A Study on the Nurse Scheduling Optimization Model for Nurse Needs-Type Scheduling Automation System

  • 오늘날 정보 기술의 발전으로 병원은 의료분야에서 모바일 컴퓨팅 기술을 접목하여 의료 정보의 방대한 데이터를 관리를 위해서 시간과 공간의 제약을 받지 않는 병원정보시스템을 활발하게 연구하고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 대부분의 병원에서는 여전히 수작업으로 근무 편성표를 작성하는데 많은 노력과 시간을 소요하고 있다. 이에 본 논문은 간호사의 교대 근무를 편성하는 최적화 모델을 연구하고 이를 적용한 간호사 니즈형 근무 편성 자동화 시스템을 구축하였다. 실제 S병원에 근무하는 간호사를 대상으로 간호사의 정보 데이터와 요구조건 및 제약조건들을 구성하였다. 이를 적용하여 최적화된 스케줄링 처리 방법을 제안하였고 웹 서버를 중심으로 실시간 상호 교환 및 공유가 가능하기 위해서 수간호사가 사용하는 웹 기반 플랫폼과 일반 간호사가 사용하는 모바일 앱 플랫폼을 구축하였다. 따라서 개발된 간호사 니즈형 근무 편성 자동화 시스템을 통해서 수간호사는 매월 간호사의 근무 편성을 위한 업무 편리성을 증가시켜 주며, 간호사는 개인 일정관리를 통해서 좀 더 정확하게 업무를 처리할 수 있도록 도움을 줄 것이다. 또한 간호사간의 근무 일정의 공유하여 업무의 효율성이 증가할 것으로 기대한다.

  • A paradigm shift in teaching modular construction in higher education and K-12 is proposed as a means to increase the future adoption of the modular construction technique. To this effect, a new education module is presented to STEM educators. This education module is based on LEGOs and directed towards educators in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. The main objectives of the education module are to increase interest and knowledge of modular construction, acknowledge the benefits of using 3D design with 4D scheduling, and create a simulating hands-on educational opportunity. The education module is designed to allow participants to experience a hands-on simulation of modular construction and stick-built construction through building a LEGO project. Participants are challenged to find the advantages and disadvantages in both construction systems first-hand and record their findings. Results are presented from the preliminary testing of this education model on a group of construction management students at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Overall, the survey results showed that the LEGO education module was successful at achieving the project's three main objectives: 1) increasing the participants' interest and knowledge of modular construction through an interactive project; 2) increasing the participants' understanding of the benefits of 3D design with 4D scheduling over the use of 2D drawings; and 3) creating a simulating hands-on educational opportunity to help participants compare modular construction to stick-built construction. In the end, this proposed a new LEGO education module addressing the problems identified from this study with more participants.

항공사 Call Center 근무형태 결정을 위한 정수계획법 활용 (A study on the staffing of an Airline Call Center using Integer Programming)

  • 항공사의 콜센터(Call Center)는 대표적인 수신전문 콜센터로 다른 어떤 요소보다 인적요소의 비중이 매우 큰 조직으로 최적화된 인력투입의 여부가 콜센터 운영의 성패를 가르는 가장 큰 변수라고 할 수 있다. 사례 항공사의 콜센터에서는 매시점별 투입인력의 양을 결정하고, 이를 충족시키기 위한 인력의 배치를 위해 여러 가지의 근무 형태(shift)를 설정하고 운영하고 있다. 그러나 이러한 일련의 과정이 업무 담당자의 경험을 바탕으로 하고 있어 최적의 인력투입 모델의 설계가 불가능하고 경우에 따라서는 비효율적인 인력투입의 사례가 발생될 가능성이 있다. 본 연구에서는 단위시간당 투입필요 인원수에 따라 근무조(shift)를 편성하기 위해 정수계획모델(integer programming model)을 설계하고 최적해를 구함으로써 효율적인 인력운영을 위한 과학적인 근무조(shift)편성 방법을 제시하였다.

  • There are some demand response program which is Direct Load Control and so on in Korea. These are used to manage lack of power stability or shift peak time for shading load. It is very important not only using stability power system but controling and scheduling power system on the whole. Interruptible loads are essential resources to solve lack of energy and limit of constructing generator On recently days, Demand Response Program's reliability is recognized as ancillary or reserve service in many country. This paper presents a necessity to apply demand resource to our ancillary program. For this reason, it is introduce overseas ancillary program using load resource.

