동해구 현측식 트롤 어선의 복원성 (The stability of the side trawler operating in East Sea of Korea)

  • Trawlers are divided into stern and side types by the method of shooting and hauling net, but the latter is difficult to find beside Korea. In East Sea of Korea, the side type used to be in early 2000's, but it improved to stern type because of its inefficient operating method. The aims of this paper is to make clear the stability of the side trawler in the East Sea, and then confirm whether it satisfy the IMO rule or not, the degree of the transverse inclining angle of the ship when hauling net at hull side. In results, the stability of the ship in initial inclining range satisfied the IMO rule and the domestic rule, but not satisfied those rule in over the range. The limit load of the ship that was coincide with the angle of beam end in hauling net at side was about 26 tons, 18 tons in normal sea condition and storm warning condition respectively. The transverse inclining angles of the ship in hauling net were much higher from 3.3 to 5.5 times than the longitudinal inclining angle of the stern trawler, although those angles were slightly changed with depending on the loading and sea condition.

대서양 한-가나 합작법인 소속 다랑어 선망어선의 조업실태 분석 (Analysis on the fishing conditions of tuna purse seiner belonging to the Korea-Ghana joint venture in the Atlantic Ocean)

  • The research was analyzed the catch data of the five years (2016-2020) for six joint venture company tuna purse seiners in the Atlantic Ocean, with the aim of suggesting improvement measures for responsible and sustainable fishing according to changes of recommendation by International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tuna (ICCAT) on the tropical tunas. In the last five years, the average catch of six tuna purse seiner gradually increased to 7,745 tons, 8,364 tons and 9,053 tons from 2016 to 2018, but decreased to 7,761 tons in 2019 and 6,214 tons in 2020. The reason for the decrease in fishing volume in 2019 and 2020 was the fluctuation of the formation of the cold water zone (22-23℃), and the total ICCAT convention area of FAD closure in January and February due to the expansion of the FAD closure area and poor free school catching during two months period, respectively. The analysis on fishing area showed that the percentage of fishing in the high sea was about 85% although the FAD closure area included the EEZ zone in coastal countries; the rise of the fishing license in coastal countries is also believed to be a factor. In order to overcome such situations and improve catching volume, it will be possible if excellent manpower is secured, school fishing is expanded, and the production of high value-added catch (purse seine special: PS).

선박용 에너지 관리 시스템 알고리즘 검증을 위한 신호 연동 시뮬레이터 개발 (Development of signal linkage simulator for verification of Ships energy management system algorithm)

  • 전 세계적으로 선박의 배출물에 의한 환경 오염에 관심이 증가하여, 에너지 효율을 높여 선박 배출물 감소와 연료 소비 효율을 높이는 시스템 개발에 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 각 시스템은 소형 선박에서는 실증될 수 있으나, 대형 선박의 경우에는 실증에 대한 여건이 마땅치 않다. 현실적으로 대형 선박에 real time으로 구동되는 에너지 관리 시스템 제어기를 테스트하기 위해서는 시뮬레이터를 통한 테스트를 수행해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 각 제어 시스템과 에너지 관리 시스템을 연동할 수 있도록 각 신호를 Modbus TCP/IP에 맞게 주소를 설정하였으며, 신호의 흐름에 따라 알고리즘을 구성하였다. 또한, 각 제어기가 선박에서 수집하는 신호를 인위적으로 발생시킬 수 있도록 신호 발생기를 설계 및 제작하였다. 시뮬레이터 제작 및 연동 결과 real time으로 운용되는 각 제어기는 역할을 알맞게 수행하였으며, 선박용 에너지 관리 시스템의 알고리즘의 적용이 적절히 수행됨을 확인하였다.

실적선 데이터베이스 구축을 위한 함정 제품모델의 데이터 품질검증에 관한 연구 (A Study of Product Information Quality Verification in Database Construction of Naval Ship Product Models)

  • In automotive industries, reusability of product information is increasing through database construction of previous product data. The product data is stored by data quality management in product information systems. For naval ships, have the functional similarity by the ships of the same classification and class, that are built by series. Information of hull structures as well as embarked equipments are similar. So it would be effective to use database systems that are considered product information quality of previous ships in design and production processes. In this paper we discuss product information quality in database construction of naval ship product models. For this, we propose a basic concept and reference model for data quality verification. Based on this concept, A verification guideline is defined and it is applied for the case study of the digital naval ship which was built to the naval ship product model.

  • Nowadays, the modeling of information systems have been enabled by various models and methodologies that are used for different purposes and perspectives upon the systems. The integrated modeling methodology that integrates these models and methodologies has become important concerns in system integration such as CIM and PDM. The primary objective of this paper is to propose a comprehensive integrated modeling methodology that integrates the OOIDEFO function model, OOIDEFO information model, node model, user interface model, and organization model for an effective analysis, design and implementation for system integration. This methodology covers the generic requirements of modeling methodology such as graphical notations, modeling processes, and abstraction mechanisms. Also, this methodology uses an 00 paradigm throughout the entire systems development life cycle. In order to prove the consistency and efficiency of the proposed methodology, the CIMS for ship production is modeled and prototyped.

