  • The concept of Cloud Service Brokerage (CSB) has been introduced as a result of the expansion of the cloud-computing paradigm. Cloud services that provide similar functionality are registered with a CSB. A CSB intermediates cloud services between cloud users and providers. However, there are differences in the price and performance offered by each of the cloud providers. Thus, cloud users have difficulty in finding suitable services to use. Therefore, a CSB is required in order to provide an approach for cloud services to fulfill the requirements of cloud users. In this paper, we propose a virtual cloud bank architecture that includes both a Service Analysis Model (SAM) that can be used to specify and analyze various cloud services and a requirement analysis method that can be used to collect and analyze the cloud user requirements. The VCB architecture that is herein proposed can be used as a reference architecture to provide user-centric cloud services.

  • Residual materials such as veterinary drugs, environmental contaminants, and pesticides are affecting food safety. High resolution techniques and quality controls are needed to analyze these materials from part per million to part per trillion quantities in food. In order to achieve quality results, standardized methods and techniques are required. Our laboratories were prepared to obtain a certificate of accreditation for ISO/IEC 17025 in the analytical criteria of animal drugs, dioxins, pesticides, and heavy metals. ISO together with IEC has built a strategic partnership with the World Trade Organization with the common goal of promoting a free and fair global trading system. ISO collaborates with the United Nations Organization and its specialized agencies and commissions, particularly those involved in the harmonization of regulations and public policies including the World Health Organization and CODEX Alimentarius for food safety measurement, management and traceability. Our goal was to have high quality analysts, proper analytical methods, good laboratory facilities, and safety systems within guidelines of ISO/IEC 17025. All staff members took requirement exams. We applied proficiency tests in the analysis of veterinary drugs (nitrofuran metabolites, sulfonamide and tetracyclines), dioxins, organophosphorus pesticides, and heavy metals (Cd, Pb, As) to the Food Analysis Performance Assessment Scheme (FAPAS) at Central Science Laboratory, Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), England. The results were very satisfactory. All documents were prepared, including system management, laboratory management, standard operational procedures for testing, reporting, and more. The criteria encompassed the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:1999. Finally, the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS) accredited our testing laboratories in accordance with the provisions of Article 23 of the National Standards Act. The accreditation will give us the benefit of becoming a regional reference laboratory in Asia.

  • The Processes of a new product design based on ergonomics and customer satisfaction have been studied for years. However, few attempts have been made to systematically include ergonomic design concept to communication service design. Service design can be regarded as a specific type of product design in a way that the processes of product design can also be employed to those of service design. However, a few difficulties may often arise in doing so. First, services have no explicit tangible features, which implies that a customer may not properly appraise contents, quality and functionality of newly designed services with a prototype before launching into market. Second, customer demands on services change more rapidly according to advances in related technology. In the study, we examined earlier studies of product design process and identified that a service design process must alos conform ergonomic methodology, extracting innovative values for creativitybased design and subsequently evaluate its level of customer satisfaction. In this study, we proposed a customer-centered ergonomic design process for communication services. This process includes a hierarchical structure of service requirement identification, customer-centered trend analysis, service scenario development and service evaluation. To prove the practicality of the design process, a case study of communication service design was conducted according to the procedure that follows.

  • The many researches on context-aware service based on the combination of semantic technology and IoT environment are being actively done. However, the previous study exploiting ontology has limitations not to accommodate the service requirement changes due to ontology prebuilt by specific service scenario. Although the concept of cross vertical ontology has emerged in order to overcome the limitation, it has other limitations that need additional components composing service environment for expressing context information and can't represent state information of environment elements. To cope with these limitations, we propose SISO (Semantic-based IoT Service Ontology) that can represent the states of environmental element without the need for additional context-information element. To verify SISO's characteristics, we select the service scenario and present applied results. The qualitative analysis comparing with the previous study is also presented by the applied results of service scenario.

  • To integrate heterogeneous distributed systems, there exist various researches and developments for the purpose of its adoption into enterprise environment. However, when web service technologies are applied, it is difficult to adopt directly existing software system development methodologies, because of the peculiar architecture of web services, such as service provider, service requester, and service repository. M4WSD(Method for Wes Services Development) is a web service development process model and involves procedures and guidelines to develop web services based on a Use Case model that is elicited from a business domain in requirement analysis. In this paper, we focus on how to determine key realization decisions for each service. The assessment guidelines help you to structure the problem of determining implementation strategy.

  • As ubiquitous computing technology is proliferating, a wider range of u-services applying ubiquitous computing technology has been implemented and some of the u-services have been actively considered for commercialization. Accordingly, establishing corresponding business models based on u-services also have been increased. However, structured methodologies to build u-service business models are still in its very early age. Moreover, since most of the legacy business model formulation and analysis methodologies have stressed on conventional or digital services, not u-services. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to propose a structured methodology of formulating and analyzing business models for u-services. An illustrative example is described to show the feasibility of the proposed methodology. To do so, Business Model Diagram (BMD), which adopts model components for u-services, is newly developed.

  • The analysis of the tourist industry in relation to the general industries is of high use as a means to measure an economic effectiveness as the interest in the policy of service industry increases. From the Input-Output Tables of both 2007 and 2008, Inverse Matrix Coefficients, Imports Requirement Coefficients, and Value Added Requirement Coefficients have been derived. As a result of analysis, the main indexes of the industry-related analysis have almost no differences as compared with those of the 1980s. In spite of the reduction in the scope of the tourist industry in this paper, it is estimated that the reason why the above-mentioned result has been derived is that the influence of today's tourist industry grows bigger than that of the past. In the future studies, the agreement on the classification of tourist industry is requested. In addition, all kinds of calculations have to be derived in general, and the general parts of the tourist industry have to be analyzed in details.
