Pyroshock Prediction of the Satellite Launch Vehicle at the Payload Fairing Separation (인공위성 발사체 노즈페어링 분리 시 구조물의 충격량 예측)

  • This paper is investigates the separation shock of payload fairing. Separation test of subscale PLF using half separation device and half PLA is performed. Resulting shock loads at equipment bay and fairing joint are measured. Pyroshock estimation is performed using AUTOSEA Pyroshock Module. Input data to analysis model is obtained from the separation test results of subscale PLF. And model of AUTOSEA is updated comparing results between tests and analysis.. This enables us to validate the AUTOSEA model. Tuned model of subscale PLF and separation device is used to update full scale model, and the shock analysis result of full scale model is estimated in this paper. This paper also discusses the results regarding the difficulty of structural modeling and its numerical implementation in AutoSEA2 Software.

  • Nowadays optical disc drives have become necessary. As the equipment is popular to use, competition of price and rotating rate have been harder and harder. Shock response analysis for the optical disk drives is rarely studied. In this paper the optical disk drive has 5-DOF system and each motion is presented by using Lagrange Equation. As the motion of the Pick up lens is important to read and write data, it needs to consider the pickup and disk. The lumped parameter model is compared with finite element model in order to make sure of the result. Results of the shock response analysis from various shock inputs are gotten.

  • As optical disk drives become designed for portable and hostile environment, higher storage density and smaller size, optical disk drives have a possibility to miss the track and not to read the data. This paper presents the modeling of an optical disk drive as 3-DOF system. Optical disk drives are tested with a linear drop test device and their results are compared with simulation results in order to verify the shock analysis. Finally, this paper shows shock response of a optical disk drive with changes of parameters

  • In this paper, the relation between the vibration and the sound radiated due to the piezoelectric ESWL (Extra-corporeal Shock Wave Lithotripter) is examined And the relation between the focus and the vibration of the objects is examined. The same experiments with the objects that can be breton are done and the relation between the vibration and the break efficiency of the phantom is experimentally investigated. These results show that the relativity between the power of the peak frequency and the break efficiency can be confirmed.

  • As a disk drive becomes widely used in portable environments, one of the important requirements is durability under severe environmental condition, especially, resistance to mechanical shock. An important challenge in the disk recording is to improve disk drive robustness in shock environments. If the system comes In contact with outer shock disturbance, the system gets critical damage in head-gimbal assembly or disk. This paper describes analysis of a HGA(head-gimbal assembly) in micro MO drives to shock loading during both non-operating state and operating state. A finite element model which consists of the disk, suspension, slider and air bearing was used to find structural response of micro MO drives. In the operational case. the air bearing is approximated with four linear elastic springs. The commercially available finite element solver, ANSYS/LS-DYNA, is used to simulate the shock response of the HGA in micro MO drives. In this paper, the mechanical robustness of the suspension is simuiated considering the shock responses of the HGA.

  • The paper considers acoustic analysis of the shock absorbing muffler within a rotary compressor. The internal space of the compressor is modelled as a combination of cavities and pipes. A simple one-dimensional impedance approach is used fur the acoustic analysis in the low frequency range, with ignoring the effects of gas flow and temperature gradients that are closely related to power efficiency of the compressor. Using the similarity between the vibration isolator and the shock absorbing muffler, the source strength transmissibility is newly proposed as a performance measure of the muffler and its validity is supported by power analysis. Some Important muffler design rules obtained are; (1) a muffler cavity and its opening throat should be used as a pair, (2) a long thin throat is desirable for high frequency noise isolation, (3) a large muffler cavity should be used with care since it shortens the working frequency range of the muffler. The rules were applied to redesign a compressor muffler currently in use, and a significant improvement was achieved by simply attaching a throat to the outlet holes of the muffler.

  • Nowadays, mobile devices are very common equipments such as mobile phone, PDA, etc. These equipments need information storage devices. Optical storage devices have more advantages than other storage devices, but it is not free from shock situation like dropping by user's mistakes. A complete model of a Small Form Factor Optical(SFFO) disk drive subject to shock loads is developed to investigate the response of the pickup/disk interface. With this model, we can simulate the drop test and consider the matters of shock simulation using commercial software(Ansys/LS-Dyna).

  • The low speed machinery faults are usually caused by the bearing failure of the rolling elements. As the life time of the bearing is limited, the condition monitoring of bearing is very important to maintain the continuous operation without failures. A few monitoring techniques using time domain, frequency domain and fuzzy neural network vibration analysis are introduced to detect and diagnose the faults of the low speed machinery. This paper presents a method of fault detection for the rolling element bearing in the low speed machinery using the Wiener filtering and shock pulse counting techniques. Wiener filter is used for noise cancellation and it clearly makes the shock pulse emerge from the time signal with the high level of noise. The shock pulse counting is used to determine the various faults obviously from the shock signal with transient pulses not related with the bearing fault. Machine fault simulator is used for the experimental measurement in order to verify this technique is the powerful tool for the low speed machine compared with the frequency analysis. The test results show that the method proposed is very effective parameter even for the signal with high contaminated noise, speed variation and very low energy. The presented method shows the optimal tool for the condition monitoring purpose to detect the various bearing fault with high accuracy.

  • SIL-based optical disk drive will be promising candidate of next-generation storage devices. However, a near-field optical disk drive requires the robustness to external shock because of extremely small gap between SIL and media. Especially, high-level shock damages permanently to SIL and it makes difficulties in general application. To study the likelihood of failure, the shock analysis must be performed over all others. This research explores the dynamic characteristics of rotating disk through FEM which is compared to analytical solution and experimental modal analysis. We also develop the finite element model of an optical disk drive, which includes rubber mounts, sled base, rotating disk and pickup assembly, and simulate the shock response.

  • General coil spring has linearity. However, disc spring has non-linearity so that using this non-linearity disc spring can be designed to do shock-absorbing in cases we need because shock response also has non-linearity. By changing the shape and stacking number, it is satisfactory with response of displacement, velocity and acceleration. Conventionally, disc spring was used to control the vibration against huge load and limited space. However, it is limitedly used because of difficulty of the designing guidance. Therefore, disc spring is needed to study further in order to apply it widely. Response of disc spring is compared to response of coil spring by changing ho/t radio with computer simulation and the usage of disc spring is increased through analysis of effect of design factors. The purpose of this paper is that the shock response of disc spring is calculated through numerical simulation and effect of ho/t and stiffness is analyzed to broad usage so that design factor of disc spring is presented.
