비틀림짙동 저감을 위한 추진축 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design of Propeller Shaft for Reduction of Torsional Vibration)

  • A full-time four wheel drive vehicle is driven literally full time by the front and the rear wheels. Front and rear drive shafts are rotated rapidly in the extremely torsional state, which can cause various vibration and noise problems. The purpose of this study is to reduce the vibration and the noise of the full -time four wheel drive vehicle. In this paper, both the causes and the methods for reduction of torsional vibration are suggested. For this study, the characteristics of the torsional vibration are analyzed by free and forced torsional vibration simulation. And this paper described the influence upon the torsional vibration with emphasis shafting system. The validity of simulation models is checked by the field test. The forced vibration simulation with the variations of shaft design factors are performed by the checked models. According to the simulation , the resonance region shifts and the torque fluctuation varies in the system,. Finally, the methods and the effects for the torsional vibration reduction in driveline are proposed.

  • For the past years, higher power rating 2 stroke super long stroke diesel engines having more than 8 cylinders and larger cylinder bore are installed mainly on very large containerships to save on fuel consumption. However, these engines are prone to X-mode vibration due to $2^{nd}$ node torsional vibration or the X-type moment, particularly because of the increase in total length and height. Recently, cases of excessive X-mode vibration often occurred on engine's major components. This vibration is manifested also as secondary vibration causing failure in engine-mount large structures. This study investigated the excitations caused by the $2^{nd}$ node propulsion shafting torsional vibration that influence X-mode vibration of the main engine and practical countermeasures are proposed. An 8RT-82RT-flex 8 cylinder engine and 11S90S-ME 11 cylinder engine for a container ship was used as research model.

A Study on the Reduction of the Torsional Angular Acceleration on Chain Drive Wheel of Marine Diesel Engine

  • When the propulsion shafting system of marine diesel engine is designed. the vibratory stresses on shafts should be reviewed and be satisfied with limits which are laid down by classification societies In addition. the torsional vibration aspects for crankshaft of main engine are requested to be checked by engine designers. Especially. for the 4, 5, and 6-cylinder engines. the 2nd order moment compensator(s) may be installed to compensate the external moments of engine and not to excite the hull girder vibration. This moment compensator which is mounted on fore and/or after-end of engine is driven by the roller chain drive for some of MAN 2-stroke diesel engines. While the engine is running, the roller chain Is worn down, which causes the extension of roller chain. The chain therefore should be checked and tightened by periods in order to keep its functionality. However. when the torsional angular acceleration of chain drive exceeds the certain limit. the chain will suffer the excessive slack and transverse vibration. This may cause fatigue, wear or damage on the chain and the chain ultimately may be broken. The research object of this thesis is to review factors which affect the angular acceleration of chain drive and to find out how to decrease the angular acceleration of driving chain by checking factors which have a major contribution to acceleration reduction using the statistical method of DOE(design of experiment), correlation analysis and regression analysis methods.

  • This paper presents the summary of control of abnormal vibration found in the COP motors of a nuclear power plant. All six identical units of COP pump-motor assemblies showed unstable vibration pattern of which one or two showed higher vibration enough to exceed the allowable level from the installation stage. Many trials of test, measurement, overhaul and replacement had been repeated to investigate and solve the problem but only to reach unsatisfactory settlement. Recently several times of site tests are made and followed by significant diagnostic actions in which the authors group participated. It was found that the coupled shafting system of motor and pump is in close resonance with the $1^{st}$ shaft rotating speed. Redesign of topside motor bearing clearance is made to increase bearing stiffness and hence to avoid the resonance which consequently led to reduce the troubled vibration to allowable and stable status.

有限要素法에 의한 推進軸系의 광振動計算에 관한 硏究 (Calculation of Transverse Vibration of Ship`s Propulsion Shaftings by the Finite Element Method)

  • Due to increasing ship dimensions and installed propulsive power, resonance frequencies of the propeller shaft system tend to decrease and they can appear in some cases within the operating range of the shaft revolution. For calculation of transverse shaft vibrations, various methods have been proposed but as they are mainly for approximate calculation, no contented results are obtained. For fairly accurate estimation of resonance frequencies in the design stage, one can use transfer matrix method of the finite element method and former is rather prefered in ordinary cases. In this study, the finite element method which is utilized for calculation of the propulsion shaft alignment, is introduced to derive the vibration equation of the ship's propulsion shaftings. The digital computer program is developed to solve the above equation, and the details of preparing the input data are described. The method presented in the underlying report was applied to the shafting of ship which has a lignumvitae bearing to verify its reliability and the results of calculation and those of the measurements on rotating shaft show a good agreement. Calculating methods of exciting of forces and damping forces are also discussed for future work.

  • At the initial stage of propulsion shaft design, in line with shaft alignment, an intensified consideration of lateral vibration is needed to verify its operational safety. Recently the alignment problem affecting the lateral vibration has been becoming issues. However, the theoretical method of forced lateral vibration analysis is not cleary established so far and it is about to simply limited among the classification societies and international standards to avoid the blade natural frequency resonance cpm outside of ${\pm}20%$ of engine rpm at MCR. On the other hand, longer center distance between each support bearing shows an affirmative result normally in shaft alignment analysis whereas the blade order resonance speed may cause lowering near the limitation in the aspect of lateral vibration. Therefore, it is required careful attention to engineers as described above. As a method to solve the problem, it is mainly considered that remove forward stern tube bearing. In this paper, based on a medium size container ship case, theoretical study was carried out in the context of the forward stern tube bearing. The various effects and functions of forward stern tube bearing are reviewed and evaluated. Then an guidance note to lead the conclusion is proposed.

