ART의 위상 정보를 이용한 형태기반 영상 검색 방법 (A Shape Based Image Retrieval Method using Phase of ART)

  • 영상에 포함된 객체의 형태는 내용 기반 영상검색에 있어서 중요한 정보를 가지고 있기 때문에, 이를 이용하여 영상을 검색하는 방법들이 활발히 연구되어 왔다. 그중에서도 최근에 제안된 저니키 모멘트의 위상과 크기를 이용하는 회전불변 서술자(IZMD: Invariant Zernike moment descriptor)을 이용한 영상 검색 방법은 기존의 크기 정보만을 이용한 저니키 모멘트 서술자보다 높은 영상 검색 성능을 보인다. 본 논문에서는 IZMD를 이용한 방법 보다 향상된 영상 검색 성능을 얻기 위해서 ART(Angular Radial Transform)의 크기와 위상을 이용한 회전 불변 특징 서술자(IARTD: Invariant Angular Radial Transform Descriptor)와 이를 이용해서 영상을 정합하는 방법을 제안한다. IARTD는 ART 기저함수의 특성을 이용해서 정렬된 ART 계수의 위상과 크기로 구성된 특징벡터이다. 영상의 검색은 두 IARTD의 크기차이와 위상차이의 곱을 이용하여 정의된 거리 계산 방법을 이용해서 수행한다. MPEG-7 데이터셋을 이용한 실험 결과, 제안하는 방법의 평균 BEP(Bull's Eye performance)는 0.5806으로서, ARTD나 IZMD를 이용한 영상 검색 결과의 평균 BEP 0.3574, 0.4234보다 우수한 검색 성능을 제공하는 것을 확인하였다.

조선후기 미인화에 표현된 얼굴의 미적 특성 (Aesthetic Characteristics of Face in the Late Joseon-dynasty's Beauty Paintings)

  • This study identified the aesthetic characteristics of the face description in late Joseon Dynasty beauty paintings. A total of 24 beauty paintings were selected as representative of the late Joseon Dynasty genre of painting works. The paintings were analyzed by the shape, color, and physiognomy of beauty trends from the components of women's faces expressed in the works of artists. The results of this study showed that the shape of the face components expressed a round, curved and thin line. Colors were expressed through Obang-sack (a traditional Korean color). Also the physiognomy of the late Joseon Dynasty's women was soft, wise, economical and brilliant. A round-forehead meant that economical and virtuous housekeeper, thin crescent shaped eyebrows denoted women of wisdom and excellent sensitivity. Single long thin eyelids and implied a women of longevity. A round curved nose were eager tobe a wise mother and a good wife. Small concave lips were desired eagerly by gentle and intelligent women. A curve face implied a subjective women of insight and good memory. In conclusion, the late Joseon Dynasty beauty paintings expressed a traditional Korean beauty face and a modern baby face. The data are useful for the aesthetic standards of modern through meaning of Korean traditional beauty.

Image Registration Based On Statistical Descriptors In Frequency Domain

  • Shape description and its corresponding matching algorithm is one of the main concerns in MPEG-7. In this paper, a new method is proposed for shape registration of 2D objects for MPEG-7 Shapes are recognized using the Hu statistical moments in frequency domain. The Hu moments are moment-based descriptors of planar shapes, which are invariant under general translation, rotational, scaling, and reflection transformation. The image is transformed into frequency domain using Fourier Transform. Annular and radial wedge distributions fur the power spectra are extracted. Different statistical features (Hu moments) are found f3r the power spectrum of each selected transformed individual feature. The Euclidean distance of the extracted moment descriptors of the features are found with respect to the shapes in the database. The minimum Euclidean distance is the candidate for the matched shape. The simulation results are performed on the test shapes of MPEG-7.

3차원 발 자세 추정을 위한 새로운 형상 기술자 (Shape Descriptor for 3D Foot Pose Estimation)

  • 본 논문은 3차원 발 자세를 추정하기 위한 효과적 형상 기술자를 제안하였다. 처리 시간을 단축시키기 위하여 특수 제작된 3차원 발 모형을 2차원 투영하여 발 형상 데이터베이스를 구축하고, 3차원 자세 요약정보를 메타 정보로 추가한 2.5차원 영상 데이터베이스를 구성하였다. 그리고 특징 공간 크기가 작고 다른 형상 기술자에 비하여 자세 추정 성능이 뛰어난 수정된 Centroid Contour Distance를 제안하였다. 제안된 기술자의 성능을 분석하기 위하여, 검색 정확도와 시공간 복잡도를 계산하고 기존의 방식들과 비교하였다. 실험 결과를 통하여 제안된 기술자는 특징 추출 시간과 자세 추정 정확도면에서 기존의 방식들보다 효과적인 것으로 나타났다.

