효율적인 멀티캐스트 라우팅을 위한 경로 지정 방법 (A Shared-Route Decision Algorithm for Efficient Multicast Routing)

  • The shared-route decision algorithms in multicasting communications networks to provide the internet-based services such as IPTV, remote education/health, and internet broadcasting are presented. The three main measures of maximum delay, average delay and estimated delay between each node and member are adopted. Under the Mesh network with the uniform random cost between each node, the algorithm's performance is compared to the optimal solution with the minimum cost by all enumeration. The simulation results show that the algorithm using the estimated delay outperforms the other two methods.

  • The goal of this paper is to consider a co-design approach between time delay compensation and the message scheduling for CAN-Based Networked Control Systems (NCS). First we propose a hybrid priority scheme for the message scheduling in order to improve the Quality of Service (QoS). Second we present the way to calculate the closed-loop communication time delay and then compensate this time delay using the pole placement design method in order to improve the Quality of Control (QoC). The final objective is the implementation of a co-design which is the combination of the compensation for communication time delays and the message scheduling in order to have a more efficient NCS design.

Multi-Collector Control for Workload Balancing in Wireless Sensor and Actuator Networks

  • The data gathering delay and the network lifetime are important indicators to measure the service quality of wireless sensor and actuator networks (WSANs). This study proposes a dynamically cluster head (CH) selection strategy and automatic scheduling scheme of collectors for prolonging the network lifetime and shorting data gathering delay in WSAN. First the monitoring region is equally divided into several subregions and each subregion dynamically selects a sensor node as CH. These can balance the energy consumption of sensor node thereby prolonging the network lifetime. Then a task allocation method based on genetic algorithm is proposed to uniformly assign tasks to actuators. Finally the trajectory of each actuator is optimized by ant colony optimization algorithm. Simulations are conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method and the results show that the method performs better to extend network lifetime while also reducing data delay.

  • 본 논문은 서비스 제어 시스템(Service Control Point : SCP) 서비스 교환 시스템(Service Switching Point: SSP) 그리고 지능형 정보제공 시스템(Intelligent Peripheral : IP)을 물리적 구성요소로 하는 차세대 지능망(Advanced Intelligent Network : AIN)에서 특수자원 제공을 담당하는 지능형 정보제공 시스템에서의 지연 시간에 관한 특성을 분석하였다 지능망 호가 지능형 정보제공 시스템으로 입력되는 시점부터 지능망 서비스가 처리되어 종료되는 시점까지의 시그널링 지연 및 자원 제공 점유시간을 각 구성 요소들이 연동되어서 운용되는 현장환경하에서 실측을 통해 분석하였다 종합정보통신ad 사용자부 (Integrated Serviced Digital Network User Part: ISUP) 프로토콜 기반에서의 호 설정 및 해제 시간을 지연 유형별로 분석하였으며 지능망 응용부(Intelligent Network Application Protocol : INAP) 프로토콜 기반에서의 자원 제공 점유시간을 차세대 지능망에서 제공하는 서비스별로 분석하였다.)

이동통신망에서의 핸드오버 수락 제어 방법 (A Handover Admission Control in Mobile Communication Networks)

  • 이동 멀티미디어 서비스의 서비스 연속성이 패킷 손실과 전송 지연에 영향 받기 때문에 효율적인 핸드오버 제어가 필수적이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 LTE-A 이동통신시스템에서 멀티미디어 서비스의 QoS를 보장하기 위한 핸드오버 수락 제어 방법을 제안한다. 이동 단말기 및 기지국의 상태 정보 변화에 따라 수락제어를 동적으로 제어하기 위하여 4 종류의 ISHO를 지원하기 위한 각 모듈간의 연계 순서도를 기술하고, ISHO 시나리오가 고려된다. 시뮬레이션을 통하여 전송 지연과 패킷 손실률을 평가한다.

  • PURPOSES : The objective of this study is to find Percentile Speed($V_p$) for Appraisal of Road Section with Recurring Congestion. METHODS : Percentile Speed($V_p$) is determined by correlation analysis of CSI that proposed existing literature. and CSI(Consistency Service Index) is a index that subtract service fail frequency from 100 points, and service fail is defined as traffic situation is driving less than 80kph speed. In this study, We analyzed the highest correlation percentile speed associated with CSI. This speed is chosen as a delay decision speed. In order to verifying reliability, it performed a comparison with the previous method. RESULTS : As a result, 30 percentile speed($V_{30}$) was decided as index speed for judgement of recurring congestion section, and through comparison with existing methods, we demonstrated that 30 percentile speed can be useful for judgement of recurring congestion section. CONCLUSIONS : This method to Determine recurring congestion section using the percentile speed($V_{30}$) was proposed for the first time in this paper. This method can be applicated more quickly and easily than existing method for determining of recurring delay section.