73,000톤 산적화물선의 선체거더 종진동 현상분석 (A Study on the Longitudinal Hull Girder Vibration of a 73,000 Deadweight Bulk Carrier)

  • 선체거더의 종진동 현상은 60년대에 이미 조사된 바 있으나 기존 선박들에서는 종방향 기진력이 작았기 때문에 선체 종진동 현상이 거의 나타나지 않았다. 그러나 80년대 중반이후의 대형 저속디젤엔진 추진선에서는 추진축계 비틂 공진점에서 연성되어 작용하는 축계 종방향 기진력에 의하여 선체전체의 종진동이 유발될 수도 있다. 본 연구에서는 73,000톤 산적화물선에서 감지된 선체거더의 종진동 현상을 실선계측 및 해상기진기 실험 그리고 유한요소 해석방법으로 분석하였다. 분석결과 이러한 선체 종진동 현상은 Over-critical 축계 시스템을 갖춘 선박에서만 축계 종방향 기진력에 의해 나타날 수가 있으며 그 중에서도 주기관의 연속 사용금지구역(barred range)이 설정되지 않은 선박의 경우엔 하중조건에 따라 저속 입출항 운항시 선루를 포함한 선체에 심한 중진동이 발생될 수 있슴이 판명되었다.

선체변형을 고려한 탄성 축계정렬 설계 프로그램 개발 (Development of Elastic Shaft Alignment Design Program)

  • The effects of flexibilities of supporting structures on shaft alignment are growing as ship sizes are Increasing mainly for container carrier and LNG carrier. But, most of classification societies not only do not suggest any quantitative guidelines about the flexibilities but also do not have shaft alignment design program considering the flexibility of supporting structures. A newly developed program, which is based on innovative shaft alignment technologies including nonlinear elastic multi-support bearing concept and hull deflection database approach, has S basic modules : 1)fully automated finite element generation module, 2) hull deflection database and it's mapping module on bearings, 3) squeezing and oil film pressure calculation module, 4) optimization module and 5) gap & sag calculation module. First module can generate finite element model including shafts, bearings, bearing seats, hull and engine housing without any misalignment of nodes. Hull deflection database module has built-in absolute deflection data for various ship types, sizes and loading conditions and imposes the transformed relative deflection data on shafting system. The squeezing of lining material and oil film pressures, which are relatively solved by Hertz contact theory and built-in hydrodynamic engine, can be calculated and visualized by pressure calculation module. One of the most representative capabilities is an optimization module based on both DOE and Hooke-Jeeves algorithm.

  • 양방향차도선(CAR-FERRY)은 육지와 도서, 도서와 도서 간을 연결하는 교통수단 기능과 지속적인 해양관광객의 수요증가에 따른 해양관광 연계 연안여객 운송수단 역할을 하고 있다. 이에 따른 양방향 차도선은 이용의 편리성이 증대 되고 접안으로 인한 해양 사고를 줄일 수 있다. 양방향차도선은 등흘수(even) 상태로 프로펠러가 양쪽에 있기 때문에 프로펠러가 소직경 저회전으로 인하여 전진 운항 시에 반력에 의한 축계 및 프로펠러 파손 등이 발생할 수 있다. 이에 따른 엔진 출력, 선형, 비틀림 진동 등에 따른 감속기, 탄성커플링 선정, 횡진동 및 축계정렬(Shaft alignment)을 고려한 축계설계(베어링 수량, 폭, 간격)를 하여 선체의 추진축 1차 지지부의 구조에 대한 건전성을 평가하였다.

새유달호 축기전력의 특성 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Characteristic Analysis of Shaft Electromotive Force in SAEYUDAL)

  • 전기기기나 엔진의 축은 여러 가지 원인으로 축기전력이 발생한다. 이런 축과 베어링이 윤활유로 절연되어 있어 콘덴서를 이루고 있고, 콘덴서와 같은 역할로 기전력을 축적하고 있다. 이 축 기전력은 선체에 비해 극히 일부를 제외하고 +전압을 갖고 있다. 이 +전압이 축의 전기 스파크를 일으켜 부식을 야기 시킬 수 있다. 이 부식을 막기 위해 선박에서는 샤프트 그라운드 시스템을 설치하여 운용하고 있다. 이 축기전력을 측정은 프로펠러 축의 전압과 메인엔진의 회전수를 동시에 측정하였다. 측정장치는 내셔널인스트루먼트사의 24비트 A/D컨버터를 사용하여 측정하였고, 프로그램은 Lab View를 사용하였다. 본 논문은 축에 발생되는 기전력을 분석하였고, 분석결과를 이용하여 모델링을 하였다. 결과로 축기전력은 메인엔진의 회전수에 따라 비례하다가 일정회전수를 넘어가면 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 후진보다는 전진이 축기전력이 높은 결과를 얻었다. 전체기전력에 비하면 지구자기의 기전력은 미미하였다.
