  • Group scheduling, which is a kind of operations scheduling based on the GT concept is analyzed in a multi-stage manufacturing system. The purpose of this research is to develop and evaluate a heuristic algorithm for determining gro up sequence and job sequence within each group to minimize a complex cost function, i.e. the sum of the total pe-nalty cost for tardiness and the total holding cost for flow time, in a multi-stage manufacturing system with group setup time dependent upon group sequence. A heuristic algorithm for group sc heduling is developed, and a numerical example is illustrated. For the evaluation of the pro-posed heuristic algorithm, the heuristic solution of each of 63 problems is compared with that of random scheduling. The result shows that the proposed heuristic algorithm provides better solution in light of the proposed cost function.

  • When using Image Guided Radiation Therapy, the patient is placed using skin marker first and after confirming anatomical location using OBI, the couch is moved to correct the set up. Evaluation for the error made at that moment was done. Through comparing $0^{\circ}$ and $270^{\circ}$ direction DRR image and OBI image with 2D-2D matching when therapy planning, comparison between patient's therapy plan setup and actual treatment setup was made to observe the error. Treatment confirmation on important organs such as head, neck and spinal cord was done every time through OBI setup and other organs such as chest, abdomen and pelvis was done 2 ~ 3 times a week. But corrections were all recorded on OIS so that evaluation on accuracy could be made through using skin index which was divided into head, neck, chest and abdomen-pelvis on 160 patients. Average setup error for head and neck patient on each AP, SI, RL direction was $0.2{\pm}0.2cm$, $-0.1{\pm}0.1cm$, $-0.2{\pm}0.0cm$, chest patient was $-0.5{\pm}0.1cm$, $0.3{\pm}0.3cm$, $0.4{\pm}0.2cm$, and abdomen was $0.4{\pm}0.4cm$, $-0.5{\pm}0.1cm$, $-0.4{\pm}0.1cm$. In case of pelvis, it was $0.5{\pm}0.3cm$, $0.8{\pm}0.4cm$, $-0.3{\pm}0.2cm$. In rigid body parts such as head and neck showed lesser setup error compared to chest and abdomen. Error was greater on chest in horizontal axis and in AP direction, abdomen-pelvis showed greater error. Error was greater on chest in horizontal axis because of the curve in patient's body when the setup is made. Error was greater on abdomen in AP direction because of the change in front and back location due to breathing of patient. There was no systematic error on patient setup system. Since OBI confirms the anatomical location, when focus is located on the skin, it is more precise to use skin marker to setup. When compared with 3D-3D conformation, although 2D-2D conformation can't find out the rolling error, it has lesser radiation exposure and shorter setup confirmation time. Therefore, on actual clinic, 2D-2D conformation is more appropriate.

  • In this paper, we propose a protocol compression scheme for enhancing the performance of call processing of PTT(Push-to-Talk) which is one of the important services in IMS(IP Multimedia Subsystem), a next generation integrated wired/wireless packet communication network. To service the PTT on an IMS network, it should use the same call setup procedure as legacy Mobile and TRS(Trunked Radio System) networks and have a fast call setup time and enough communication bandwidth because a number of terminals should be able to exchange same data in real time. The proposed A+SigComp scheme reduces the initial call setup delay of SIP by about 10%, which is used by PTT service for call setup. In addition, the A+ROHC scheme is proposed to compress the header of RTP packets transferred during PTT voice transmission and, as a result, about 5% of increase in communication efficiency is observed.

  • In this paper, the call setup performance of the CSCF(Call Session Control function) that manages the session control in providing the IMS(IP Multimedia subsystem)-based multimedia service in the BcN(Broadband convergence Network) is analyzed. While the performance related with the call/session of the SIP-Based voice service is analysed, the study for the call recessing performance of the IMS-based multimedia service is insufficient. In this paper, as, the processing capacity and subscriber number of CSCF were changed, the call setup delay time according to the session setup procedure of IMS was measured using the M/M/1 queuing model and OPNET simulation. The experimental results show that the sudden increased delay showed up in case the session establishment requirement ratio of total users over 13% of the CSCF processing capacity. Therefore, the user number and capacity of CSCF suitable for the session establishment delay threshold can be calculated or estimated.

