PREDICTION OF SEVERE ACCIDENT OCCURRENCE TIME USING SUPPORT VECTOR MACHINES

  • If a transient occurs in a nuclear power plant (NPP), operators will try to protect the NPP by estimating the kind of abnormality and mitigating it based on recommended procedures. Similarly, operators take actions based on severe accident management guidelines when there is the possibility of a severe accident occurrence in an NPP. In any such situation, information about the occurrence time of severe accident-related events can be very important to operators to set up severe accident management strategies. Therefore, support systems that can quickly provide this kind of information will be very useful when operators try to manage severe accidents. In this research, the occurrence times of several events that could happen during a severe accident were predicted using support vector machines with short time variations of plant status variables inputs. For the preliminary step, the break location and size of a loss of coolant accident (LOCA) were identified. Training and testing data sets were obtained using the MAAP5 code. The results show that the proposed algorithm can correctly classify the break location of the LOCA and can estimate the break size of the LOCA very accurately. In addition, the occurrence times of severe accident major events were predicted under various severe accident paths, with reasonable error. With these results, it is expected that it will be possible to apply the proposed algorithm to real NPPs because the algorithm uses only the early phase data after the reactor SCRAM, which can be obtained accurately for accident simulations.

  • 비행 중 날개 변형에 의해 바뀐 빔 방향을 보상하기 위한 X대역 위상 배열 안테나 모듈을 설계 및 제작하였다. 위상 배열 안테나 모듈은 배열 안테나, 전력분배기, 위상변위기 및 제어회로로 구성된다. 최적의 부품 선택을 위해 날개 변형 및 위상변위기의 위상 오차에 의한 방사 패턴의 변화를 시뮬레이션하였다. 제작된 위상 배열 안테나 모듈은 9.375 GHz에서 5.84 dBi의 이득, 13.6 dB의 반사손실, 10.6 %의 대역폭을 얻었다. 주빔 방향 보상 성능을 확인하기 위해 측정 장치를 구축하였다. 측정을 통해 굽힘 변형이 9 %일 때 빔 보상이 정확히 이루어짐을 확인하였다.

Comparison of Vertical and Horizontal Eye Movement Times in the Selection of Visual Targets by an Eye Input Device

  • Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate how well eye movement times in visual target selection tasks by an eye input device follows the typical Fitts' Law and to compare vertical and horizontal eye movement times. Background: Typically manual pointing provides excellent fit to the Fitts' Law model. However, when an eye input device is used for the visual target selection tasks, there were some debates on whether the eye movement times in can be described by the Fitts' Law. More empirical studies should be added to resolve these debates. This study is an empirical study for resolving this debate. On the other hand, many researchers reported the direction of movement in typical manual pointing has some effects on the movement times. The other question in this study is whether the direction of eye movement also affects the eye movement times. Method: A cursor movement times in visual target selection tasks by both input devices were collected. The layout of visual targets was set up by two types. Cursor starting position for vertical movement times were in the top of the monitor and visual targets were located in the bottom, while cursor starting positions for horizontal movement times were in the right of the monitor and visual targets were located in the left. Results: Although eye movement time was described by the Fitts' Law, the error rate was high and correlation was relatively low ($R^2=0.80$ for horizontal movements and $R^2=0.66$ for vertical movements), compared to those of manual movement. According to the movement direction, manual movement times were not significantly different, but eye movement times were significantly different. Conclusion: Eye movement times in the selection of visual targets by an eye-gaze input device could be described and predicted by the Fitts' Law. Eye movement times were significantly different according to the direction of eye movement. Application: The results of this study might help to understand eye movement times in visual target selection tasks by the eye input devices.

접착 테이프 박리거동에 미치는 외부효과에 관한 연구 (A Study on External Effects on Peeling-off Behavior of Adhesive Tape)

  • 접착용 테이프 박리거동에 미치는 외부효과를 알아보고, 이를 설명하는 준강체 실린더 체인(semi-rigid body cylinder chain) 모델을 제안하였다. 먼저 평면으로부터 테이프를 떼어낼 때, 테이프의 거동을 정성적으로 파악하고, 이를 토대로 준강체 실린더 체인 모형을 도식화하였다. 그 다음 테이프를 떼어내는 힘에 미치는 여러 요소들(온도, 표면거칠기, 떼어내는 속도, 각도 의존성, 테이프 폭 등)의 효과와 이들의 민감도를 분석하여 동일한 실험 기준조건을 설정하고, 이 조건에서 평면으로부터 테이프를 떼어내는 힘(벡터)의 각도 의존성을 $10^{\circ}$ 간격으로 측정하였다. 실험결과는 본 연구에서 확립한 모형이론과 실험오차범위 내에서 잘 일치하였고, 다른 요소들의 효과는 현상론적 입장에서 정성적으로 잘 설명되었다. 이러한 이유로, 본 결과는 PSA 테이프의 접착력을 시험 평가하는 모델로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