Silhouette-Edge-Based Descriptor for Human Action Representation and Recognition

  • Extraction and representation of postures and/or gestures from human activities in videos have been a focus of research in this area of action recognition. With various applications cropping up from different fields, this paper seeks to improve the performance of these action recognition machines by proposing a shape-based silhouette-edge descriptor for the human body. Information entropy, a method to measure the randomness of a sequence of symbols, is used to aid the selection of vital key postures from video frames. Morphological operations are applied to extract and stack edges to uniquely represent different actions shape-wise. To classify an action from a new input video, a Hausdorff distance measure is applied between the gallery representations and the query images formed from the proposed procedure. The method is tested on known public databases for its validation. An effective method of human action annotation and description has been effectively achieved.

아이소-지오메트릭 형상 최적설계의 실험적 검증 (Experimental Validation of Isogeometric Optimal Design)

  • 본 논문에서는 아이소-지오메트릭 형상 최적설계 기법에서 얻은 CAD 정보를 직접 활용하여, 3D 프린터를 활용한 실험적 검증을 위한 시편을 제작하였다. 유한요소법에서는 요소망에 내재하는 기하학적인 근사가 응답과 설계민감도 해석에서 정밀도 문제를 발생시킨다. 더욱이 유한요소 기반 형상 최적화 과정에서는 CAD와의 정보교환이 필수적이나 그 과정에서 최적설계 정보의 손실이 발생할 수 있다. 아이소-지오메트릭 기법은 CAD에서 사용된 동일한 NURBS 기저함수와 조정점을 사용하므로 법선벡터와 곡률과 같은 엄밀한 기하학적 정보를 응답해석과 설계민감도 해석에 사용할 수 있다. 또한 최적설계 과정에서 CAD와 정보교환 없이 복잡한 형상을 손쉽게 변경할 수 있다. 그러므로 최적의 설계의 재료량을 실험적 검증을 위한 시편제작에 엄밀하게 반영할 수 있다. 굽힘 하중을 받는 단순지지 구조물에 대한 최적설계 및 실험적 검증을 통해 최적형상이 초기 형상에 비해 더 큰 강성을 가지며 실험결과와 수치 해석결과가 매우 잘 일치함을 보였다. 또한 인장력을 받는 유공판에 대한 형상 최적설계를 수행하였으며, 비접촉식 3차원 변형 측정 장치를 이용하여 초기설계에 비해 최적설계에서 구멍주변에서의 응력집중 현상이 완화됨을 확인하였다. 따라서 수치적인 방법을 활용한 최적설계가 실제 구조물에 대한 실험에서도 유효함을 입증하였다고 할 수 있다. 또한, 아이소-지오메트릭 최적설계 방법론이 기존의 유한요소법에 비해서 최적설계 결과를 제작하여 활용하는데 있어서도 훨씬 효율적이고 엄밀한 방법임을 보였다.

인도산 참복과(Tetraodontidae) 어류 3종의 형태 기재 (Morphological Description of Three Species of Pufferfishes (Tetraodontidae) from India)

  • Three species of pufferfishes (family Tetraodontidae) were examined to determine their morphological characteristics based on meristics, morphometrics, olfactory organs, and lateral line systems of specimens collected from the Chennai Fish Market in Tamil Nadu, India, in December 2016. The three species, which are all previously unreported in Korea, are Chelonodon patoca (Hamilton, 1822), Lagocephalus spadiceus (Richardson, 1845), and Arothron immaculatus (Bloch and Schneider, 1801). For nostril shape, fishes of the genus Lagocephalus have two nostrils, while Arothron and Chelonodon have none. Fishes of the genera Lagocephalus and Arothron have a single well-developed lateral line on the body, while Chelonodon fishes have two lateral lines that merge on the caudal peduncle.

