Concrete guide rail and median barrier are an attached RC member, however they are vulnerable to cracking due to slip form construction and large surface of member. In this study, causes and pattern of cracking are analyzed through assessment and NDT (Non-Destructive Technique) evaluation for concrete guide rail and median barrier on highway structure. For this work, analysis on drying shrinkage and hydration heat are performed considering installation period, and plastic shrinkage is also analyzed considering their environmental conditions. From the evaluation, plastic settlement around steel location, drying/ plastic shrinkage, and aggregate segregation are inferred to be the main causes of cracking in the structures. The crack causes and patterns are schematized and techniques of crack-control are suggested. Furthermore concrete guide rail/ median barrier in the bridge on the sea are vulnerable to cracking at early age so that special attentions should be paid at the stages of material selection and construction.
Since earlier in 1947 the writer had been devoting part of his time to study alluvial fans in Korea based on his own interest in geomorphology. However, it was in 1958 when a new geography department was set up and the Research Center of National Lands was established in the university of Kyung Hee, the writer started scientific investigation for alluvial fans. The Following alluvial fans have been studied by the writer: those of Mt. Kwanak and Mt. Chungge in 1947; those of Pulkuksa in 1948; those of Suhnamsa, Suh Myun, Pusan in 1950; those of Shindonae, Mt. Kerrong, in summer of 1958; those of Hwaomsa, Kure and Yongsan Myun, Changhung, in winter of 1958. The article is the comparative study of the above mentioned alluvial fans including Suhkwangsa Fan, Chugaryng Rift Valley. Of course this is not the study covering all af alluvial fans in Korea. Within the limits of his surbey, the writer has com to a conclusion which may be helpful for the Korean alluvial fm study. 1. Korean alluvial fans are generally found in rift valleys or basins. 2. They are formed in places of below 220-meter contour line. 3. The slope from fna apex to river valley is 20-40 degree. The slope of fan surface is 5-20 degree, but most of them under 16 degree. A sudden change of slope is taken place or the fan apex and fan center. 4. Hills (100-200m) are developed on the surfaces of alluvial fans. 5. Most of rivers in alluvial fans are geyser rivers. 6. The depth of well : from ground surface to the well water surface is 4-8 m; water depth is 1-2m. 7. Land utilization; cultivated land 30%: non cultivatedland 70%. The area occupied by upland fields is twice of paddy field area. 8. Settlement : agglomerated settlement is developed on the top or the end of fan and surrounded by windbreakers. 9. Farming pattern at the top of fan fields are rectangular and parallel to flumes but at the center of fan, they are irregular and perpendicular to flumes.

In this study, the stability of the room-and-pillar underground method was investigated using numerical analysis method. In-situ geotechnical investigation was conducted, and a supporting pattern was selected based on the geotechnical investigation data. For the supporting pattern, Type-1, 2, 3 were selected for each ground condition. A 3D numerical analysis model was developed for effective simulation as the room-and-pillar underground method consist of a pillar and room. As a review of numerical analysis, it was confirmed that the crown settlement, convergence, shotcrete and rock bolt were all stable in all supporting patterns. As a result of the analysis by the construction stage, it was confirmed that excessive stress was generated in the room when the construction stage of forming pillar. So, precise construction is required during the actual construction stage of the pillar formation.