22.9 kV-y 배전선로의 전압계측방법 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of Voltage Measuring Method of 22.9 kV-y Distribution Lines)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 22.9 kV-y 특별고압 배전선로상에서 가스절연개폐기를 이용한 전압측정장치의 개발에 있다. 본 논문에서 제안한 전압측정장치는 일종의 광대역 용량성 분압기로, 가스개폐기의 절연붓싱에 설치한 검출전극, 임피던스 정합회로 및 전압버퍼로 구성되며, 기설의 가스절연개폐기에 구조 변경 없이 설치될 수 있다. 제작된 전압측정장치는 교정과 적용성 평가를 위하여 25.8 kV, 400 A 가스절연개폐기에 설치되었으며, 5 ns의 상승시간을 갖는 직각파 발생기로 주파수 응답특성을 조사하였다. 실험결과로부터 본 전압측정장치의 주파수 대역은 1.35 Hz에서 약 13 MHz이었으며, 60 Hz 상용주파수 전압에서 분압비 오차는 0.2% 이하였다. 또한 상용주파수 전압과 비진동성 충격전압에 대한 분압비와의 편차는 0.7% 이하로 나타났다.

3차원 계측시스템을 이용한 개더스커트 형상 분석 (Analysis of the Shape of Gathered Skirts using a Three-Dimensional Measurement System)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the shape of gathered skirts using a three-dimensional measurement system. And in this experiment, I try to accumulate three-dimensional data of wearing model and to figure out analyzing method made by shape of clothes. The experimental design consists of two factorial designs. I set up three different kinds of fabrics, ratio of gathers. Therefore nine samples were made. The instrument and tools for three-dimensional measurement was whole body 3D scanner. Analysis program used in experiment is RapidForm 2004 PP1 and Pattern Design 2000. Data analysis utilizes SPSS WIN 10.0 Package. T-test to effect an inspection of evidence, there was difference about measurement times. One-way ANOVA to analysis effect of gather made by gathering conditions. The following results were obtained; 1. As a result of inspecting an error several times using a three-dimension measurement system, convinced data was obtained. 2. At front, distribution of gap amount was larger than back. And as ratio of gathers increased, distribution of gap amount showed regularly. 3. After analyzing horizontal sectional figure of skirts, as a height of skirt changed from waist to the bottom of skirts, the results showed as follows. While section width, section thickness, node width, node depth increased, node count decreased. 4. With the horizontal section levels of gather skirt, the silhouette on middle hip section was similar with the silhouette of body line. And as ratio of gathers around hip section increased, nodes showed regularly. At the bottom of skirts showed different nodes by different gathering condition.

  • The automatic control system in the greenhouse have to be developed to the direction of considering various factors the variables such as condition of the cultivation and greenhouse, the properties and types of products. Therefore, it is more important to set up variables appropriately than the problems of automatic control system itself, and the automatic control system which satisfy these problems should be simplified in the aspect of operation. In addition, even the individual automations are not perfect yet, so more studies are required for the development of comprehensive automatic system in korea. This study was carried out to automatize environment control systems for greenhouse, especially from most intensive labor requiring parts such as watering, irrigating liquefied fertilizer, spraying chemicals, mixing and ventilation system, etc. The results are summarized as follows. 1. Control type tensiometer was expected to be desirable in the automation of watering system, therefore, a new tensiometer was designed and developed through this study. 2. The chemical spraying system developed through this study was found to be excellent in the aspect of operation. 3. When pulse type water discharge meter was used in the mixing of liquefied fertilizer and chemical solution, the error of mixing were range $\pm$0.1~0.15%. 4. The water level switch of electrod type used for controlling water level was found to be affective in both control performance and operation cost. 5. The water and level control system can be omitted if each tank size are standardized in accordance with greenhouse size, therefore, the installation cost might be significantly reduced. 6. The developed general controller was excellent in hardware parts, but still remained to be improved in software parts.

