C/SiC 재료의 물성 측정을 위한 준 해석적 방법 (Quasi-Analytical Method of C/SiC Material Properties Characterization)

  • 이 논문은 발사체 노즐에 사용되는 내열성 재료인 C/SiC에 대한 이방성 물성을 예측하는 방법으로, 평면 방향의 실험 데이터를 이용해서 9개의 엔지니어링 물성을 간단하고 효과적으로 계산하는 준 이론적 접근에 대해 설명하였다. 이 방법은 C/SiC 복합재료를 직조 보강재의 굴곡율에 따라 세 층으로 이상화 하여, 고전 적층 평판이론으로 계산한다. 평면 방향으로 실행된 실험 데이터와 직조 구조물의 굴곡율을 초기 데이터로 이용하며, 측정이 어려운 두께 방향의 물성을 효과적으로 얻을 수 있었다. 예제를 통하여 이 방법의 유용성을 증명하였다.

분사주조한 입자강화 알루미늄 복합재료의 미세조직 특성 (Characteristics in Microstructure of Particle Reinforced Al Matrix Composites Fabricated by Spray-Cast Forming Process)

  • Aluminium-silicon alloy(JIS AC8A) matrix composites reinforced with SiC particles were fabricated by spray-cast forming process, and the microstructure of powders and preforms produced were studied by using an optical and scanning electron microscopy. SiC particles were co-sprayed by mixed phase injection method during the spray casting process. Most of the composite powders formed by this mixed phase injection method exhibit morphology of particle-embedded type, and some exhibits the morphology of particle attached type due to additional attachment of the SiC particles on the surface of the powders in flight. The preforms deposited were resulted in dispersed type microstructure. The pre-solidified droplets and the deposited preform of SiC-reinforced aluminium alloy exhibit finer equiaxed grain size than that of unreinforced aluminium alloy. Eutectic silicons of granular type are crystallized at the corner of the aluminum grains in the preforms deposited, and some SiC particles seem to act as nucleation sites for primary/eutectic silicon during solidification. Such primary/eutectic silicons seem to retard grain growth during the continued spray casting process. It is envisaged from the microstructural observations for the deposited preform that the resultant distribution of SiC injected particles in the Al-Si microsturcture is affected by the amount of liquid phase in the top part of the preform and by the solidification rate of the preform deposited.

상압소결 $Al_2O_3-SiC$계 소결체의 기계적 성질 (I) : SiC분말의 분산효과 (Mechanical Properties of the Pressureless Sintered $Al_2O_3-SiC$ Composite(1) : Dispersion Effects of SiC Powder)

  • $Al_2O_3$ 기지에 미치는 2차상의 영향을 알아보기 위하여 SiC 입자를 5~20vol.% 분산시키고 소결조제로서 $TiO_2$ 또는 RY_2O_3$를 2.5wt.%첨가하여 180$0^{\circ}C$, $N_2$분위기 중에서 90분간 상압소결 하였다. SiC함량이 증가함에 따라 소결체의 밀도는 감소하였지만 기계적 물성은 증가하여 $Y_2O_3$를 소결조제로 첨가한 경우, 꺾임강도는 525MPa, 경도는 17.1GPa,파괴인성은 4.1 MPa.$m^{1/2}$ 정도의 최고값을 나타내었고 반면 $TiO_2$를 소결조제로 첨가한 경우 꺾임강도 285MPa , 경도 12.1GPa 정도의 값을 나타냈다. 그리고 이와 같은 기계적 물성의 증진은 주로 SiC의 복합화에 따른 균열의 편향과 $Al_2O_3$ 의 입자성장억제효과에 의한 것으로 밝혀졌다.

구형 나노 실리카를 사용한 다공성 실리콘/탄소 음극소재의 전기화학적 특성 (Electrochemical Characteristics of Porous Silicon/Carbon Composite Anode Using Spherical Nano Silica)

  • 본 연구에서는 리튬이온 전지용 실리콘 음극소재의 사이클 안정성 및 율속 특성 향상을 위해 다공성 실리콘/탄소 복합소재의 전기화학적 특성을 조사하였다. 나노 실리카 제조는 스토버 방법을 사용하고 교반 속도, 교반 온도 및 $NH_3$/TEOS 비율을 조절 하여 100~500 nm 크기의 구형 실리카를 합성하였다. 구형 나노 실리카의 마그네슘 열환원과 산처리 과정을 통해 다공성 실리콘을 얻고, 제조된 다공성 실리콘에 Phenolic resin을 탄소전구체로 사용하여 최종적으로 다공성 실리콘/탄소 활물질을 합성하였다. 또한 $LiPF_6$ (EC:DMC:EMC=1:1:1 vol%) 전해액에서 다공성 실리콘/탄소 음극소재의 충 방전, 순환전압 전류, 임피던스 테스트 등의 전기화학적 특성을 조사 하였다. 다공성 실리콘/탄소 복합소재의 음극활물질로서 코인 전지의 성능을 조사한 결과 초기용량 및 40사이클 용량 보존율은 각각 2,006 mAh/g, 55.4%를 나타내었다.

  • Hydroxyapatites were prepared by the different $SiO_2$ addition at $1450^{\circ}C$ for 2h. With the increase of $SiO_2$ addition, microstructure, bulk density, porosity, mechanical strength of $hydroxyapatite/{\beta}-TCP$ composite were investigated. When the sintered HAp contained 1 wt% $SiO_2$, the each properties of the HAp were increased. But the excess addition of $SiO_2$ content above 1wt% the each property were decreased. This results were due to the ${\beta}-TCP$ phase. The ${\beta}-TCP$ phase appeared at 3 wt% $SiO_2$ addition and the ${\beta}-TCP$ phase was enhanced by the $SiO_2$ increasing.

