 적용한 실험군과 체외 충격파 치료를 적용하지 않은 대조군 사이에는 통계학적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 결론적으로 체외 충격파 치료는 신경재생에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다.

일부 대학생의 자가 판단에 의해 사용하는 일반의약품에 대한 지식, 인식태도 및 사용실태와 관련요인 (Knowledge and Attitudes of Some College Students on General Drugs that They Use by Self-Judgment and Status and Relevant Factors)

  • Objectives: This study aims to identify the usage status of general drugs by some college students based on their own judgment and the relevant factors having impact on them. Methods: The questionnaire survey was conducted by visiting the students in 3 colleges in Daejeon and Chungcheongnam-Do. 792 students were finally selected as the subjects. The results were statistically analyzed using the SPSSWIN(ver 13.0) and $x^2-test$, ANOVA and multiple regression analysis were conducted. Results: The usage status of college students showed the significant difference by general features, knowledge and recognition attitude. The knowledge level of students on the general drugs was very low. They had excessive expectation on the general drugs in terms of the recognition attitude. The lowest factor was the distrust on the general drugs. 27.5% of subjects was satisfied with the effect after using 48.1%m when the drugs were frequently used. Those who experienced the side effects accounted for 9.6%. In accordance with the analysis on the factors related to the knowledge on, recognition attitude on and usage status of general drugs, the education had the highest influence on the abuse and misapplication of drugs. For the mistrust factor on the drugs and negligence factor on abnormal response, the gender was the most influencing. The knowledge level was the greatest impact on the excessive expectation factor on the drugs. The factor that the usage status was the most influential was the education on the abuse and misapplication of drugs. Conclusions: The systematic approach including establishment of health policies for the improvement of health and health education activity should be implemented on the basis of the thorough analysis on the knowledge level and recognition on drugs and the factors influencing on the usage of drugs.

탄소복합재 부품 파티션패널의 구조 강성/강도 신뢰성 평가에 관한 연구 (Study on Structural Reliability Assessment of a Partition Panel Made of a CFRP(Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic))

  • In the case of a partition panel for a vehicle, it is used as a vehicle chassis component that serves to distinguish the indoor and outdoor spaces of a vehicle and is mounted on a backrest portion of the vehicle's back seat to ensure the convenience of passengers by connecting the floor and the side of the vehicle. Because it is a relatively large-sized plate material among automobile chassis parts except the moving parts and non-ferrous materials can be applied, it is considered as a part having a large light-weight effect. However, the partition panel is one of the vehicle parts that must satisfy the light-weight effect as well as various structural reliability, such as torsional rigidity, vibration, and impact characteristics, for securing the running stability of the vehicle when driving at the same time. So, In this study, the possibility of replacing the aluminum partition panel as CFRP(Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic) partition panel is evaluated through comparing the two partition panels by using the structural reliability(stiffness/strength analysis), vibration analysis, impact analysis.

LS-DYNA를 이용한 SUV와 승용차의 측면충돌 특성에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Side Impact Characteristics Occurred from SUV-to-Passenger Car using LS-DYNA)

  • 차량의 측면은 전면이나 후면과 다르게 비대칭으로 설계되어있기 때문에 측면충돌이 일어나는 경우 충돌부위에 따라 차체의 변형정도가 크게 달라진다. 충돌로 인하여 차체에 탄성 및 소성 변형이 일어날 때 운동에너지가 차체로 흡수되어 운동량이 감소하게 된다. 일반적으로 교통사고분석은 충돌 후 차량의 거동을 운동량 보존법칙으로 분석하며 차체의 변형에 따른 에너지 흡수량은 반발계수를 적용해 그 오차를 보정한다. 본 연구에서는 차체의 구조와 각 부품의 재료특성을 적용한 유한요소 차량모델을 LS-DYNA로 해석하였으며, 그 결과를 분석하여 SUV와 승용차의 측면충돌에서 차량의 접촉부위에 따른 반발계수와 충돌감지시간을 도출하였다. 최종적으로 산출된 반발계수와 충돌감지시간을 실제 교통사고 사례에 적용하였을 때 결과오차의 개선효과를 얻었다. 유한요소해석 모델을 이용하여 도출한 초기 입력값을 적용했을 때 기존의 분석기법보다 해석의 신뢰도가 높다는 결과를 얻게 되었다.