반도체소자를 이용한 관전압계의 개발 (The development of tube voltage meter using the semiconductor)

  • 검출능력이 우수하고 가격이 저렴하며 소형으로 제작할 수 있는 반도체검출기 중에서도 광전소지인 포토다이오드를 이용하였는데 이 소자는 특정표면이 입사광에 대하여 반응을 나타내는 소자인데 광 강도가 증가함에 따라 저항이 감소하는 특성을 이용하여 방사선 검출기를 제작하였다. 제작된 측정기는 접속식 측정기에 의해 검사치를 측정하여 기준치를 정하고 기존의 비접속형 측정기를 이용하여 제작된 비접속형 측정기와 정확성을 비교 검토하였다. 비교 결과 3가지 측정기의 모든 측정치가 기준치 범위에 속하였으며 정밀도를 분석하기 위하여 백분율 평균오차의 평균치를 구하였는데 기준측정기의 백분율평균오차의 평균치가 -0.02이고 비교측정기가 -0.22, 제작한 측정기가 0.17이었다.

Control Variables of Remote Joint Analysis Realization on the M2M Case

  • New trend called ubiquitous leads the recent business by standardization and integration. It should be the main issue how to guarantee the integration and accountability on each business, especially in mission critical system which is mainly supported by M2M (Machine to Machine) control mechanism. This study is from the analysis of digital forensics case study that is from the M2M Sensing Control Mechanism problem of the "Imjin River" case in 2009, where a group of family is swept away to death by water due to M2M control error. The ubiquitous surroundings bring the changes in the field of criminal investigation to real time controls such as M2M systems. The needs of digital forensics on M2M control are increasing on every crime scene but we suffer from the lack of control metrics to get this done efficiently. The court asks for more accurately analyzed results accounting high quality product development design. Investigators in the crime scene need real-time analysis against the crime caused by poor quality of mission critical systems. It seems to be every need of Real-Time-Enterprise, so called ubiquitous society on the case. We try to find the efficiency and productivity in discovering non-functional design defects in M2M convergence products focusing on three metrics in study model with quick implementation. Digital forensics system in present status depends on know-how of each investigator and is hard to expect professional analysis on every field. This study set up a hypothesis "Co-working of professional investigators on each field will qualify Performance and Integrity" especially in mission critical system such as M2M and suggests "Online co-work analysis model" to efficiently detect and prevent mission critical errors in advance. At the conclusion, this study proved the statistical research that was surveyed by digital forensics specialists around M2M crime scene cases with quick implementation of dash board.

한-중-일 수출입의 대체·보완성에 관한 실증분석 (Empirical Analysis on the Substitutability or Complementary Nature of Export and Import among Korea, China, and Japan)

  • 한-중-일 3국간 무역형태는 각국의 산업구조 변화를 반영하여 무역수지가 고착화되고 또한 상호간 수출입 품목의 우선순위도 조정되어 왔다. 따라서 이와 같은 무역환경을 감안하여 새로운 형태의 무역정책을 수립 및 시행하는 것이 중요한 경제현안으로 부상하게 되었다. 본 연구는 공적분추정과 오차수정모형을 활용하여 한국, 중국, 및 일본간 수출입의 대체 보완성을 실증적으로 분석하려는 시도이다. 실증분석결과에 의하면 한-중-일 3국간 수출입의 경우 단기적으로는 보완관계를 유지하면서 상호간의 수출증대에 기여하는 측면이 있지만, 장기적으로는 한-중-일 3국 모두 대체관계를 형성하고 있어서 상호간의 수출을 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 향후 우리나라 무역정책의 경우 단기적으로는 시장에 의존하는 수출입 정책을 채택해도 무리가 없겠지만 장기적으로는 중국이나 일본과의 무역에서 대체관계에 따른 수출 감소에 대비할 수 있는 정책을 수행하여야 할 것이다. 즉, 한-중-일 3국간 무역에서 단기적으로는 기존의 산업구조를 바탕으로 시장에 영향을 미치는 환율정책이나 무역정책을 중심으로 운용해도 무리가 없겠지만 중장기적으로 무역구조에 영향을 미치는 산업구조의 개편이나 한-중-일 3국간 FTA 체결 등은 대체관계를 고려해서 추진하여야 할 것이다.
