항만국 통제 지원 선박검사 정보시스템 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Information System for the Ship Survey to Support Port State Control)

  • Port State Control (PSC) is the inspection of foreign ships in national ports for the purpose of verifying th\ulcorner the condition of the ships and its equipments comply with the requirement of international conventions and the ship is manned and operated in compliance with applicable international laws. On the other hand, check items in PSC are nearly similar to periodical survey of Classification Societies, because they have the same background regarding safety and maritime pollution prevention. The purpose of this study is to develope computer-aided information systems for ship inspection item which is useful for effective implementation of Port State Control. For this work, the status of PSC is reviewed, and the related scheme of ship survey system in Classification Societies is investigated. On these bases, a computer software integrated database system and object-oriented technique is developed. The developed system is expected helpful to establish and maintain an effective system of Port State Control.

Control system design for vessel towing system by activating rudders of the towed vessel

  • In this study, the motion control problem of the vessel towed by a towing ship (tugboat) is considered. The non-powered towed ship is dragged by the towing ship. Even though the towed ship is equipped with propulsion systems, they cannot be used at low or constant speeds due to safety issues. In narrow canals, rivers, and busy harbor areas especially, where extreme tension is required during towing operation, the course stability of the towed vessel depends on the towing ship. Therefore, the authors propose a new control strategy in which the rudder system of the towed vessel is activated to provide its maneuverability. Based on the leader-follower system configuration, a nonlinear mathematical model is derived and a back-stepping control is designed. By simulation and experiment results with a comparison study, the usefulness and effectiveness of the proposed strategy are validated.

선박 위 착륙을 위한 임피던스 제어기반 쿼드콥터 족형 랜딩플랫폼 제어 전략 (Control Strategies for Landing Quadcopters on Ships with Legged Platform Based on Impedance Control)

  • In this paper, we propose a legged landing platform for the quadcopter taking off and landing in the ship environment. In the ship environment with waves and winds, the aircraft has risks being overturned by contact impact and excessive inclination during landing on the ship. This landing platform has four landing legs under the quadcopter for balancing and shock relief. In order to make the quadcopter balanced on ships, the position of each end effector was controlled by PID control. And shocks have mainly happened when quadcopter contacts the ship's surface as well as legs move fast. Hence, impedance control was used to cope with the shocks. The performance of the landing platform was demonstrated by a simulation and a prototype in three sea states based on a specific size of a ship. During landing and tracking the slope of the ship's surface, oscillations of rotation and translation from the shock were mitigated by the controller. As a result, it was verified that transient response and stability got better by adding impedance control in simulation models and prototype experiments.

  • Ship motion is a complex controlled process with several hydrodynamic parameters that vary in wide ranges with respect to ship load condition, speed and surrounding conditions (such as wind, current, tide, etc.). Therefore, to effectively control ships in a designed track is always an important task for ship masters. This paper presents an effective adaptive autopilot ships that ensure the optimal accuracy, economy and stability characteristics. The PID control methodology is modified and parameters of a PID controller is designed to satisfy conditions for an optimal objective function that comprised by heading error, resistance and drift during changing course, and loss of surge velocity or fuel consumption. Designing of the controller for course changing process is based on the Model Reference Adaptive System (MRAS) control theory, while as designing of the automatic course keeping process is based on the Self Tuning Regulator (STR) control theory. Simulation (using MATLAB software) in various disturbance conditions shows that in comparison with conventional PID autopilots, the designed autopilot has several notable advantages: higher course turning speed, lower swing of ship bow even in strong waves and winds, high accuracy of course keeping, shorter time of rudder actions smaller times of changing rudder direction.

선박의 자동조타제어 (Auto steering control of ship)

  • Auto Steering System is the device for course keeping or course altering to ship's steering system. The purpose of automatic steering system is to keep the ship's course stable with the minimum course and rudder angle. Recently, modern control theories are being used widely in analyzing and designing the ship system. Though P.D type auto pilots are widely used in ships, the stability and the adjusting methods are not clarified. In this paper the authors proposed auto steering system with Hybrid Controller. The things that the actual operators of a steering wheel has acquired through their experience can be logically described by the Lingustic Control Rule. The characteristic of the control system were investigated through the computer simulation results. it was found that the Hybrid control was more efficient than the PD control system.

