In this paper, we review the basic concept of Evolvable Hardware first. And we examine genetic algorithm processor and hardware reconfiguration method and implementation. By considering complexity and performance of hardware at the same time, we design genetic algorithm processor using modularization and parallel processing method. And we design frame that has connection structure and logic block on FPGA, and embody reconfigurable hardware that do so that this frame may be reconstructed by RAM. Also we implemented ECANS that information processing system such as living creatures'brain using this hardware reconfiguration method. And we apply ECANS which is implemented using the concept of Evolvable Hardware to time-series prediction problem in order to verify the effectiveness.

This work investigated the characteristics of a packed-bed plasma reactor system and the performances of the plasma reactors connected in series or in parallel for the decomposition of ethylene. Before the discharge ignition, the effective capacitance of the ${\gamma}$-alumina packed-bed plasma reactor was larger than that of the reactor without any packing, but after the ignition the effective capacitance was similar to each other, regardless of the packing. The energy of electrons created by plasma depends mainly on the electric field intensity, and was not significantly affected by the gas composition in the range of 0~20% (v/v) oxygen (nitrogen : 80~100% (v/v)). Among the various reactive species generated by plasma, ground-state atomic oxygen and ozone are understood to be primarily involved in oxidation reactions, and as the electric field intensity increases, the amount of ground-state atomic oxygen relatively decreases while that of nitrogen atom increases. Even though there are many parameters affecting the performance of the plasma reactor such as a voltage, discharge power, gas flow rate and residence time, all parameters can be integrated into a single parameter, namely, specific input energy (SIE). It was experimentally confirmed that the performances of the plasma reactors connected in series or in parallel could be treated as a function of SIE alone, which simplifies the scale-up design procedure. Besides, the ethylene decomposition results can be predicted by the calculation using the rate constant expressed as a function of SIE.
The resistive type superconducting fault current limiter(SFCL) is a current limiter using the Quench mechanism of superconductors. When Quench occurs in superconductors, the resistance of superconductors increases abruptly. In order to increase SFCL capacity, current limiting elements were connected in series. If the Quench current of each element was different, voltage distribution was imbalanced. This imbalance could be removed by arrangement including series and parallel connection of elements. Based on this result, an SFCL of 1.8kV/50A was designed and experimented, expecially, in terms of increasing the voltage rating.

This research paper describes the development of battery charger with a variable output voltage capacity for charging the batteries used in electrical vehicles. The voltage and current accordingly is control via the buck converter that receives three phase current at primary side and fed to bridge rectifier which is comprised of full bridge converter and HFTR(High Frequency Transformer) for isolation and a square wave AC output. The transformer primary side is in series to divide certain charging current and the secondary side is comprised of six fix transformers so that they can generate certain amount of power and various output voltage through relay connection using 6 DC outputs. Moreover, all parallel connected full bridge serial resonant converter communicate together with upper(main) controller. The constructed structure is verified by conducting the test on PSIM as well as experimentally.

