  • Research data must be testable. Science is all about verification and testing. To make data testable, tools used to produce, collect, and examine data during the research must be available. Quite often, however, these data become inaccessible once the work is over and the results being published. Hence, information and the related context must be provided on how research data are preserved and how they can be reproduced. Open Science is the international movement for making scientific research data properly accessible for research community. One of its major goals is building data repositories to foster wide dissemination of open data. The objectives of this research are to examine the features of research data, common repository platforms, and community requests for the purpose of designing functional requirements for research data repositories. To analyze the features of the research data, we use data curation profiles available from the Data Curation Center of the Purdue University, USA. For common repository platforms we examine Fedora Commons, iRODS, DataONE, Dataverse, Open Science Data Cloud (OSDC), and Figshare. We also analyze the requests from research community. To design a technical solution that would meet public needs for data accessibility and sharing, we take the requirements of RDA Repository Interest Group and the requests for the DataNest Community Platform developed by the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI). As a result, we particularize 75 requirement items grouped into 13 categories (metadata; identifiers; authentication and permission management; data access, policy support; publication; submission/ingest/management, data configuration, location; integration, preservation and sustainability, user interface; data and product quality). We hope that functional requirements set down in this study will be of help to organizations that consider deploying or designing data repositories.

  • Large-scale and complex disasters have frequently occurred all over the world recently, and they are repeated every year. Accordingly, the need for the systematic management and utilization of raw-data and processing information in the past has increased. For this purpose, this study proposed a construction strategy for disaster and safety record information resources archives based on automatic acquisition, which can be used as a hub for disaster and safety information. Based on local and foreign case studies, several consideration factors for building the archives are determined. Finally, this study proposed four steps for constructing the archives. These are as follows: 1) complete enumeration survey of the disaster and safety record information resources, 2) automatic acquisition possibility study, 3) selection of the resources for preservation, and 4) automatic acquisition of metadata. The construction of the archives proposed in this study will facilitate integrated management, sharing, and use of scattered information resources on disaster and safety.

  • Our country does not currently have a concrete policy for the management and preservation of the scientific dataset on the national level. The scientists and the research groups that are implementing a research project are not capable of searching or sharing the information about the dataset. In this situation where there is a major increase in the number of researches that use digitalized dataset, being able to share and reuse the scientific data amongst researchers is recognized to be very important. Therefore our country needs a new formulated policy that manages scientific data on the national level. This paper helps to find the implications of the strategic planning in our country by analyzing previous advanced case studies done by foreign countries. We selected Australia as our subject because its intensive government-driven research environment, research infrastructure and information service are very similar to Korea. To be specific, we analyzed ANDS (Australian National Data Service) and drew out the implications that could be applied to our country also. And finally we propose the basic principles that needs to be mirrored when formulating a policy on our country's scientific data.

  • With the quantitative growth of research data, the issue of enormous preservation cost and sharing expansion, the organizations should prioritize the collections then select the data that are worthy of save. Therefore, today, it is important for the organizations to appraise the continuing value of produced records. Considering the universities and the public institutions such as governmentfunded research institutes as the heavy producer of the data, it becomes a rising problem for the records management that it does not go beyond the framework of "administrative records" and "public records". In this study, I looked into the background of the contention that the research records must be managed in a different perspective and checked the characteristics of research records in therms of the producers, research activities and records. Based on this analysis, I suggested the main issues and considerations about the subjects, criterias and methods in research records appraisal.

  • The purpose of this study is to determine social values of self-support enterprises, known as the origin of social economy by using a qualitative research method. Main themes representing social values of self-support enterprises were developed through four sessions of FGI and thematic analysis. First, self-support enterprises embody the value of 'social safety net' by providing workfare for disadvantaged people as well as by operating market-oriented business. Additionally, 'communal spirit', for which self-support enterprises strive, is social value that enables the entirety of self-support enterprises and participants to fulfill non-profit values, reciprocity, and sharing. Lastly, ontological, diachronic, and ecological 'sustainability' of self-support enterprises is a foundational element which creates continuous positive impact on our society. Findings of this study are significant to provide theoretical and empirical evidence for preservation and development of the social economy ecosystem. Based on this, further researches on comprehensive social economy are suggested.

  • If a brief direction and plan for a remodeling project are decided, it may moves to a concrete design step of which to select the most suitable alternative out of applicable compounding devices to reveal dynamic drifting performance. However, the volume of knowledge baseed utility which can refer to systematic evaluation regarding remodeling element technology and the accumulation of realistic cases are not only sufficient, but also short including its system for expression and consistency. Therefore, it may necessary to deliver the main frame which make enables the Owner, designer and builder to get performance technology for applying advanced remodeling element and knowledge based utility. There is a necessity to provide an information with latest made by virtue of modeling in the 3D/4D based on construction-based knowledge etc. which we can use for life cycle of a project, as a prominent way of knowledge based utility. Then, it is sure that remodeling can become more activative by sharing of knowledge based utility formed in electronic 3D/4D which is a systematic and expressed consistently to a performance and applicability in preservation of savings. It is expected for modeling of the 3D/4D in knowledge based utility enables to verify the practicability of each technology on effective application, and the use of technology might be spread widely due its obvious and oriented expressions. Further, this knowledge based utility formed in electronic 3D/4D may applicable for VE process in addition to remodeling design fields.

  • Deep Learning is a useful method for classifying and recognizing complex data such as images and text, and the accuracy of the deep learning method is the basis for making artificial intelligence-based services on the Internet useful. However, the vast amount of user da vita used for training in deep learning has led to privacy violation problems, and it is worried that companies that have collected personal and sensitive data of users, such as photographs and voices, own the data indefinitely. Users cannot delete their data and cannot limit the purpose of use. For example, data owners such as medical institutions that want to apply deep learning technology to patients' medical records cannot share patient data because of privacy and confidentiality issues, making it difficult to benefit from deep learning technology. In this paper, we have designed a privacy preservation technique-applied deep learning technique that allows multiple workers to use a neural network model jointly, without sharing input datasets, in multi-party system. We proposed a method that can selectively share small subsets using an optimization algorithm based on modified stochastic gradient descent, confirming that it could facilitate training with increased learning accuracy while protecting private information.

  • The spread of Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) genetic testing, where users request tests directly, has been increasing. With growing demand, certification systems have been implemented to grant testing qualifications to non-medical institutions, and the scope of tests has been expanded. However, unlike cases in less regulated foreign countries, disease-related tests are still excluded from the domestic regulations. The existing de-identification method does not adequately ensure the uniqueness and familial sharing of genomic information, limiting its practical utility. Therefore, this study proposes the application of fully homomorphic encryption in the analysis process to guarantee the usefulness of genomic information while minimizing the risk of leakage. Additionally, to safeguard the individual's right to self-determination, a privacy preservation model based on Opt-out is suggested. This aims to balance genomic information protection with maintainability of usability, ensuring the availability of information in line with the user's preferences.
