Objectives Experience of early childhood abuse elevates the risk of developing schizophrenia in later period of life, incidence of psychiatric comorbidity, symptomatic severity and complexity. In this context, we hypothesized that the pattern of psychotropic medication used would reflect this; those with childhood trauma will received more types and higher doses of psychotropic medication. Methods From our database of 102 outpatients diagnosed with Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition (DSM-IV) schizophrenia, we analyzed experiences of childhood trauma measured by the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire-Short Form and types and dose of prescribed psychotropic medication. Results We found significant positive correlations between child sexual abuse and the number of psychotropic medications (p = 0.029) and between child emotional neglect and the number of psychotropic medications other than antipsychotics (p = 0.045). Conclusions This preliminary study suggests that the pattern of psychotropic use may be affected by types of childhood trauma. Further studies will have to shed light on mediating factors such as symptoms or comorbid conditions that lead to prescription of certain psychotropic class.
Purpose: This study aimed to investigate perceptions of child abuse and factors influencing those perceptions among nursing students. Methods: A descriptive research design was used with a convenience sample of 669 nursing students. Data was collected from September 1 to 25, 2016 using self-report questionnaires and analyzed with descriptive statistics, the t-test, analysis of variance, the Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis in SPSS for Windows version 21.0. Results: The mean score for perceptions of child abuse was $3.52{\pm}0.41$, and the scores by subcategory were as follows: physical abuse, $3.61{\pm}0.39$; emotional abuse, $3.54{\pm}0.53$; neglect, $3.17{\pm}0.69$; sexual abuse, $3.85{\pm}0.35$. A significant correlation was found between perceptions of child abuse and parental acceptance-rejection attitude (warmth/affection, indifference/neglect, undifferentiated rejection). The factors influencing perceptions of child abuse were gender, experiences of child abuse, and perceived parental attitudes of warmth/affection and undifferentiated rejection, which explained 5.1% of the variances. Conclusion: Based on the finding of this study, educational programs and guidelines should be developed to help nursing students improve their perceptions of child abuse.
Conventional atom model must be criticized on the following four points. (1) Natural motions between positive and negative entities are not circular motions but linear going and returning ones, for examples sexual motion, tidal motion, day and night etc. (2) Potential energy generation was neglected when electron changes its orbit from outer one to inner one. The hv is the Kinetic energy of the photo-electron. The total energy difference between orbits comprises kinetic and potential energies. (3) The structure of the space must be taken into consideration because the properties of the electron do not change during the transition form outer orbit to inner one even though it produces photon. (4) Total energy conservation law applies to the energy flow between mind and matter because we daily experiences a interconnection between mind and body. New atomic model (the crystallizing $\pi$-bonding) was proposed in the journal of material processing technology since 1997 for the explanation of the mechanical behaviors in terms of physics. $\prod$-ray physics proved that the electrons can come out from in the nucleus and modern chemistry corresponds to the $\pi$-bonding by the nuclear electrons. The $\pi$-bonding structure of the protons outside the nucleus is that electrons move between protons of the different atoms. The perception step and the characteristic frequency in signal transduction is due to the accumulation of the $\pi$-rays outside fo the proton before their absorption to the nucleus.

(4) Total energy conservation law applies to the energy flow between mind and matter because we daily experiences a interconnection between mind and body. $\prod$-rays come out from the crystallizing $\pi$-bondings when they vibrate or deform. Gaston Naessens(1950) invented a microscope, which can visualize the $\pi$-rays in blood. Unordinarily agglomerated spores of $\pi$-rays may provoke poor immunity and bad illness. The agglomerated spores of $\pi$-rays can make closed type $\pi$-bondings in the case of carbohydrates and esters but proteins build open type $\pi$-bondings because the peptide bonds are planar, which principle produces a life.