Shape Memory Alloys (SMAs) are new materials used in various fields of science and engineering, one of which is civil engineering. Owing to their distinguished capabilities such as super elasticity, energy dissipation, and tolerating cyclic deformations, these materials have been of interest to engineers. On the other hand, the connections of a steel structure are of paramount importance because of their vulnerabilities during an earthquake. Therefore, it is indispensable to find approaches to augment the efficiency and safety of the connection. This research investigates the behavior of steel connections with extended end plates equipped hybridly with 8 rows of high strength bolts as well as Nitinol superelastic SMA bolts. The connections are studied using component method in dual form. In this method, the components affecting the connections behavior, such as beam flange, beam web, column web, extended end plate, and bolts are considered as parallel and series springs according to the Euro-Code3. Then, the nonlinear force- displacement response of the connection is presented in the form of moment-rotation curve. The results obtained from this survey demonstrate that the connection has ductility, in addition to its high strength, due to high ductility of SMA bolts.
Spatial-Stochastic Neural Networks Model(SSNNM) is used to estimate long-term streamflow in the parallel reservoir groups. SSNNM employs two kinds of backpropagation algorithms, based on LMBP and BFGS-QNBP separately. SSNNM has three layers, input, hidden, and output layer, in the structure and network configuration consists of 8-8-2 nodes one by one. Nodes in input layer are composed of streamflow, precipitation, pan evaporation, and temperature with the monthly average values collected from Andong and Imha reservoir. But some temporal differences apparently exist in their time series. For the SSNNM training procedure, the training sets in input layer are generated by the PARMA(1,1) stochastic model and they covers insufficient time series. Generated data series are used to train SSNNM and the model parameters, optimal connection weights and biases, are estimated during training procedure. They are applied to evaluate model validation using observed data sets. In this study, the new approaches give outstanding results by the comparison of statistical analysis and hydrographs in the model validation. SSNNM will help to manage and control water distribution and give basic data to develop long-term coupled operation system in parallel reservoir groups of the Upper Nakdong River.
This paper aims to explore the mechanical behavior and moment-rotation model of blind bolted joints between concrete-filled double skin steel tubular columns and steel-concrete composite beams. For this type of joint, the inner tube and sandwiched concrete were additionally identified as basic components compared with CFST blind bolted joint. A modified moment-rotation model for this type of connection was developed, of which the compatibility condition and mechanical equilibrium were employed to determine the internal forces of basic components and neutral axis. Following this, load transfer mechanism among the inner tube, sandwiched concrete and outer tube was discussed to assert the action area of the components. Subsequently, assembly processes of basic coefficients in terms of their stiffness and resistances based on the component method by simplifying them as assemblages of springs in series or in parallel. Finally, an experimental investigation on four substructure joints with CFDST columns for validation purposes was carried out to capture the connection details. The predicted results derived from the mechanical models coincided well with the experimental results. It is demonstrated that the proposed mechanical model is capable of evaluating the complete moment-rotation relationships of blind bolted CFDST column composite connections.
We investigated the operating characteristics of a flux-lock type superconducting fault current limiters according to the number of the serial connection each the superconducting element at the additive polarity winding of a transformer. This SFCL consists of two coils wound in parallel on the same iron core, and the secondary coil is connected to the elements in series. Operating characteristics can be controlled by adjusting the inductances and the winding directions of the coils. It turns ratio between the primary and the secondary coils is 63:21. The analysis of voltage, current, and resistance in serial connection each element was performed to increase the applied voltage of flux-lock type SFCL. When the applied voltage was 200/$\sqrt{3}[V_{rms}]$ with three elements connected in seres, the peak value of the line current increased up to 26,24[A]. On the other hands, resistive SFCL increased up to 36.35[A], under the same conditions. This enabled the flux-lock type SFCL to be easy to increase the capacity of power system.

We investigated the quench characteristics of a flux-lock type superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) depending on the number of the serial connection between the superconducting elements at the subtractive polarity winding of a transformer. The flux-lock type SFCL consists of two coils. The primary coil is wound in parallel to the secondary coil through an iron core, and the secondary coil is connected to the superconducting elements in series. The operation of the flux-lock type SFCL can be divided into the subtractive and the additive polarity windings depending on the winding directions between the primary and secondary coils. In this paper, the analyses of voltage, current, and resistance of superconducting elements in serial connection were performed to increase the power capacity of flux-lock type SFCL. The power burden was reduced through the simultaneous quenching between the superconducting elements. This enabled the flux-lock type SFCL to be easy to increase the capacity of power system.
High frequency AC (HFAC) power distribution systems delivering power through a high frequency AC link with sinusoidal voltage have the advantages of simple structure and high efficiency. In a multiple module system, where multiple resonant inverters are paralleled to the high frequency AC bus through connection inductors, it is necessary for the output voltage phase angles of the inverters be controlled so that the circulating current among the inverters be minimized. However, the phase angle of the resonant inverters output voltage can not be controlled with conventional phase shift modulation or pulse width modulation. The phase angle is a function of both the phase of the gating signals and the impedance of the resonant tank. In this paper, we proposed a pulse phase modulation (PPM) concept for the resonant inverters, so that the phase angle of the output voltage can be regulated. The PPM can be used to minimize the circulating current between the resonant inverters. The mechanisms of the phase angle control and the PPM were explained. The small signal model of a PPM controlled half-bridge resonant inverter was analyzed. The concept was verified in a half bridge resonant inverter with a series-parallel resonant tank. An HFAC power distribution system with two resonant inverters connected in parallel to a 500kHz, 28V AC bus was presented to demonstrate the applicability of the concept in a high frequency power distribution system.