  • Mobile Virtual Desktop Infrastructures (mVDI) are gaining popularity in cloud computing by allowing mobile devices to execute their mobile applications in a cloud server instead of relying on physical mobile devices. Consolidating many users into mVDI environment can significantly lower IT management expenses and enables new features such as "available-anywhere" desktops. However, there are many barriers to broad adoption including the slow performance of virtualized I/O, CPU scheduling interference problems. In this paper, we will discuss about mVDI with the current issues, the corresponding solutions and challenges.

  • Dispatching rule for parallel machines with multi product is proposed in this paper, In current market,customer's request for higher quality is increasing, In accordance with such demand, manufacturers are focusingon improving the quality of the products. Such shift in production objective is risky. The possibility ofneglecting another important factor in customer satisfaction increases, namely due dates. From the aspect ofimproving quality, frequency of product assignment to limited number of high performance machines willincrease. This will lead to increased waiting time which can incur delays, In the case of due date orientedproduct dispatch, Products are assigned to machines without consideration for quality. Overall deterioration ofproduct quality is inevitable, In addition, Poor products will undergo rework process which can increase delays.The objective of this research is dispatching products to minimize due date delays while improving overallquality. Quality index is introduced to provide means of standardizing product quality. The index is used toassure predetermined quality level while minimizing product delays when dispatching products. Qualitystandardization method and dispatching algorithm is presented. And performance evaluation is performed withcomparison to various dispatching methods.

리프팅 기반 이산 웨이블렛 변환의 디지트 시리얼 VLSI 구조 (Digit-serial VLSI Architecture for Lifting-based Discrete Wavelet Transform)

  • 본 논문에서는 리프팅 기반 일차원 (9,7) 이산 웨이블렛 변환(Discrete Wavelet Transform, DWT) 필터에 대한 효율적인 디지트 시리얼 VLSI 구조를 제안하였다. 제안한 구조는 연산을 디지트 단위로 처리하여 하드웨어 자원 소모량을 줄이고 승산기를 단순한 쉬프트와 덧셈 연산으로 대체하여 하드웨어를 최소화하였다. 적절한 데이터 비트할당을 위하여 PSNR을 분석하였고 이에 따라 입 출력 및 내부 데이터에 대한 비트를 정하였다. recursive folding 방식의 스케줄링을 적용할 때에 피드백에 의한 데이터 레이턴시로 인한 성능저하가 되지 않도록 설계하였다. 제안된 구조는 디지트 시리얼 구조를 통해 적은 하드웨어 자원을 사용하면서 100% 하드웨어 효율을 유지할 수 있도록 설계함으로써 하드웨어 비용과 성능을 동시에 고려하였다. 제안된 구조는 VerilogHDL로 모델링 하여 검증하였고 Synopsys사의 Design Compiler로 동부하이텍 0.18um 표준 셀 라이브러리를 사용하여 합성하였으며 2 input NAND 게이트 기준 3,770개의 게이트 수와 최대 동작주파수 330MHz의 결과를 얻었다.

시뮬레이션 방식을 이용한 리드 타임 개선 사례 연구 (A Case Study on Lead Time Improvement Using a Simulation Approach)

  • During the shift from gasoline vehicles to electric ones, auto parts manufacturing companies have realized the importance of improvement in the manufacturing process that does not require any layout changes nor extra investments, while maintaining their current production rate. Due to these reasons, for the auto part manufacturing company, I-company, this study has developed the simulation model of the PUSH system to conduct a process analysis in terms of production rate, WIP level, and logistics work's utilization rate. In addition, this study compares the PUSH system with other three manufacturing systems -KANBAN, DBR, and CONWIP- to compare the performance of these production systems, while satisfying the company's target production rate. With respect to lead-time, the simulation results show that the improvement of 77.90% for the KANBAN system, 40.39% for the CONWIP system, and 69.81% for the DBR system compared to the PUSH system. In addition, with respect to WIP level, the experimental results demonstrate that the improvement of 77.91% for the KANBAN system, 40.41% for the CONWIP system, and 69.82% for the DBR system compared to the PUSH system. Since the KANBAN system has the largest impacts on the reduction of the lead-time and WIP level compared to other production systems, this study recommends the KANBAN system as the proper manufacturing system of the target company. This study also shows that the proper size of moving units is four and the priority allocation of bottleneck process methods improves the target company's WIP and lead-time. Based on the results of this study, the adoption of the KANBAN system will significantly improve the production process of the target company in terms of lead-time and WIP level.

