선형개조 선망선의 조종성능 (Maneuvering character of hull form renovated tuna purse seiner)

  • In an attempt to improve the maneuvering character of hull form renovated tuna purse seiner. A renovation was carried out on the 3 tuna purse seiner fishing vessel. To grasp the progress of maneuvering and resistance on ship B (730 ton class), new bulbous bow was only attached. The ship A (740 ton class) and C (600 ton class) were modified for new bulbous bow, enlarged slipway and rudder. And then the zigzag and the turning test were carried out. According to the turning test, the advance and the tactical diameter were improved very much for the modified ship. The sea trial was carried out for the original and modified ship A. It is showed that the results of sea trial corresponded with that of the tank test on the whole. In the result of the zigzag test on ship B, the turning ability was improved very much, but the yaw checking ability was deteriorated in just some degree. In the result of the zigzag test on ship C, the turning ability and yaw checking ability were remarkably improved. Ship C was greatly improved among the three ships for the maneuvering character of modified hull form.

2D numerical modeling of icebreaker advancing in ice-covered water

  • This paper presents 2D numerical modeling to calculate ship-ice interactions that occur when an icebreaker advances into ice-covered water. The numerical model calculates repeated icebreaking of an ice plate and removal of small ice floes. The icebreaking of the ice plate is calculated using a ship-ice contact detection technique and fluid-structural interaction of ice plate bending behavior. The ship-ice interactions in small ice floes are calculated using a physically based modeling with 3DOF rigid body equations. The ice plate is broken in crushing, bending, and splitting mode. The ice floes drift by wind or current and by the force induced by the ship-ice interaction. The time history of ice force and ice floe distribution when an icebreaker advances into the ice-covered water are obtained numerically. Numerical results demonstrate that the time history of ice force and distribution of ice floes (ice channel width) depend on the ice floe size, ship motion and ice drifting by wind or current. It is shown that the numerical model of ship maneuvering in realistic ice conditions is necessary to obtain precise information about the ship in ice-covered water. The proposed numerical model can be useful to provide data of a ship operating in ice-covered water.

선박폐유처리 NCS 개발에 대한 연구 (A Study on NCS Development for the Treatment of Waste Oils from Ship)

  • NCS development for the treatment of waste oils from ship was carried out through steps such as analysis on characteristics, development of competency standard, utilizing package, and validation of industry sites. The results were as follows. Firstly, duty competency was classified as levels from 2 to 6. Educational training institutions were followed by 75 graduate schools, 73 universities, 54 colleges, and 37 high schools. Secondly, developed standards were consisted of duty and competency unit. The name of duty was the treatment of waste oils from ship and competency units were consisted of 8 items as classification of waste oils from ship, pickup and transport of waste oils from ship, warehousing of waste oils from ship to marine disposal company, transport of waste oils from ship to land, warehousing of waste oils from to disposal company, determination of disposal method and plant recycling treatment, and incineration treatment. 28 competency unit elements below 8 competency units were developed. Thirdly, utilizing package was developed into 3 areas of life-long career path, training criteria, and guidelines for exam according to national competency standards in order to develop development of labor's career and perform personal management such as hiring and promotion in industry sites.

  • 본 연구에서는 국내 해운회사의 안전관리를 위한 여러 가지 투입요소와 산출요소들에 대한 자료를 설문조사하고 각 해운 회사간의 안전관리체제 이행에 따른 효율성을 DEA 분석법을 사용하여 분석하였다. 1998년$\sim$2004년까지 각 해운회사의 안전관리체체의 운영효율성을 DEA 모형으로 분석한 결과 효율성 평균지수가 매년 감소하는 추세를 나타내었다. 효율성 평균지수가 매년 낮아지는 경향을 보이는 이유는 해양사고 건수, PSC 지적 건수, 선박보험료, P&I 보험료는 매 년 감소하는 것에 비해 선박수리비, 선용품비와 선박 불가동일수는 매년 감소하지 않고 오히려 증가하는 경향을 보이고 있는 것이 그 주요한 원인으로 분석되었다.

  • Korean Naval Ship acquisition processes are very complicate. There are 4 phases, Feasibility Study, Concept Design, Basic Design, Detail Design and Construction. A number of organizations and support groups exist to acquire naval war ships. Thus, It is very important how to establish traceability about requirements. This work has investigated how to improve traceability about requirements using Shipboard Work Breakdown Structure.

  • The paper begin by examining shipbuilding in the context of competitiveness, specification and cost-effectiveness before considering the impact of safety requirements in the its operations. The basis of the safety case approach is then given, and its application to shipbuilding is illustrated by an example based on the use of staging in ship construction. The key conclusion is that the safety case approach provides the management with a technique for treating potential hazards in shipbuilding so that their risks can be kept within an acceptable level.

  • 본 연구는 RFID기술을 활용한 선박안전관리에 대한 것이다. 최근 선박안전법 개정으로 2008년부터 2톤 미만의 선박검사와 수상레저기구의 검사 등 선박의 종류 및 형태가 다양해지고 있어 선박의 등록 및 관리에 많은 어려움이 예상된다. RFID기술은 다양한 산업기술 분야에서 빠르게 활용되고 있으며, 이를 선박안전관리법에 적용하고자 하였다. RFID기술을 선박에 적용할 경우 선박의 도난 및 미수검 선박 방지에도 큰 효과를 얻을 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
