횡류수차 노즐형상이 성능과 내부유동에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Nozzle Shape on the Performance and Internal Flow of a Cross-Flow Hydro Turbine)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of nozzle shape on the performance and internal flow of a cross-flow hydro turbine. CFD analysis for three kinds of nozzle shape is conducted to simulate the effect of nozzle shape. The results reveal that relatively narrow nozzle width is effective to increase the turbine efficiency and output power. Almost output power is achieved at Stage 1. Therefore, optimum design of the nozzle shape is necessary to improve the turbine performance. Recirculation flow in the runner passage decreases the turbine efficiency and output power because the flow make hydraulic loss and collision loss in the region. Air should be put into the runner passage and the recirculating flow should be suppressed by the air layer in the runner.

  • 고체 추진기관은 고정된 추진제 그레인 형상과 노즐목 때문에 정해진 단순 추력을 가지게 된다. 핀틀 노즐은 기존의 고체 추진기관의 장점을 가지면서도 추력 조절이 불가능한 단점을 보완하기 위해 제안된 방법이다. 본 연구에서는 핀틀 형상이 노즐 성능에 미치는 영향을 실험과 수치해석 방법으로 평가하였다. 핀틀 형상은 단순성의 원리에 근거하여 변경하였으며 각각의 형상에 대한 내부 유동장은 난류모델을 적용하여 Fluent로 해석하였다. 본 연구로부터 핀틀 형상이 노즐내의 충격파 구조 및 유동박리 영향을 주어 노즐 추력 및 핀틀 하중에 영향을 미침과 최적의 노즐 성능을 발휘할 수 있는 핀틀 형상이 존재함을 확인하였다.

SAC 형상이 분사특성 및 분무형상에 미치는 영향 (Influence of SAC Shape on Injection Characteristics and Spray)

  • To clarify the influence of SAC shape of hole-type diesel nozzle on injection characteristics and spray patterns, the injection rate of three nozzle types(standard SAC nozzle, Needle-cut VCO nozzle and VCO nozzle) were measured by Zeuch's method and pictures of the sprays were taken by CCD camera. As the pump speed became higher, the injection characteristics of the three nozzles were different. Injection rate and perssure curves at the high pressure pipe in Needle-cut VCO nozzle were much more similar to the VCO nozzle than those of the SAC nozzle. When the needle was at pre-lift period for all speeds, the spray of the Needle-cut VCO nozzle showed almost the same shape as the SAC type nozzle. There was no differense in spray pattern at the needle full-lift periods.

  • As a preliminary design study to achieve target aerodynamic performance, this work was conducted on an original nozzle with 9 flutes in order to design a fluted nozzle with 12 flutes. The thrust and rolling moment of the nozzle with 12 flutes were analyzed using a CFD code according to the depth and rotation angle of the flutes. Based on this, a fluted nozzle with 12 flutes was optimized to yield the same thrust as that of the original nozzle with 9 flutes. The response surface method was applied for shape optimization of the fluted nozzle and design variables were selected to determine the depth angle and rotation angle of the flutes. An optimized shape that led to a thrust as strong as that of the original nozzle was obtained.

  • This study makes to flow analysis of computational fluid dynamics(CFD) according to the basic theory of turbulent flow regarding high-pressure injection nozzle. It also makes structural analysis to find out the structural validity of the optimum shape of high-pressure injection nozzle. It divides to two areas such as plunger areas and high-pressure injection nozzle area including plunger.

  • 본 논문에서는 3차원 초음속 노즐 형상 변수에 따른 부분입사형 터빈의 유동 및 성능 특성을 알아보기 위하여 3차원 노즐 형상 변수를 노즐 모양 및 노즐 출구 단면 형상으로 설정하여 전산해석을 실시하였다. 먼저 노즐 모양에 따른 유동 및 성능 특성을 비교해 본 결과, 사각형 노즐이 원형 노즐보다 축방향 간극내에서 발생하는 전압력 손실이 적었으며, 이로 인하여 파워가 약 1.5% 증가하였다. 다음으로 사각형 노즐출구단면의 면적에 따른 유동 및 성능 특성을 비교해 본 결과, 노즐 출구 단면과 로터의 hub/tip 사이의 간극과 노즐간의 간격이 터빈 성능에 크게 영향을 줌을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of nozzle shapes on the performance and internal flow characteristics of a cross-flow type hydro turbine for wave power generation. The performance of the turbine is calculated with the variation of rotational speed for 4 types of the nozzle shape using a commercial CFD code. The results show that nozzle shape should be designed considering available head of the turbine. Best efficiencies of the turbine by 4 types of the nozzle shape do not change largely but overall performances varies mainly by the nozzle width. The output power of the cross-flow type hydro turbine changes considerably by the nozzle shape and a partial region of stage 2 in the runner blade passage produces maximum regional output power in comparison with the other runner blade passage areas.

  • Bead shape control with gas force process has been developed to overcome the concave back bead in pipe orbital welding. However, It is impossible to make a convex back bead using the existing gas nozzle, because it has high gas-consuming and low gas force. The purpose of this paper, to develop optimum shape of nozzle which to reduce the consumption of gas, maximizing the shield gas force with low cost and high productivity coincide the Green welding. In this paper venturi-type nozzle was designed by using the Venturi meter and compared velocity, pressure, arc shape in the flat position with existing CP-nozzle. As a result, Venturi-type nozzle's maximum velocity and pressure was improved at the same flow rate. Also heat input was increased by the arc contraction in the flat position.

노즐 형상에 따른 전기수력학 프린팅의 실험적 연구 (The Experimental Study of EHD Printing for Different Nozzle Shapes)

  • The shape of nozzle cross-section plays an important role in stabilizing electrospray jet. The angle of contact line is governed based on the famous Young-Laplace equation. Compared to a round nozzle that has a constant curvature along the orifice, the square nozzle has four square corner edges and four straight edges that hold the meniscus in a different manner and is of interest in this study. By utilizing both square and round capillary nozzle, we examine the effect of nozzle shape in electrohydrodynamic jetting. The ejections were recorded with a high speed camera and analyzed to examine the jetting repeatability based on dynamic movement of meniscus. The result suggests that if the corner edges are not sharp, then its effect on repeatability is also limited.

핀틀 형상이 노즐 유동에 미치는 영향에 대한 실험적 연구 (A study on the pintle-tip shapes effect of nozzle flow using cold-flow test)

  • 노즐 목 근처에 설치된 핀틀 형상이 노즐 내부 유동과 추력에 미치는 영향을 공압 실험으로 고찰하여 제시하였다. 핀틀 이동으로 노즐 목 면적이 감소하면 연소실 압력은 부드럽게 상승하나 추력은 핀틀 형상에 따라 증가 패턴이 다르게 나타났다. 동일한 노즐 목과 연소실 압력 조건에서 추력은 전체적으로 핀틀 형상이 오목한 것 보다는 볼록한 것이 컸다. 노즐 벽면 압력과 핀틀에 작용하는 하중은 핀틀 형상은 물론 핀틀 위치 및 노즐 목면적에 따라 큰 차이를 보였다.
