  • New driving waveform which can be inferred by analyzing fundamental LC mechanism is suggested. The main idea of the new waveform is the stabilizing LC layer fast in the cell by controlling the middle director of LC layer.   • 임베디드 리눅스 디바이스 드라이버의 개발이 증가하면서 리눅스 디바이스 드라이버에 대한 오류 테스트 기능을 가진 모듈의 필요성이 증가되고 있다. 본 논문은 리눅스 디바이스 드라이버를 위한 오류 테스트 모듈의 기본 개념을 제시하며, 기본 개념을 바탕으로 오류 테스트 모듈을 설계한다. 오류 테스트 모듈의 설계를 위해 리눅스 디바이스 드라이버의 메모리 관련 오류를 분류하고, 오류가 발생할 가능성이 존재하는 부분에 대한 검증을 위한 코드를 추가하여 테스트 모듈을 작성한다. 또한 작성된 오류 테스트 모듈의 실험을 진행하였다. 실험을 통해 리눅스 디바이스 드라이버의 오류 테스트 모듈이 동작을 확인 할 수 있다.

  • The methanol extracts of AraIia elata showed antimicrobial activity against bacteria. The antimicrobial active principle was successively purified with solvent fractionation, silica gel adsorption column chromatography, Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography, silica gel partition column chromatography and HPLC. The active substance was isolated by HPLC on $C_{18}$ column with an acetic acid-MeOH system. The active substance was identified as trans-4-hydroxycinnamic acid by MS, $^1H-NMR\;and\;^{13}C-NMR$.

  • Computational analysis of aqueous solution stability of Fe-Cr-Ni system to find an electroplating condition of Fe-Cr-Ni layer. Aqueous sulfate solution with iron, chromium and nickel ions was selected by using a numerical S/W with which aqueous solution stability was analyzed. Several possible conditions to perform electro-forming of Fe-Cr-Ni were selected with thermo-dynamical data. The Fe-Cr-Ni system was electro-formed which composition and microstructure of the electroplated Fe-Cr-Ni significantly depended on the solution temperature and electro-potential. The final composition of Fe-3%Cr-48%Ni with less than $30{\mu}m$ thick was well electroplated.

Layered $LiCo_{x}Mn_{1-x}O_2$ as Cathode Materials for Li-Ion Batteries

  • Orthorhombic type LiCo$_{x}$Mn$_{1-x}$ O$_2$(0$\leq$x$\leq$0.14) oxides have been synthesized by hydrothermal treatment of (Co$_{x}$Mn$_{1-x}$ )$_3$O$_4$precursors and LiOH aqueous solution at 17$0^{\circ}C$. As-synthesized powders showed well-ordered $\beta$-MaMnO$_2$structures, and the products were single crystalline particle oxides from TEM observations. The particle size decreased with increasing the amount of Co substituent. Much more improved capacity upon 100 cyclings was clearly seen in orthorhombic LiCo$_{0.1}$Mn$_{0.9}$O$_2$, comparing to orthorhombic LiMnO$_2$./TEX>.EX>.

  • Insulation in buildings are one of the crucial factors for energy reduction, and depending on the application areas and properties of the insulation requirements, various different types of insulation materials are being developed, produced, and used. Amongst these is the aircaps often used as packing materials. Because of their porous nature, they are highly efficient in preventing heat and are consequently used overseas often as insulation materials and as part of cold water concrete insulation curing method. This paper studies the recently developed usage of aircaps in waterproofing materials and evaluated their performance as supplementary insulation materials.

  • In this study, it is contemporaneously understood that tile attachment on CRC board do not have a regulated standard on quality control and construction. Furthermore, there is also a definite lack of standardization on nondestructive inspection of tiles. This thesis investigates a diagnosis method of spot bonding tile attachment using infrared thermal camera as a way to propose a systematic nondestructive inspection method after tile construction.

  • An optimal design method with nonlinear elastic analysis is presented. The proposed nonlinear elastic method overcomes the drawback of the conventional LRFD method that accounts for nonlinear effect by using the moment amplification factors of $B_1$ and $B_2$. The genetic algorithm used is a procedure based on Darwinian notions of survival of the fittest, where selection, crossover, and mutation operators are employed to look for high performance ones among sections in the database. They are satisfied with the constraint functions and give the lightest weight to the structure. The objective function taken is the total weight of the steel structure and the constraint functions are strength, serviceability, and ductility requirement. Case studies of a planar portal frame, a space two-story frame, and a three-dimensional steel arch bridge are presented.

  • Single specimen (68 mm TL) of the Shiho's seahorse Hippocampus sindonis collected from Geomun Island was described as a first record from Korea. The species is characterized by having 15 dorsal fin-rays, 14 pectoral fin-rays, snout length 2.8 in HL, trunk rings 10, and tail rings 37. A new Korean name, "Sin-do-hae-ma" is proposed.

  • Reduction of methanol crossover in proton exchange membranes (PEMs) can be achieved by 1) the selection of materials, 2) the morphology control, and 3) the adequate crosslinking [1, 2]. The selection of polymer matrix of PEM for direct methanol fuel cells (DMFCs) is very important because the proton conductivity and methanol permeability are largely dependent upon the properties of polymers.(omitted)
