입술의 형태 모델과 Down Hill 탐색 방법을 이용한 입술 인식 (Lip Recognition using Lip Shape Model and Down Hill Search Method)

  • 본 논문은 입술형태를 인식하기 위한 방법을 제안하였다. 입술은 GLDM(Gray Level Distribution Model)을 기반으로 표현하였으며 입술인식은 모델에 대한 입력영상의 정확도에 대한 목적함수를 최적화하는 문제로 단순화하였다. 최적화를 위해 다운힐 심플렉스(Down Hill Simplex) 알고리즘을 이용하였으며 지역 최소점으로 수렴하는 문제를 해결하기 위한 새로운 방법을 제안하였다 제안한 방법으로 기존의 능동적 형태 모델(ASM Active Shape Model)에서 찾지 못하던 입술의 윤곽을 찾아낼 수 있음을 보였다.

Shape morphing and adjustment of pantographic morphing aerofoil section structure

  • This study concerns with morphing structures, e.g. as applied in the aerospace industry. A morphing aerofoil structure capable of variable geometry was developed, which was shown to be able to cater for the different aerodynamic requirements at different stages of flight. In this work, the useful and relatively simple method has been applied, which provides a direct method for calculating required morphing shape displacements via finding the most effective bar through calculating bar sensitivity to displacement and calculating set of length actuations for bar assembly to control/adjust shape imperfection of prestressable structural assemblies including complex elements ("macro-elements", e.g., the pantographic element), involving Matrix Condensation. The technique has been verified by experiments on the physical model of an aerofoil shaped morphing pantographic structure. Overall, experimental results agree well with theoretical prediction. Furthermore, the technique of multi-iteration adjustment was presented that effective in eliminating errors that occur in the practical adjustment process itself. It has been demonstrated by the experiments on the physical model of pantographic morphing structure. Finally, the study discusses identification of the most effective bars with the objective of minimal number of actuators or minimum actuation.

유연성 반복과정과 비선형유한요소법에 의한 케이블 구조물의 형태탐색 (A Shape Finding of the Cable Structures by Flexibility Iteration Procedure and Nonlinear FEM)

  • 케이블 구조물은 응력-변형도관계에서 비선형성이 강하고 대변위에 의해 기하학적 비선형이 도입되므로 해석이 복잡하다. 그러므로 케이블 구조물의 평형형태 탐색과 해석에 앞서 기하학적 비선형을 고려해야만 한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 케이블, 네트, 전선, 현수케이블 지붕등에 적용될 수 있는 수치해석과정이 소개된다. 이 과정은 두 부분으로 나눌 수 있는데, 하나는 유연성반복과정에의해 등분포하중을 받는 케이블 구조물의 응력과 평형형태를 구하는 것이고, 다른 한 부분은 비선형 유한요소법에 의해 절점외력을 받는 평형형태를 해석하는 것이다.

Noise reduction for mesh smoothing of 3D mesh data

  • In this paper, we propose a mesh smoothing method for mesh models with noise. The proposed method enables not only the removal of noise from the vertexes but the preservation and smoothing of shape recognized as edges and comers. The magnitude ratio of 2D area and 3D volume in mesh data is adopted for the smoothing of noise. Comparing with previous smoothing methods, this method does not need many iteration of the smoothing process and could preserve the shape of original model. Experimental results demonstrate improved performance of the proposed approach in 3D mesh smoothing.

엔진 커넥팅로드의 좌굴평가에 대한 연구 (Study of Buckling Evaluation for the connecting rod of the engine)

  • This study investigates the buckling evaluation of connecting rods used in the diesel engine through finite element analysis. The Rankine formula, which is modified from classical Euler‘s formula, has been widely accepted in automotive industry to evaluate the buckling of connecting rods. Apparently, this formula is most suitable for the straight and idealized rod shape, and over-simplifies the geometric complexity associated with connecting rods. The subspace iteration method in FEA is used to predict the critical buckling stress of a connecting rod with certain slenderness ratio. To create models with various slenderness ratios for shank portion in the rod, the automatic meshing preprocessor was implemented. Results from FEA were verified by the experiments, in which the embedded strain gages measured for the connecting rod running at 4000rpm. The result indicates that the buckling prediction curve through FEA and experiment is effectively different from the curve of classical Rankine formula.