The purpose of this study is to investigate appropriate environmental factors when domestic waste is decomposed as aerobic digestion. So stabilization degree was measured after the waste is mixed as certain rates and water content was controlled by 55% and 60%. Variation of VS showed food waste in reactors of number 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 was decomposed fully except reactor of number 6. Decomposition degree of VS in reactors of number 1, 2, 3 and 4 was not different high because Vinyl and plastic inserted played role bulking agent in reactor number 1, 2, 3 and 4. In reactors, maximum temperature indicated $57{\sim}59^{\circ}C$ and temperatures in reactors 1, 2, 3 and 4 were higher and remained longer than in reactor 5 and 6 for 2~4 days. Variation of $CO_2$ was similar to that of VS. The reduction rate of water content was low because moisture generated by oxidation fever of microorganism did not evaporated well. pH was low in the beginning of the reaction however, as time passed, it increased slightly and remained regular pattern. EC and C/N showed the same pattern as pH. Settlement and weight reduction rates were similar to the factors above. Reactor 1, 2, 3, and 4 showed higher settlement and weight reduction rate than reactor 5 and 6.
The purpose of this study is to understand the dissipation pattern of excess pore pressure after liquefaction and to estimate the variation in permeability during shaking load, which should be known for settlement predictions of the ground undergoing liquefaction. In this study, 1-g shaking table tests were carried out for 5 different kinds of sands, all of which had high liquefaction potentials. During the tests excess pore pressure at various depths, and surface settlements were measured. The measured dissipation curve of the excess pore pressure after liquefaction was linearly simulated using the solidification theory, and from the analysis of the slopes of linearly simulated curves, the correlation between dissipation velocity and the gradation characteristics was obtained. By substituting this correlation and the measured settlement to the dissipation velocity equation recommended in solidification theory, the permeability during dissipation was calculated, which was used for estimating the permeability variation during shaking load. The dissipation velocity of excess pore pressure after liquefaction had a linear correlation with the effective grain size divided by the coefficient of uniformity. The permeability during dissipation and liquefaction increased by 1.1∼2.8 times and 1.4∼5 times compared to the initial permeability of the original ground, respectively. And the amount of increase became greater as the effective grain size of the test sand increased and the coefficient of uniformity decreased.

In order to obtain the basic information for the optimal settlement planning in the reclaimed area, various existing settlement conditions on reclaimed farming village were analysed through a case study of in-and-round farming villages in Deuk Ryang Reclaimed Area. By comparison study between in-and-around villages, the allocation policy of farming settlement in the samll and medium scale area was proposed. The results obtained in this study were as follows ; 1.The population structure of the inner village(Ansim village) had become worse than the around village during 1976~1981 period from the viewpoint of total and female emigration ratios. Especially, the originally unbalanced sex ratio of Ansim village had worsen to the unacceptable ratio of 1.5 : 1(male : female). Therefore, the structural stability of the population should be carefully improved in the newly reclaimed farming villages by the systematic long-term controlling machanism.2.The farming status of Ansim village was much lower than the around villages viewing of the cultivated acreage and agricultural machinery stock Therefore, the continuous and intensive governmental support different from the existing farming area should be required for the settling of reclaimed farming. 3. The regularity of the village site as a planned village, though pursed in the first phase of village construction, had been severely disturbed inflowing of squatters. Recently, there are increasing vaccant houses in the village, and the level of living amenities and personal mobility of Ansim village are much lower than the around village. So, now, the physical structure of the village should be improved to the level of village reconstruction or new village construction. 4. The cultivated area of Ansim village leans to the south side which would be unfavoured by the farmers of the around villages, while its distributing pattern should be concentric around the village site. This phenomenon disturbs the central fuction of the planned farming village. In this respect, role assignment, relationship and balance of competence in farming activities should be planned between in-and-around villages in the reclaimed area from the initial stage. 5. Putting together the above results in this study, the farming and living conditions of Ansim village threaten its existence as a planned new farming village in the reclaimed area. And, so, the full scale reconstruction of village structure, including moving to the new site, should be designed as soon as possible. Although further many studies should be carried out, it would be sure that the new village planning should be reconsidered in the small and-medium scale reclamation works.