A study on rotational motion control for ship steering motion control

  • In general, a series of ship steering motions is composed of a combination of translational motions and rotational motions of the ship. In particular, a series of rotational motions frequently occurs in narrow areas such as ports and canal zones. In this paper, a method was suggested for composing an integrated control algorithm based on the jog dial as a command instrument for rotational motion control. In order to realize the rotational motions, several algorithms were suggested for generating rotational commands, for selecting motion variables, for choosing reference input values for the motion variables, for computing required accelerations and thrusts, and for allocating thrusts to actuators. A simulation program was compiled to execute simulations for three rotational motions. Finally, the effectiveness of the suggested method was verified by analyzing the simulation results.

  • A need fer stable and comfortable cabins in the high-speed passenger ships has increased. For active control of the motion of the ship cabin, a few control algorithms have been applied to the three dimensional real models in the vibration basin. Experimental results show that the feedforward neural network with a linear feedback controller is one of the promising control algorithms for this active control.

선박충돌사고 위험성 제어방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Risk Control Measures of Ship′s Collision)

  • Ship is being operated under a highly dynamic environments and many factors are related with ship's collision and those factors are interacting. So, the analysis on ship's collision causes are very important to prepare countermeasures which will ensure the safe navigation. This study analysed the ship's collision data over the past 10 years(1991-2000), which is compiled by Korea Marine Accidents Inquiry Agency. The analysis confirmed that ‘ship's collision' is occurred most frequently and the cause is closely related with human factor. The main purpose of this study is to propose risk control measures of ship's collision. For this, the structure of human factor is analysed by the questionnaire methodology. Marine experts were surveyed based on major elements that were extracted from the human factor affecting to ship's collision. FSM has been widely adopted in modeling a dynamic system which is composed of human factors. Then, the structure analysis on the causes of ship's collision are performed using FSM. This structure model could be used in understanding and verifying the procedure of real ship's collision. Furthermore it could be used as the model to prevent ship's collision and reduce marine accidents.

  • 세계경기가 저성장, 저소비, 높은 실업률, 고위험, 짧은 호황 긴 불황 등을 기록하고 있다. 이에 따라 해운경기가 하락하여 선박 유지비용의 절감이 불가피해지고 있다. 이를 위해 그린 선박, 에코 선박, 스마트 선박과 같은 선박의 에너지를 절감하기 위한 연구가 활발히 진행 중에 있다. 친환경 선박에서 배터리를 사용하는 전력관리시스템은 중요한 연구분야 중 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 발전기만을 사용하는 일반적인 선박의 전력관리시스템의 중부하 제어를 분석하고 배터리 연계형 전력관리시스템에서 중부하를 제어하는 알고리즘을 연구하였다. 이를 위해 배터리 연계형 전력관리시스템의 구성을 제안하고 제안된 시스템을 기반으로 배터리 연계형 전력 시뮬레이터를 구성하였다. 구성된 시뮬레이터를 통해 배터리 연계형 전력관리시스템에서 중부하 제어에 따른 배터리의 동작을 정의하고 이를 확인하였다.

선박자동항로 추적을 위한 회두각 명령의 생성과 적응 퍼지제어 (Yaw Angle Command Generation and Adaptive Fuzzy Control for Automatic Route Tracking of Ships)

  • In this paper, an automatic route tracking algorithm using the position variables and the yaw angle of a ship is suggested, Since most autopilot systems paly only a role of course-keeping by integrating the gyrocompass output, they cannot cope with position errors between the desired route and real route of the ship resulted from a drifting and disturbances such as wave, wind and currents during navigation. In order for autopilot systems to track the desired route, a method which can reduce such position errors is required and some algorithms have been proposed[1,2]While such were turned out effective methods, they have a shortage that the rudder control actions for reducing the position errors are occurred very frequently. In order to improve this problem it is necessary to convert that error into the corresponding yaw angle and necessary to treat only yaw angle control problem. To do this a command generation algorithm which converts the rudder angle command reducing the current position error into they yaw angle command is suggested. To control the ship under disturbances and nonlinearities of the ship dynamics, the adaptive fuzzy controller is developed. Finally, through computer simulations for two ship models, the effectiveness of the suggested method and the possibility of the automatic route tracking are assured.