함정 가동률 최대화를 위한 선석할당문제 (A Berth Allocation Problem to Maximize the Available Rate of Naval Vessels)

  • 본 논문은 군항에서의 선석할당문제(BAP)를 다루고 있다. 일반적으로 민간선박이 컨테이너 부두에서 컨테이너 적 하역 작업을 주로 하는 반면에 해군함정은 긴급수리, 무장적재, 유류수급 등 다양한 서비스를 필요로 한다. 또한 해군함정은 제한된 부두의 능력과 설비 때문에 민항에선 거의 일어나지 않는 잦은 선석이동을 해야 한다. 본 연구의 목적은 전시상황 하에서 여러 해군함정이 필요한 서비스를 받기 위해 부두에 입항 시 입항하는 모든 함정이 최단시간 내 요구 서비스를 모두 마치고 다시 전비태세를 유지토록 서비스 완료시간을 최소화하는 것이다. 즉, 부두에 계류중인 함정 수의 최소화를 통하여 해상에서 교전 가능한 함정의 수를 최대화하는 것이다. 제시된 문제를 해결하기 위해 혼합정수계획법(MIP)으로 수리모형을 작성하였고 ILOG CPLEX 11.0을 이용해서 최적해를 산출하였다. 연구결과는 수리모형에 의한 선석할당이 불필요한 선석이동을 최소화하고 전시 교전에 참가할 수 있는 함정 수를 더 증가시킬 수 있다는 결과를 나타낸다.

환자분류에 의한 일개 2차 의료기관의 간호업무량 조사;전산화를 위한 기초작업으로서 (Measurement of the Nursing Workload by Patient Classification System in a Secondary Hospital;As a Preliminary Step for Computerization of Nursing Staffing and Scheduling)

  • Even though Korean medical law stipulates that number of patients attended by a nurse is 2.5 for hospitalization and 30 for ambulatory care, the number of patients cared by a nurse per day is much greater than the standard prescribed by the medical law. Current productivity of nurses is not desirable unless the quality of care is considered. And nursing manpower staffing based on neither current nurses' productivity nor standard of medical law cannot respond properly to dynamic situation of the medical services. Under this background, the necessity of more efficient management of nursing manpower occupying 1/3 of total hospital workers has been recognized by many nursing administrators. Many nursing researchers have studied to foretell the nursing manpower objectively on the basis of measured nursing workload according to patient classification as well. Most of These researches, however, have been conducted in the tertiary hospitals, so it is imperative to conduct other researches to predict necessary nursing manpower in the secondary and the primary hospitals. The study was performed to measure nursing workload and predict pertinent nursing manpower to a secondary hospital with 400beds. Nursing workload was surveyed using measuring tool for direct and indirect care hours in a surgical unit and a medical unit. Survey was conducted from Sep.10 to Sep.16 and from Oct.5 to Oct.11, 1994 respectively by two skilled nurses, Subjects were patients, patients' family members and nursing personnels. Results are follows : 1. Patient classification distributed as 22% of class I (mildly ill patient), 57% of class II (moderately ill patient), and 21% of class III (acutely ill patient) in the medical nursing unit, while 23% of class I, 29% of class II, 12% of class III, and 36% of classIV (critically ill patient) in the surgical nursing unit. There was no difference of inpatient number between weekday and weekend. Bed circulation rate was 89% in both units and average patients number per day was 37.4 (total 42beds) in the medical nursing unit, 32.9 (total 37beds) in the medical nursing unit. 2. Direct care hours per day measured as 2.8hrs for class I, 3.3hrs for class II, and 3.5hrs for class III in the medical nursing unit, while 3.1hrs for class I, 3hrs for class II, 2.7hrs for class III, and 2.2hrs for classIV in the surgical nursing unit. Meanwhile, hours for nursing assistant activities per patient by patients' family members were 11mins and 200mins respectively. Direct care hour rate by shift was day 36%, evening 25%, and night 39% in the medical nursing unit, while 40%, 29%, and and 31% respectively in the surgical nursing unit. 3. Measurement and observation activity held 44.2% of direct care activities of nurses and medication 36.7%, communication 11.7%, exercise 1.8%, treatment 1.3%, hygiene 1.3%, elimination and irrigation 1.1%, suction 1%, nutrition 0.5%, thermotherapy 0.3%, oxygen therapy 0.1% in order. 4. Indirect care hours per day were 294.2mins in the medical nursing unit, and 273.9mins in the surgical nursing unit. By shift, evening was the highest in both units. Indirect care hours for each patient were 44.5mins in the medical nursing unit and 46mins in the surgical nursing unit. 5. checking activities including doctor's order, medication, and delivering patients to the next shift occupied 39.7% of indirect care activities, and preparation 26%, recording 23.8%, communication and conference 6.7%, managing equipments 2.1%, messenger activity 1.7% in order. 6. On the ground of these results, nursing manpower needed in a secondary hospital was estimated ; 27 nursing personnels for the medical nursing unit of 37beds, and 20 nursing personnels for the surgical nursing unit of 33beds.