  • The relationship between the diffusivity and electrochemical characteristics of lithium secondary battery with the modified Si anode material prepared in HF/$AgNO_3$ solution was investigated. The crystallographic structure and images of the modified porous Si and modified Si/Cu was examined using the X-ray diffraction, BET and SEM. To examine the effect of metal composite and pore size distribution according to chemical etching on the electrochemical characterization, the electrodes for half cells were prepared with the modified Si, modified Si/Cu, and modified Si/Cu annealed with $600^{\circ}C$. Our results showed that the chemical diffusivity of lithium ions was related to structure and resistance of Si/Cu composite anode material. The lithium diffusivity in modified silicon compound calculated from the CV was at the range of $1{\times}10^{-12}$ to $9{\times}10^{-16}cm^2/s$. The effects of modified silicon structure and resistance on the cycling efficiency were significant.

$Al/SiC/Al_{2}O_{3}$복합재료의 기계적 성질 및 마멸특성 (Mechanical Properties and Wear Behaviour of $Al/SiC/Al_{2}O_{3}$ Composite Materials)

  • $Al/SiC/Al_{2}O_{3}$ hybrid composites are fabricated by squeeze infiltration method. From the misconstructive of $Al/SiC/Al_{2}O_{3}$ hybrid composites fabricated by squeeze infiltration method, uniform distribution of reinforcements and good bondings are found. Hardness value of $Al/SiC/Al_{2}O_{3}$ hybrid composites increases linearly with the volume fraction of reinforcement because SiC whisker and $Al_{2}$O$_{3}$ fiber have an outstanding hardness. Optimal aging conditions are obtained by examining the hardness of $Al/SiC/Al_{2}O_{3}$ hybrid composites with different aging time. Tensile properties such as Young's modulus and ultimate tensile strength are improved up to 30% and 40% by the addition of reinforcements, respectively. Failure mode of $Al/SiC/Al_{2}O_{3}$ hybrid composites is ductile on microstructural level. Through the abrasive wear test and wear surface analysis, wear behaviour and mechanism of 6061 aluminum and $Al/SiC/Al_{2}O_{3}$ hybrid composites are characterized under various testing conditions. The addition of SiC whisker to $Al/SiC/Al_{2}O_{3}$ composites gives rise to improvement of the wear resistance. The wear resistance of $Al/SiC/Al_{2}O_{3}$ hybrid composites is superior to that of Al/SiC composites. The wear mechanism of aluminum alloy is mainly abrasive wear at low speed range and adhesive and melt wear at high speed range. In contrast, that of $Al/SiC/Al_{2}O_{3}$ hybrid composites is abrasive wear at all speed range, but severe wear when counter material is stainless steel. As the testing temperature increases, wear loss of aluminum alloy decreases because the matrix is getting more ductile, but that of $Al/SiC/Al_{2}O_{3}$ hybrid composites is hardly varied. Oil lubricant is more effective to reduce the wear loss of aluminum alloy and $Al/SiC/Al_{2}O_{3}$ hybrid composites at high speed range.

  • SiO and graphite composite has been prepared by adopting high energy ball milling technique. The anode material shows high initial discharge and charge capacity values of 1138 and 568 mAh/g, respectively. Since the materials formed during initial discharge process the nano silicon/$Li_4SiO_3\;and\;Li_2O$ remains as interdependent, it may be expected that the composite exhibiting higher amount of irreversible capacity$(Li_2O)$ will deliver higher reversible capacity. In this study, pretreatment method of constant current-constant voltage (CC-CV) Provided high coulombic efficiency of SiO/C composite electrode removing the greater part of irreversible capacity.

$SnO_2$의 가스 감응 특성에 미치는 $SiO_2$의 영향 (Effect of Additive $SnO_2$ on Gas Sensing Properties of $SnO_2$)

  • In this paper, we fabricated $SnO_2$ composite ceramics doped with 0~20mol% $SnO_2$ of bulk type to investigate the CO and $H_2$ gas sensitivity in various composition, temperature, and concentration of CO and $H_2$ gas. At the temperature range from $100^{\circ}C\sim425^{\circ}C$, the measured 1000ppm and 250ppm CO gas sensitivities of $SiO_2-SnO_2$composite ceramics were about 1.0~7.6 and 1.0~5.6, respectively. These values were about 1.0~1.5 times larger than pure $SnO_2$. The maximum 1000ppm CO gas sensitivity of $SiO_2-SnO_2$composites were measured around $325^{\circ}C$. At the temperature range from $270^{\circ}C\sim380^{\circ}C$, the 1000ppm and 500ppm $H_2$gas sensitivities of $SiO_2-SnO_2$ composites were about 2.9~21.2 and 2.1~11.3, respectively. Also the maximum 1000, 500 ppm $H_2$ gas sensitivities of samples were measured around.

  • A wear behavior of electroless (Ni-P-X, X: SiC, $Al_2O_3$, Diamond) composite coating layers, formed under various conditions on commerical grade low carbon steel, has been investigated using Taber abrasion tester and scanning electron microscope. Several factors, which are type of particles, co-deposited content, particle size, distribution of particles and heat-treatment, influenced the wear resistance. The wear resistance of the composited coating layers after heat-treatment at $400^{\circ}C$ for 1 hr was increased 70 times with diamond, 15 times with SiC and 8 times with $Al_2O_3$, compared with the electroless nickel plating layer without heat-treatment.
