The specific purpose of this study was as follows: 1) To identify the level of sexual awareness and demand for sex education of teenagers, their parents and teachers. 2) To investigate the attitude toward and acceptance of heterosexual friendships by teenagers, their parents and teachers. 3) To identify the experience and direction of sex education of parents and teachers. For this purpose, this study selected 341 male and female teenagers at three high schools located in a city, 119 parents with high school students and 243 elementary/middle/high school teachers. The structured questionnaire was distributed to each of them and returned by them. This study was conducted over the period between June 1. 2001 and Aug 31. 2001. A total of 720 questionnaires were distributed to them and 703 were returned. Data analysis was conducted to obtain percentage and frequency using the SAS program. As a result, the following findings were obtained: Parents and teachers showed a similar attitude about sexual awareness, but teenagers showed a different attitude. In terms of the level of feeling of and interest in 'sex', teenagers, parents and teachers were comfortable in accepting it. As for sexual curiosity in puberty, 84.8% of the parents and 95.5% of the teachers responded that it was natural, whereas only 14.7% of teenagers responded that it was natural. But As for the item that 'sex is natural as one of human needs', 3.6% of the teenagers, 16.8% of the parents and only 1.2% of the teachers responded that it was not. As for the item that 'A man has a stronger sexual impulse than a woman', 6.1% of the teenagers, 16.8% of the parents and 17.3% of the teachers responded that it was not. 64.2% of the teenagers and 90.2% of the teachers responded that it was impossible to overcome the sexual impulse, whereas only 8.4% of the parents responded that it was possible. As for the item of masturbation, 64.5% of the teenagers responded that it was possible for male students and not possible for female students. 67.2% of the parents and 91.1% of the teachers responded that it was possible regardless of sex. As for the item of an attitude toward virginal purity, both the parents and teachers showed that virginal purity was important for both man and woman, but teenagers showed a weak awareness of virginal purity. As for the item, 'It is possible to have sexual intercourse with a lover during adolescence', 20.2% of the teenagers, 79% of the parents and 87.7% of the teachers responded that it was impossible. As for the item 'It is necessary to keep premarital virginal purity for a happy married life', 21.1% of the teenagers, 74.8% of the parents and 55.1% of the teachers responded that it was necessary, which shows that teenagers had a different opinion than parents and teachers. In case of pregnancy in adolescence, most of the responding teenagers, parents and teachers chose abortion. As for the item 'female refusal on male sexual approach', respondents accepted female refusal as they did for orders of teachers, parents and adolescents. As for item 'An assaulter is entirely to blame for sexual assault', all of three groups responded in the affirmative.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of sexual education on sex knowledge and attitude in elementary school students. Method: Questionnaire data were collected from 4 elementary schools located in Y-gu, Seoul. Final participants included 512 older school-age children. Results: There were significant differences in the degree of sex knowledge (t=-28.35, p<.001) and attitude (t=-18.44, p<.001) between the pretest and the post-test. The degree of sex knowledge changed significantly according to grade, sex, and experience with sex-related questions, and the degree of sex attitude changed significantly according to grade and sex. There was a significant correlation in the degree of change between sex knowledge and attitude (r=.28, p<.001). Conclusion: In this study, sex education for elementary school students effectively changed sex knowledge and attitude. Sex education is recommended elementary school students as well as adolescents in order to encourage responsibility in desirable sex behavior.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to provide basic data to improve prehospital emergency care for patients with labor pain, vaginal bleeding and rape experience by analyzing the reports of 119 emergency medical technicians. Methods: Data were prehospital reports of 190 patients having chief complaints of labor pain, vaginal bleeding and rape in Chungcheongnam-do from January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2012. Data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 descriptive statistics and $x^2$-test. Results: From the 190 cases of labor pain, vaginal bleeding and rape, labor pain accounted for 57.9% including 75.5% of normal delivery; vaginal bleeding accounted for 35.8% including 26.5% of postpartum hemorrhage; and rape victims accounted for 6.3%. Cases with more than one vital sign accounted for 94.2%, but cases without primary assessment of the obstetrics and gynaecology accounted for 38.4% from gestation weeks, 78.0% from parity, and 87.4% from history taking relating to event. Patient care including emotional support was the first priority care accounted for 78.4% and 60% of care was keeping the patients warm. Conclusion : In order to handle various emergency situations properly, the records must be supplemented by obstetrical and gynaecological rape checklist and rape victims supporting system should be established.
Purpose: The study investigated the knowledge and actual condition of sexuallytransmitted diseases(STD) in Mongoloian. Method: Data from 210 Mongolians were collected for 6days from August 10-15, 2008 using a questionnaire translated by Mongolians to identify the knowledge of STD and with permission, analysis of blood and human immuno deficiency virus(HIV) by SD Bioline Syphilis 3.2 test and SD Bioline HIV-1/2 3.0 test respectively. The data was scored by mean ${\pm}$ standard deviation. Differences were evaluated according to the subjects' general characteristics by t-test and the ANOVA. Results: The average knowledge score concerning STD 48.99(${\pm}.19$) indicated a low level of knowledge. STD was detected in six(2.9%) and HIV was four(1.9%) of the 210 subjects. General characteristics significantly different knowledge level were gender(t=-3.098, p=.002), education(F=6.090, p=.003), type of employment(F=2.443, p=.049), and sexual education experience(F=5.604, p=.004). Conclusion: Education programs to increase STD awareness and its prevention must be developed and regular health evaluations for those already have sexual transmitted disease is needed.