  • Purpose: To evaluate the reproducibility of image-guided radiotherapy using ultrasonography which is non-invasive, without radiation exposure for prostate cancer patients. Materials and Methods: We analyzed the setup variation of 1,105 images for 26 prostate cancer patients and the mean, standard deviation and 3D-error in AP, RL and SI directions. Setup variations were classified 0-1 mm, 1-3 mm, 3-5 mm, 5 mm and more. Results: The mean and standard deviation of setup variation in AP, RL and SI directions was $1.87{\pm}1.36mm$, $1.73{\pm}1.22mm$ and $2.01{\pm}1.40mm$. The 3D-error in AP, RL and SI directions was $3.63{\pm}1.63mm$. The frequency of setup variation in AP direction was 29 % in the range from 0 mm to 1 mm, 50.2 % in the range from 1 mm to 3 mm, 19.6 % in the range from 3 mm to 5 mm and 1.3 % in the range of 5 mm or more. In RL direction, the frequency was 31.3 % in the range from 0 mm to 1 mm, 52.5 % in the range from 1 mm to 3 mm, 15.8 % in the range from 3 mm to 5 mm and 0.5 % in the range of 5 mm or more. SI direction, the frequency of errors in the range from 0 mm to 1 mm was 26.3 %, 50.2 % in the range from 1 mm to 3 mm, 22.4 % in the range from 3 mm to 5 mm, and 1.1 % in the range of 5 mm or more. Conclusion: The setup error was highest in the SI direction of $2.01{\pm}1.40mm$. The frequency in each direction was the highest in more than 50 % in the range from 1 mm to 3 mm. $Clarity^{TM}$ Auto scan is possible to monitoring the motion of the prostate during the treatment and to repositioning the patient. In conclusion real-time image-guided radiotherapy using ultrasonography will be increase the reproducibility of radiation therapy.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study the effects of container size with multi-stage and multi-item on average inventory and customer service level in Kanban systems. We use the different distributions of demand and interarrival time for each item to show that we had better to change the container size depending on different type of item for this simulation study. The small lot size can be used for container size of a single item if there is no setup time. The container size should be identical with average order size as setup time increases. The fill rate increases if the container size is large with multi-item. However, it is difficult to establish the effective container size because the effects of the container size on the order queue time are not clear. It is suitable to use the average order size as the container size for each item if the variance of demand and interarrival time of each item is relatively small. It is effective to sue the average container size if the variance of them is relatively large.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient methodology to fix timing violation in ECO step for ASIC process. Timing violation can occur from various reasons and the major cause is inconsistent correlation between EDA tools. The most frequent violation is setup time and hold time violation. First, we analyzed the reason of violation creation, and then proposed the adjusting method for overcome them. Each violation can be fixed by increasing data required time or decreasing data arrival time. We proposed the detailed technique on a case basis. It is difficult to execute these methods by routine of algorithm or principle. Therefore ASIC engineer needs to apply these technique to violation as conditions of the implemented design.

  • Radiotherapy of rectal cancer requires a stabilized image but the movement of patients is almost unavoidable in radiotherapy. In this study, the setup error using the radiation treatment technique was compared according to the loading time and BMI(Body Mass Index) for 14 patients with rectal cancer. In addition, the variation of the dose by the average setup error was compared. Therefore, the technique of a selective standard was established. As a result, 3DCRT(3-Dimensional Radiation Therapy) and VMAT(Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy) showed a similar time and error. In comparison, IMRT(Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy) increased the time two fold and the error four fold. In BMI, a more pyknic patient showed a larger error for all techniques. Regarding the dose, IMRT and VMAT increased much more than 3DCRT in the average error at the small bowel. Therefore, 3DCRT of the short time will be applied to pyknic rectal cancer. Moreover, VMAT selects than IMRT in the overexposure of the small bowel.

  • In cognitive radio networks, secondary users are allowed to utilize the channels currently not occupied by primary users opportunistically. Secondary users can communicate with each other using the commonly available channels (common channels) which may change dynamically based on the activity of the primary users. Even though many studies have dealt with cognitive radio behaviors, the detailed procedures for common channel configuration have not been paid much attention. In this paper, the fast and reliable dynamic common channel setup and reconstruction method for the point-to-point communications in military cognitive radio networks is proposed. The detailed time parameters are considered for common channel setup and reconstruction, such as the packet exchange time, channel request waiting time, and rendezvous time. Through numerical analyses, the delay and throughput performance of the proposed method is derived and evaluated.