The purpose of this study was to generate a grounded theory of how families with kidney donor or recipient coped with kidney transplantations. Interview data from twelve families involved in kidney transplants was analyzed using the grounded theory method. Data analysis revealed that “protecting the family” was the main theme that represented family member experiences. In order to maintain family function and to protect the family from breaking up, family members had to adjust the family structure from the traditional style of a husband-centered family, to one that was patient health -centered. The process of this adjustment was a very long and difficult one, taking several years from the recognition of the kidney disease to the kidney transplants. Family members, especially spouses, employed nine different strategies to deal with various problems and conflicts which occurred during the process : 1) paying attention to the patient's illness and complications ; 2) accepting the patient's illness as the family's illness as well ; 3) managing the patient's illness and complications that occured ; 4) being thrifty ; 5)supporting the kidney donor ; 6) accepting and replacing the lost roles of the patient ; 7) keeping composure and encouraging the patient ; 8) sustaining the patient's independence ; 9) self-restraining sexual desires. These findings suggest that there is a developmental process where family members adjust to a kidney transplant over time. There is also a need for increased social and psychological health services for all family members over the course of kidney transplants.
Purpose: The suicide rate of adolescents in Korea is increasing annually. Therefore, this research was done to identify the suicide attempt rate of middle and high school students and to identify factors that influence suicidal attempts. Methods: The Korea Youth Health Risk Behavior Web-based Survey (2007) was used as data. Discriminant analysis and logistic regression were performed to analyze the data depending on gender to consider the gender difference in assessing the influence of each independent variable on suicidal attempts. Results: Discriminant analysis according on gender showed that 13 factors correlated with suicidal attempts for boys, and 20 factors for girls. The most highly correlated factors were smoking, depression and inhalation experience. For inhalation experience, boys had 2.7 times higher possibility of suicide attempts (95% CI 1.8-3.0) and girls, a 2.4 times higher possibility (95% CI 1.7-3.5). Conclusion: The results of the study indicate a need to classify adolescents for expectation of suicide risk and high danger for suicidal attempts through, and introduce suicide prevention programs for these adolescents. In particular, it is necessary to start intervention with students who smoke, have sexual and inhalation experiences and high levels of depression.
This study investigated the purpose of internet usage among high-school seniors and how their psychological, behavioral, and interpersonal adjustment levels were affected by the amount of lime spent on the internet. The subjects were 572 high-school seniors who participated in the first panel of Korean Education Empolyment Panel (KEEP). The participants were divided into 2 groups: low use group using the internet for less than 30 minutes a day and high un group using the internet for more than 3 hours a day. The adjustment levels of these two groups were compared. The findings were as follows. First, the high use group used the internet to enjoy games, whereas the low use group used the internet to seek schoolwork-related information. Second, the high use group had more negative self-concepts and experienced more stress regarding economic hardship than the low use group. Finally, the high use group watched T.V. longer, studied less, and had more experiences of deviant behaviors, such as bullying, smoking, drinking, and sexual relations.
The purpose of the study was to identify the motives of women's appearance-management behavior, and examine how women perceived the appearance -management behavior and pursuit of ideal body image. The depth interview method was managed to five female subjects who had experiences in plastic surgery and obesity treatment. The instance analysis used in this study. The results were as follows : There were four types of women's appearance-management behavior. First, women perceived themselves by using other people's evaluation, and it was the first motive of appearance-management behavior. It shows that appearance is not based on the real self-image but is the evaluated self-image by others. Second, women were willing to suffer the pain in the plastic surgery and obesity treatment by the expectation of appearance improvement. It means the result of reducing the difference between the actual self-figure and the ideal self-image. Third, the sexual discrimination culture had an influence on appearance-management behavior. It seems the sense of male superiority spreaded over the Korean society. Lastly, women improved self-satisfaction and self-esteem through their physical appearance as an alternative method for better life.
This study focused on popular YouTube subculture content and male YouTuber characteristics. We conducted a case study on YouTube videos and viewer's comments of male YouTubers who interacted with subculture or fashion themes within YouTube. Based on Dick Hebdige's subculture theory, we categorized male subculture characteristics of style expression to show how YouTube plays a role in the formation of subculture. The representative types of male subculture were divided into metro sexual, adolescent boys, drag queen, and homosexual. YouTube simultaneously played a role in accumulating video viewing as well as indirect experiences in various communication activities and cultures among viewers. YouTube was used as a space for video producers as well as viewers and subscribers to discover and build identity. Subculture makes people aware of cultural diversity within society, and their doubles and lifestyles serve as important clues to track culture and fashion changes. This research is significant in the field of fashion media and subculture research due to its examination of male subculture phenomenon on YouTube based on an analysis of the video content of culture insiders and viewers' comments as well as immediate responses.