The purpose of this study is to analyse factors related to sex behavior and intention to premarital purity on the basis of theory of reasoned action. A structured Questionnaire was developed on the basis of Triandis model. Survey was conducted to 1662 unmarried person in high school students, college students, and workers. The results are as follows. For the factor of sexual behavior, male, older age had higher experience to sexual relationship, but for the factor of premarital purity, female and workers than student had higher consciousness of purity. Positive attitude to premarital purity, expectation toward preservation of purity, parental and social normative influence and facilitating factor such as experiences of sex education showed significant relationship to intention of premarital purity. Also multiple logistic regression showed that health behaviors such as smoking and drinking, sex and job were statistically significant factor for sex behavior. The result of this study suggest that educational program sex as well as good health behavior should developed and theory-based models in conducting health education research.
The purpose of the research was to investigate the characteristics and related factors of dating violence. The subjects were 548 adolescents in high schools. The gathered information was analyzed by frequency, percent, 1-test, ANOVA, and correlation by using the SPSS 10.0 program. The results were as follows: (1) $58.6\%$ of respondents have had one or more dates with the other sex, so the association with the other sex is remarkably universal and natural. (2) In the case of physical violence, $18.5\%$ claimed that they have been injured in some ways, and $18.3\%$ said some kind of harm was done to them. (3) In terms of psychological violence, $32.8\%$ reported psychological damage and $35.6\%$ reported being harmed. (4) In terms of sexual violence, $20.8\%$ reported damage, while $18.2\%$ said they were harmed. (5) The relationship between physical, psychological and sexual violence has a significant relationship with the overall experience of violence. (6) When we looked at the social demographic factors, we found that boys rather than girls, and vocational school students rather than academic school students have more violent experiences.
Objective : The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between subjective sleep problems and various types of traumatic events of patients with depressive disorder. Methods : A total of 411 patients diagnosed with depressive disorders were recruited in this study. The participants filled out Life Time Events Checklist (LEC), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), and State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI). We used the independent t-test and analysis of covariance to compare each component of PSQI between depressive patients with and without traumatic experiences. Results : The groups of patients who experienced a serious accident at work, home or during recreational activity, sexual assault, other unwanted or uncomfortable sexual experience, life-threatening illness or injury, and sudden, unexpected death of a near and dear one showed lower scores in a few components of PSQI. Sleep disturbance was a common problem in all five groups. Lower subjective sleep quality and longer sleep latency was observed in three groups. There were no differences in the other components of PSQI among groups. Conclusion : This study showed that various types of traumatic events may have different effects on subjective sleep quality as a consequence of the traumatic event which they had experienced.

Objectives: School must provide the proper sex education to students, thereby, the students for have right standards of sexuality and preventing from sexual crimes. This study conducted to identify the effectiveness and students' satisfaction level on Sex education program for middle school students prepared by the Ministry of Education and Human Resources. Methods: The sample size of the study was 644 students(458 female students and 186 male students) in middle school. A self reporting type of questionnaire survey was conducted from May 2 through May 27, 2005. Collected data were processed using SPSSwin 12.0; The data were analysed through t-test, stepwise multiple regression analysis. Results: Lectures and audiovisual materials were mostly used for sex education for students. Many students were satisfied with the program of physical and sexual organ development, pregnancy, contraceptive methods and sexual abuse. Many students wanted to study more on courtship, love, and marriage. The programs which the students did not understand well were sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancy and mass media and sex. Forty six percentage of the students reported that they were satisfied with the education program. Thirty three percentage of the students said that they were not satisfied with the program. The students who had earlier menstruation experience and the students whose academic achievement were higher were more satisfied with sex education program (P<.05). The students who were satisfied with the sex education CD prepared by the ministry of education were more satisfied with sex education program. (P<.001). When the CDs were appropriately used, the students were more satisfied with the education program (P<.05). The sound and pictures in the CD did not much affect the students. Audiovisual programs were more effective than lectures.
Purpose: In an attempt to measure the changes in gender-egalitarianism after sexuality education based on the gender-egalitarianism in middle school students, this study was carried out. Methods: The subjects were 137 students (67 boys and 70 girls) in 4 classes that were randomized from among 8 classes of first graders in a coeducational middle school, in Seoul. By the school nurse with the assistance of an advisory committee on sex education by the MOE, sexuality education was implemented based on gender-egalitarianism. The content was presented over 18 hours during 16 weeks, from September, 2001 to December, 2001. For the pre and post check on gender-egalitarianism, a Gender Egalitarianism Scale modified by the researcher was used. Results: After the sexuality education based on the gender-egalitarianism, there was a significant elevation in gender-egalitarianism(t=4.378, p=0.000). There were no significant differences in the mean changes in gender-egalitarianism according to religion, economy level, educational level of parents, and openness of parents. And little experiences in adult video, no experience in masturbation, and being without the opposite sex were related to significant elevations in gender-egalitarianism. The case of the having the positive sexual attitudes showed a significant elevation in gender-egalitarianism as compared with the case of having negative sexual attitudes. Conclusions: Based on these results, sexuality education based on gender-egalitarianism for youth was effective in elevating gender-egalitarianism scores. Because the case of the wide experiences with sexual behaviors showed a tendency to make low gender-egalitarianism, the education program would be effective to implement early in the school as childhood is a period in which children have a non-established sex-role.
The purpose of this study was to understand the violence experiences of female nurses in general hospitals and to investigate the influence of violence experiences on depression. The research subjects were 2,714 female nurses in five general hospitals in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. As a results, female nurses in general hospitals suffered from verbal, physical and sexual violences in descending order while working. Age, marital status, work type, experiences of verbal violence and sexual violence had the influence on depression. Sexual violence experiences influenced on depression the most. Based on the results of the study, it is proposed that subsequent studies are necessary to provide more practical solution; quantitative researches investigating violence in depth, and qualitative researches identifying differences in violence and response to violence in workplace by profession.