ShEx Schema Generator for RDF Graphs Created by Direct Mapping

  • In this paper, we propose a method to automatically generate the description of an RDF graph structure. The description is expressed in Shape Expression Language (ShEx), which is developed by W3C and provides the syntax for describing the structure of RDF data. The RDF graphs to which this method can be applied are limited to those generated by the direct mapping, which is an algorithm for transforming relational data into RDF by W3C. A relational database consists of its schema including integrity constraints and its instance data. While the instance data can have been published in RDF by some standard methods such as the direct mapping, the translation of the schema has been missing so far. Unlike the users on relational databases, the ones on RDF datasets were forced to write repeated vague SPARQL queries over the datasets to acquire the exact results. This is because the schema for RDF data has not been provided to the users. The ShEx documents generated by our method can be referred as the schema on writing SPARQL queries. They also can validate data on RDF graph update operations with ShEx validators. In other words, they can work as the integrity constraints in relational databases.

스리랑카 불탑 형식에 대한 고찰 (Consideration of Sri Lanka Stupa Type)

  • As Sri Lanka Stupa had been affected by Indian stupa directly, understanding Sri Lanka Stupa is important to know about the flow of Buddhist Art History, which is showing the variation of Initial Buddhist stupa. Due to invasions and disasters, all Sri Lanka's Stupa collapsed and became random mound. After restoration works, Stupa shape changed dramatically from the Initial shape to Existing shape. Since it is hard to find out how Initial stupas were like, Sanchi Stupa needed to be an example for the comparative study as an Initial shape. Sri Lanka Stupa have Square foundation and 3 Basal rings that are supporting the Main Dome. Entrances are on all 4 sides, Railing and Torana(gate) has never found in Sri Lanka stupa. Sri Lanka stupa has been classified with the shape of Dome into 6~8 types according to "Vijayanta Potha", the Ancient Buddhist Description, and described by several researchers confusingly. With the inconvenience of using unfamiliar words and irrational gap between the Initial Sri Lanka stupa and Existing Sri Lanka stupa, proposing new classification of Sri Lanka Stupa is necessary. Existing Sri Lanka Stupa can be classified into 4 types : which is (1)Bell type, (2)Pot type, (3)Mound type, (4)Bubble type. This suggestion is for further studies to use Easier and shorter words to describe the types and make it reasonable to use, since the current classification includes 3 stupa types even there is no case for any of them. Restrict Stupa Classifications within existing Sri Lanka Stupa is needed because the current classification had been continued for hundreds of years without any adjustments. Bell type is mainly located in Anuradhapura. Pot type and Mound type is only found in limited area, and Bubble type is located in most area of Sri Lanka.

명당장부도(明堂臟腑圖)에서 기원한 비장도(脾臟圖) 30종의 비교 (Comparison of 30 Diagrams of Spleen originated from Ming Tang Zang Fu Tu(明堂臟腑圖))

  • Objectives : To clarify the construction, changes, and contents of the diagrams of spleen through comparison of 30 different diagrams originated from Mingtangzangfutu. Methods : The diagrams were analyzed in whole shape, ratio between width and height, shape of the lower part, and concavo-convex of the middle part, then matched to the characteristics of the section diagram. The contents of the diagram of the spleen were newly interpreted with comparison to the classical texts. Results : The whole shape is described to be a long sword, long stick, bottle gourd, western pear, sole of feet. The height to width ratio was mostly above 4.0:1, but those listed in the 『Bianquemaishunaning』 and 『Hehensancaituhui』 were 1.9:1~1.0:1, most similar to the numbers described in the 『Nanjing』. The shape of the lower part was narrow and sharp, narrow and flat or wide and flat. To analyze through affiliation characteristic, properties of other affiliations could be found. In comparison to classical texts, the diagrams could be found to be affected by 『Nanjing』 and Wangbing's annotations. The diagrams of the spleen should be composed of the spleen, the cord of spleen, and Sangao(散膏); but those which distinguish the spleen and the cord of spleen are twelve. The description of its shape as being similar to sword or sickle seems to come from Lichan's misunderstanding of the diagram in 『Zhenjiujuying』. Those that mention Sangao are merely two and their opinion on the position are different from each other; both did not identify it with the pancreas. Conclusions : In the process of the diagrams differentiating into 30 they were affected by the classical texts. The various changes seem to come from difference in understanding of the content composition of the diagram of the spleen.
