  • This study performs an investigative research on the shopping value of consumers who purchase fashion/beauty products using group buying social commerce among the types of social commerce and private shopping malls. We provide basic knowledge on consumer behavior using social commerce newly appeared as shopping channels. For the method, the research was performed by designing a sequential integration method of conducting quantitative verification after qualitative research. As a result of qualitative research, multiple shopping values have been shown as the common shopping values of consumers using two types of shopping malls. The dimensions are price, quality, convenience, interaction, information, reliability, hedonic and impulse buying values. A total of eight sub-dimensions have appeared due to performing quantitative verification on the shopping value of group buying social commerce. The dimensions are same as the results from the qualitative research. The shopping value of consumers who purchase fashion/beauty products using private shopping malls has been classified into seven dimensions (except interaction value).

  • 23 F/cc grade new type of high density activated carbon from crystalline green cokes type of mesocarbon microbeads has been synthesized by chemical and electrochemical activation. In order for these materials to have high performance, electrochemical behavior during electrochemical activation has been investigated by sequential voltage applying schemes. These results showed that the effective voltage for electrochemical activation was about 2.7~3.2 V irrelevant to applying voltage due to the decrease of surface activation of activated carbon with high specific surface area.

  • Odontogenic keratocysts (OKCs) are one of the most aggressive cysts in the oral and maxillofacial area because of their high recurrence rate and infiltrative behavior. In growing patients with OKCs, a radical treatment approach might cause numerous complications, including the disturbance of jaw growth and loss of the involved tooth. This case report describes successful comprehensive orthodontic treatment combined with marsupialization of the cyst in a young girl who exhibited an OKC with impacted teeth. The 10-year-old girl presented with an OKC extending from the mandibular symphysis through the left mandibular body, with ectopic impaction of the mandibular left canine and first premolar, as well as congenitally missing bilateral mandibular second premolars. Interestingly, spontaneous improvement of the positions of the ectopic impacted teeth, along with a reduction in the size of the cyst, occurred during marsupialization. The sequential use of removable and fixed appliances enabled orthodontic traction of the impacted teeth. The treatment outcome was stable at 2.5 years after the end of the treatment. We speculate that comprehensive orthodontic treatment combined with marsupialization can be an effective treatment strategy for patients with OKCs, especially when they are encountered in young, growing patients with impacted teeth.

  • Size-controlled lead sulfide (PbS) quantum dots were synthesized by the typical hot injection method using oleic acid (OA) as the stabilizing agent. Subsequently, the ligand exchange reaction between OA and thioacetic acid (TAA) was employed to obtain TAA-capped PbS quantum dots (PbS-TAA QDs). The condensation reaction of the TAA ligands on the surfaces of the QDs enhanced the conductivity of the PbS-TAA QDs thin films by about 2-4 orders of magnitude, as compared with that of the PbS-OA QDs thin films. The electron transport mechanism of the PbS-TAA QDs thin films was investigated by current-voltage (I-V) measurements at different temperatures in the range of 293 K-473 K. We found that the charge transport was due to sequential tunneling of charge carriers via the QDs, resulting in the thermally activated hopping process of Arrhenius behavior.

  • In this feature article, we briefly review the new methods we have utilized recently in the investigation of morphology and phase behavior of block copolymers. We first describe the chromatographic fractionation method to purify block copolymers from their side products of mainly homopolymers or block copolymer precursors inadvertently terminated upon addition of the next monomer in the sequential anionic polymerization. The chromatographic method is extended to the fractionation of the individual block of diblock copolymers which can yield the diblock copolymer fractions of different composition and molecular weight, which also have narrower distributions in both molecular weight and composition. A more detailed phase diagram could be constructed from the set of block copolymer fractions without the need of acquiring many block copolymers each prepared by anionic polymerization. The fractions with narrow distribution in both molecular weight and composition exhibit better long-range ordering and sharper phase transition. Next, epitaxial relationships between two ordered structures in block copolymer thin film is discussed. We employed the direct visualization method, transmission electron microtomography(TEMT) to scrutinize the grain boundary structure.

  • Cellular Automata is discrete dynamical systems which natural phenomena may be specified completely in terms of local relation. In this Paper we Propose noise removal and edge detection algorithm using a Potts Automata which is based on Cellular Automata. The proposed method is aimed to locally increase or decrease the differences in gray level values between pixel of the image without loss of the main characteristics of the image. The dynamical behavior of these automata is determined by Lyapunov operators for sequential and parallel update. We have found that proposed automata rules Present very fast convergence to fixed points, stability in front of random noisy images. Based on the experimental results we discuses the advantage and efficiency.

  • This study introduces an analysis and control method for the variation of neutral point current in a grid-tied three-level neutral point clamped (NPC) converter under various grid imbalance operating conditions. Various fault cases with unbalanced amplitude and phase are systematically categorized and described using a unified metric called the imbalance factor. The fundamental component of neutral point current is generated under grid imbalance cases. The pattern and behavior of this fundamental component of neutral point current highly depend on the imbalance factor regardless of the particular type of grid fault cases. The control scheme for regulating the negative sequential component of AC input current effectively reduces the size of the fundamental component of neutral point current under a wide range of grid imbalance cases. The control scheme will enable a grid-tied three-level NPC converter to operate reliably and stably under various types of grid faults.

  • In this study, the reduced system for the dynamic analysis is proposed and the selection criterion of the primary degrees of freedom is presented considering the relation between natural frequency and external loading frequency. A well-constructed reduced system can assure the accurate representation of the dynamic behavior under arbitrary dynamic loads. For selecting the primary degrees of freedom of the reduced system, we employ the robust two-level condensation scheme of which the reliability has been proven through previous study. In the numerical examples, the reliability of the dynamic analysis based on the reduced system is demonstrated through comparing with those of global system.

  • In this paper, the characteristics and load carrying capacity of square pocket surfaces on a slider bearing are discussed for the thin film effect by the square pocket slider bearing. To study the lubrication, a Reynolds equation is used in this paper for the analysis of the slider bearing characteristics with square pocket surfaces. For numerical analysis, the central differencing scheme finite difference method is used. In a slider bearing with square pocket surfaces, the simulation dependent parameters such as pressure and load carrying capacity of the bearing can be acquired from the independent parameters, the slope of the slider bearing and number of pockets on the upper slider. These results can be acquired by the programmed softwar,e and they can be analyzed and stored in a sequential data file for later analysis. Furthermore, their pressure and load capacity distribution can be displayed easily by using the developed program with the Matlab GUI.

  • Reduction schemes approximate the lower eigenvalues that represent the global behavior of the structures. But, they are not efficient to be applied to large-scaled problems because these schemes require considerable amount of computing time in constructing reduced one from the original large-scaled systems. In addition, the selection of the primary degrees of freedom might be localized to cause the excessive emphasis of the lower mode or lost of the important modes. In the present study, a new reduction method combined with the subdomain method is proposed. For the construction of the final reduced system the system of each domain subdivided into primary, slave and interface degrees of freedom. It is remarkably efficient and accurate comparable to full-scale system. Numerical examples demonstrate that the proposed method saves computational cost effectively and provides a reduced system which predicts accurate eigen-pairs of global system.