The purpose of this paper is to present the manufacturing defect and damage pattern of a 3 phase 22.9/3.3kV oil immersed transformer, as well as to present an objective basis for the prevention of a similar accident and to secure data for the settlement of PL related disputes. It was found that in order to prevent the occurrence of accidents to transformers, insulating oil analysis, thermal image measurement, and corona discharge diagnosis, etc., were performed by establishing relevant regulation. The result of analysis performed on the external appearance of a transformer to which an accident occurred, the internal insulation resistance and protection system, etc., showed that most of the analysis items were judged to be acceptable. However, it was found that the insulation characteristics between the primary winding and the enclosure, those between the ground and the secondary winding, and those between the primary and secondary windings were inappropriate due to an insulating oil leak caused by damage to the pressure relief valve. From the analysis of the acidity values measured over the past 5 years, it is thought that an increase in carbon dioxide (CO2) caused an increase in the temperature inside the transformer and the increase in the ethylene gas increased the possibility of ignition. Even though 17 years have passed since the transformer was installed, it was found that the system's design, manufacture, maintenance and management have been performed well and the insulating paper was in good condition, and that there was no trace of public access or vandalism. However, in the case of transformers to which accidents have occurred, a melted area between the upper and the intermediate bobbins of the W-phase secondary winding as well as between its intermediate and lower bobbins. It can be seen that a V-pattern was formed at the carbonized area of the transformer and that the depth of the carbonization is deeper at the upper side than the lower side. In addition, it was found that physical bending and deformation occurred inside the secondary winding due to non-uniform pressure while performing transformer winding work. Therefore, since it is obvious that the accident occurred due to a manufacturing defect (winding work defect), it is thought that the manufacturer of the transformer is responsible for the accident and that it is lawful for the manufacture to investigate and prove the concrete cause of the accident according to the Product Liability Law (PLL).
This study was conducted to understand the settlement process of Ascotis selenaria larvae into citrus orchards with respect to oviposition site and analysis of the spatial distribution pattern of the larvae. A. selenaria eggs were not found on citrus trees in field and green house, but not on citrus trees in the field. A. selenaria larvae showed a significant clump distribution in the greenhouse. In the open citrus field, the index of dispersion was around 1.0 in most cases, with a weak clumping degree. However, the d-statistic was between -1.96 and 1.96, indicating a statistically significant random distribution. In addition, the Green's index (a clumping index) was very low in all cases, even though the clump distribution was accepted. for most samples, the probability distribution of larval frequency in the field satisfied the probability distribution functions of Poisson (random pattern) and the negative binomial (clump pattern) distribution. In addition, the temporal distribution of the larvae in the open field showed a pattern which was formed by colonizers from outside oviposition sites. Further, the difference in larval spatial distribution between field and greenhouse orchards was discussed.

This study is considered about the Taekwondo(跆拳道) uniform classified by period and analyzed the current Taekwondo uniform. And founded on this contents, new designs of uniform, that a functional side are considered and can symb이ize the identity of Taekwondo, are presented through this study. Ancient times to the present time, the Taekwondo uniform classified into three types according to 'Period of putting on our nation's costume'(three kingdoms${\sim}$Joseon(朝鮮) times), 'Period of confusion on uniform'(Japan's colonial rule of Korea${\sim}$-the early 1970s), 'Period of the settlement on official uniform'(the late 1970s-the present time). And besides, the shape of our nation's costume in ancient times is succeeded until Joseon times and this basic style becomes the outset on the current Taekwondo uniform. The designed uniforms are connoted the notion of the aesthetic appreciation in Korean traditional costume, that is, a symbolic, dignified, moderate appreciation with the consideration of a functional side for Taekwondo. And the contents on the presented designs are classified into 'shape, pattern, color'. First, these designs that are adapted the shape of Baji(바지) Jeogori(저고리)-belt, which have symbolized our nation's costume, and the shape of Bacja(배자) had used in Joseon times, are connoted a 'traditional appreciation with functional side'. Second, these designs, which are adapted the patterns of the active image(a bugbear, flying horse, tiger for embroidered patches, Taegeuk(太極)) in a modern style, express a 'symbolic, dignified appreciation'. Third, these designs are well-matched a black and white color with multicolored stripes(saekddong, 색동), and its ones are connoted a 'moderate and symbolic appreciation'.

Busan Metropolitan City government has been implementing the local Bus Quasi-Public Operating policy since 2007. As a result of the policy, financial burden to cover financial deficit has become a big social issue. For successful settlement of the policy, the government should be able to gradually cut off the financial support for the deficit by continuously increasing the bus demand, which can be accomplished by providing more convenient bus services. The weather conditions that affect the public transportation demand include rain, fog and snow. They affect the mode choice for public transportation use, which in turn results in decrease in bus demand. In short, the adverse weather conditions result in significant profit loss of bus transportation, and consequently it financially burdens the City of Busan. In this research, the pattern of travelers' use of transportation modes given various weather conditions was analyzed. In addition, the reasons why people transfer from one to other transportation modes were analyzed by conducting a field survey, and policy implications on desirable public transportation facilities and transfer system were discussed.