연근해어선 안전관리체제 도입에 관한 기초 연구 (A basic study on the introduction of safety management system for the costal/offshore fishing vessels in Korea)

  • This study analyzed the condition of marine accident and disaster rate of crew of Korean fishing vessels by vessel type, and checked the Australian safety management system and relevant regulation in Korea to suggest measures to build coastal/offshore fishing vessel safety management system in Korean coastal/offshore fishery. As a result, the power and production amount of Korean coastal/offshore fishing vessel is consistently decreasing while marine accident is increasing. Disaster rate of crew was higher than land industry, especially, the disaster rate of coastal/offshore fishing vessel was very high (100.0‰). Australia applies safety management system differed by vessel type and operation waters which fully considers the characteristics of pertinent vessel. The average accident rate of fishing vessels with gross tonnage over 20 tons among the Korean coastal/offshore fishing vessel was 13.6%, which was significantly higher than fishing vessels with gross tonnage below 20 tons (1.4%). Such result indicates it is urgent to implement safety management system to fishing vessel with gross tonnage over 20 tons and introduce fishing vessel safety supervisor. Establishing safety management system of coastal/offshore fishing vessel will contribute to consistent industrial development by achieving the general goal of reducing marine accident and spreading safety culture.

양식어업 어장관리선에 승선하는 어선원의 안전사고 위험요인 분석 (Analysis of risk factors for safety accidents for fisher onboard aquaculture fisheries management vessel)

  • This study aimed to quantitatively analyze the risk using data from 329 safety accidents that occurred in aquaculture fisheries management vessels over the recent five years (2018-2022). For quantitative risk analysis, the Bayesian network proposed by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) was used to analyze the risk level according to the fishing process and cause of safety accidents. Among the work processes, the fishing process was analyzed to have the highest risk, being 12.5 times that of the navigation, 2.7 times that of the maintenance, and 8.8 times that of the loading and unloading. Among the causes of accidents, the hull and working environment showed the highest risk, being 1.7 times that of fishing gear and equipment, 4.7 times that of machinery and equipment, and 9.4 times that of external environment. By quantitatively analyzing the safety accident risks for 64 combinations of these four work processes and four accident causes, this study provided fundamental data to reduce safety accidents occurring in aquaculture fisheries management vessels.

Implementation of welding material quantity evaluation system combined with ship design CAD system

  • These days, the great part of design processes in the field of ship or offshore manufacturing are planned and implemented using the CAD system customized for shipbuilding companies. It means that all information for design and production could be extracted and reused at the other useful fields which need cost considerable time and efforts. The typical example is the field of welding material quantity evaluation which is demanded during the construction of ship or offshore structures. The proper evaluation of welding material to be used and the usage of them at the stage of schedule planning are mostly important to achieve the seamless process of production and costing in advance. This study is related to the calculation of welding length and needed welding material quantity at the stage of design completion utilizing the customized CAD system. The calculated welding material quantity would be classified according to welding posture, assembly stage, block, bevel and welding type so as to improve the accuracy of total cost evaluation. Moreover it is possible to predict the working time for welding operation and could be used efficiently for the cost management using the results of this research.

프로세스 마이닝 기법을 이용한 해양플랜트 배관재 제작 공정 관리 방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on Process Management Method of Offshore Plant Piping Material using Process Mining Technique)

  • This study describes a method for analyzing log data generated in a process using process mining techniques. A system for collecting and analyzing a large amount of log data generated in the process of manufacturing an offshore plant piping material was constructed. The analyzed data was visualized through various methods. Through the analysis of the process model, it was evaluated whether the process performance was correctly input. Through the pattern analysis of the log data, it is possible to check beforehand whether the problem process occurred. In addition, we analyzed the process performance data of partner companies and identified the load of their processes. These data can be used as reference data for pipe production allocation. Real-time decision-making is required to cope with the various variances that arise in offshore plant production. To do this, we have built a system that can analyze the log data of real - time system and make decisions.

AIS에 의한 선박거동의 실시간 모니터링 (Real-time monitoring of ship's dynamic behavior characteristics by AIS)

  • This paper describes on the real-time tracking of ship's dynamic behavior by AIS information in the coastal waters. The AIS data was received at a land station by using the antenna of AIS receiver mounted on the rooftop of the laboratory, Pukyong National University (PKNU), Busan, Korea, and stored as a NMEA format of serial output sentence of VDM(VHF Data-Link Message) and displayed on the ENC(Electronic Navigational Chart) of a PC-based ECDIS. In this study, the AIS receiver was mainly used to obtain the dynamic information that is necessary to evaluate and track the movement situation of training ship "KAYA" of PKNU in the coastal waters. The change of position with time for the ship turning under the rudder angle of port $30^{\circ}$ was correctly tracked with the turning circle of 940 m in diameter on the ENC of a PC-based ECDIS. Then, the dynamic information of the AIS system was updated every 6.29 seconds under the turning situation for the speed of 10.9 knots and every 21.65 seconds under the situation running at the speed of 11.05 knots on the straight line route of $155^{\circ}$, respectively. In case of AIS target tracking in the inshore zone behind large topographical obstructions, such as mountain and apartment buildings, the update rate of dynamic information was irregularly changed by the existence of land obstacles. However, the position tracking by AIS information under the situation existing no sea obstructions was achieved in real or near real-time and the instant presentation of course alternations for the ship was correctly monitored by using a PC-based ECDIS. From these results, we concluded that the PC-based ECDIS technology and methodology combined with the AIS information can be easily extended and applied to the surveillance and management for the fishing operation of fishing vessels in the coastal zone and in the EEZ fishing grounds.