A Novel Resource Allocation Algorithm in Multi-media Heterogeneous Cognitive OFDM System

  • An important issue of supporting multi-users with diverse quality-of-service (QoS) requirements over wireless networks is how to optimize the systematic scheduling by intelligently utilizing the available network resource while, at the same time, to meet each communication service QoS requirement. In this work, we study the problem of a variety of communication services over multi-media heterogeneous cognitive OFDM system. We first divide the communication services into two parts. Multimedia applications such as broadband voice transmission and real-time video streaming are very delay-sensitive (DS) and need guaranteed throughput. On the other side, services like file transmission and email service are relatively delay tolerant (DT) so varying-rate transmission is acceptable. Then, we formulate the scheduling as a convex optimization problem, and propose low complexity distributed solutions by jointly considering channel assignment, bit allocation, and power allocation. Unlike prior works that do not care computational complexity. Furthermore, we propose the FAASA (Fairness Assured Adaptive Sub-carrier Allocation) algorithm for both DS and DT users, which is a dynamic sub-carrier allocation algorithm in order to maximize throughput while taking into account fairness. We provide extensive simulation results which demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed schemes.

Packet-Level Scheduling for Implant Communications Using Forward Error Correction in an Erasure Correction Mode for Reliable U-Healthcare Service

  • In u-healthcare services based on wireless body sensor networks, reliable connection is very important as many types of information, including vital signals, are transmitted through the networks. The transmit power requirements are very stringent in the case of in-body networks for implant communication. Furthermore, the wireless link in an in-body environment has a high degree of path loss (e.g., the path loss exponent is around 6.2 for deep tissue). Because of such inherently bad settings of the communication nodes, a multi-hop network topology is preferred in order to meet the transmit power requirements and to increase the battery lifetime of sensor nodes. This will ensure that the live body of a patient receiving the healthcare service has a reduced level of specific absorption ratio (SAR) when exposed to long-lasting radiation. We propose an efficientmethod for delivering delay-intolerant data packets over multiple hops. We consider forward error correction (FEC) in an erasure correction mode and develop a mathematical formulation for packet-level scheduling of delay-intolerant FEC packets over multiple hops. The proposed method can be used as a simple guideline for applications to setting up a topology for a medical body sensor network of each individual patient, which is connected to a remote server for u-healthcare service applications.

Bandwidth Allocation Under Multi-Level Service Guarantees of Downlink in the VLC-OFDM System

  • In this paper, we explore a low-complex bandwidth allocation (BA) scheme with multi-level service guarantees in VLC-OFDM systems. Effective capacity theory, which evaluates wireless channel capacity from a novel view, is utilized to model the system capacity under delay QoS constraints of the link layer. Since intensity modulation of light is used in the system, problems caused by frequency selectivity can be neglected. Then, the BA problem can be formulated as an integer programming problem and it is further relaxed and transformed into a concave one. Lagrangian formulation is used to reformulate the concave problem. Considering the inefficiency of traditional gradient-based schemes and the demand for distributed implementation in local area networks, we localize the global parameters and propose a quasi-distributed quadratic allocation algorithm to provide two-level service guarantees, the first level is QoS oriented, and the second level is QoE oriented. Simulations have shown the efficient performance of the proposed algorithm. The users with more stringent QoS requirements require more subcarriers to guarantee their statistical delay QoS requirements. We also analyze the effect of subcarrier granularity on the aggregate effective capacity via simulations.

VANET을 위한 지연 최적화 적응적 멀티 채널 백오프 메카니즘 (Delay-Optimized Adaptive Multichannel Backoff Mechanism for VANET)

  • 본 논문에서는 VANET(: Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks)환경에서 비-안전 애플리케이션을 위한 낮은 지연을 제공하기 위해 AMBM(: Adaptive Multi-channel Backoff Machisum)-MAC 프로토콜을 제안한다. 제안된 프로토콜은 우선 순위가 다른 비-안전 패킷간의 처리량의 극대화를 위해 WSA(: WAVE Service Advertisement)의 CW(: C hannel window)를 동적으로 조정하여 비-안전 패킷의 서비스품질을 보장한다. 또한 SC(: Service Channel)를 위한 채널조정 및 타임슬롯예약을 하기 위해 많은시간을 할당하고 CW 및 최적 CCI(: CC Interval)를 동적으로 조정함으로서 IEEE 1609.9, C-MAC(: Coordinated multi-channel MAC), Q-VCI(QoS Variable CCH Interval) 프로토콜보다 노드가 증가할 때 전송지연이 감소됨을 보인다.