복합신소재구조물의 고유진동수에 대한 하중크기의 영향 (The Influence of the Loading Sizes on Natural Frequency of the Advanced Composite Material Structures)

  • 본 논문에서는 고유진동수를 구하기 Simple Iteration Method을 제시하였다. 이 방법은 임의의 단면과 지점을 갖고 임의의 하중을 받는 보나 탑의 진동모드와 관련된 고유진동수를 간편하면서도 정확하게 계산할 수 있는 획기적인 방법이다. 이 방법에는 공진상태에서 관성력에 기인한 부재의 처짐 모드를 구하게 된다. 진동해석을 위하여 처짐의 영향을 고려한 다양한 방법이 검토되었다. 이러한 목적으로 본 논문에서는 유한차분법을 사용하였다. 고유진동수에 대한 $D_{22}$ 휨강성의 영향을 철저하게 검토하였다. 본 논문에서는 구조 요소의 하중 분포 또는 상이한 단면에 따른 고유진동수에 대한 영향을 연구하였으며 그 결과를 제시하였다. 이 방법은 첨단복합재료를 포함한 2차원 문제에도 적용할 수 있다.

2중 Wiebe 연소모델을 이용한 2행정 대형 선박용 디젤엔진의 성능예측 (The prediction of Performance in Two-Stroke Large Marine Diesel Engine Using Double-Wiebc Combustion Model)

  • In this study well-known burned rate expressions of Weibe function and double Wiebe function have been adopted for the combustion analysis of large two stroke marine diesel engine. A cycle simulation program was also developed to predict the performance and pressure waves in pipes using validated burned rate function,. Levenberg-Marquardt iteration method was applied to cali-brate the shape coefficients included in double Wiebe function for the performance prediction of two-stroke marine diesel engine. As a result the performance prediction using double Wiebe func-tion is well correlated withexperimental dta with the accuracy of 5% and pressure waves in intake and transport pipe are well predicted. From the results of this study it can be confirmed that the shape coefficients of burned rate function should be modified using the numerical method suggested for the accurated prediction and double Wiebe function is more suitable than Wiebe func-tion for combustion analysis of large two stroke marine engine.

비선형 이론을 이용한 케이블 네트의 형태안정 (A shape finding of cable net by nonlinear theory)

  • The cable structures undergo large deformation because of its highly flexibility. Therefore, we must take account of its geometric nonlinearity before analysis and find the equiribrated shape of cable structures. To solve these problems, a numerical procedures included nonlinear near theory which is applicable to general cable net, flexible transmission lines and suspended cable roofs, are presented in this paper. Now, this procedures are devided two parts : the one is to obtain the equibrated shape and stress of the cable structures applied uniform load by flexibility iteration method, the other is to analysis the equibrated structures subjected to nodal external forces by nonlinear finite element mothed. Its accuracy and efficiency are found to be comparable to some of other method and, in some aspect, it is mere applicable to cable structures.

밀도분포법을 이용한 부재의 연결구조 최적화 (Topology Optimization of Connection Component System Using Density Distribution Method)

  • Most engineering products contain more than one component. Failure occurs either at the connection itself or in the component at the point of attachment of the connection in many engineering structures. The allocation and design of connections such as bolts, spot-welds, adhesive etc. usually play an important role in the structure of multi-components. Topology optimization of connection component provides more practical solution in design of multi-component connection system. In this study, a topology optimization based on density distribution approach has been applied to optimal location of fasteners such as T-shape, L-shape and multi-component connection system. From the results, it was verified that the number of iteration was reduced, and the optimal topology was obtained very similarly comparing with ESO method. Therefore, it can be concluded that the density distribution method is very suitable for topology optimization of multi-component structures.
