  • There are a number of reported instances of actual pipeline rupture during power line faults caused by melting of the pipe wall. This type of hazard was considered to be among the most serious of AC effects on pipelines in an international survey, comparable to the personnel safety hazard. Moreover, resistance coupling is not only a risk when the pipeline parallels a power line but also when they cross. One method of minimizing the effects of resistive coupling is by maintaining an appropriate separation distance between the pipeline and tower. This paper investigate the experiment for separation distance between the powerline earth and pipelines.

  • The current drive in an MOSFET is limited by the intrinsic channel resistance. All the other parasitic elements in a device structure playa significant role and degrade the device performance. These other resistances need to be less than 10%-20% of the channel resistance. To achieve the requirements, we should investigate a methodology of separation and quantification of those resistances. In this paper, we developed the extraction method of resistances using calibrated TCAD simulation. The resistance of the extension region is also partially determined by the formation of a surface accumulation region that forms under the gate in the tail region of the extension profile.

  • The main objective of this study is to improve abrasion resistance and wet slip resistance of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) by blending with ethylene-propylene-diene monomer rubber (EPDM) or polybutadiene rubber (BR) for the application of the footwear outsole materials. With addition of 10 wt% of EPDM or BR, TPU/EPDM and TPU/BR blends exhibited higher NBS abrasion resistance, tensile properties and wet slip resistance than TPU. However, with further increasing content of EPDM and BR, abrasion resistance and tensile properties of the blends decreased. Improvement in abrasion resistance and tensile properties with 10 wt% of addition of EPDM or BR may be due to better microphase separation of TPU.

  • The general view of the division of affiliates of many large corporations is a reorganization of the governance structure, and the smooth division of affiliates is often well wrapped up in a beautiful breakup. However, the parties to the breakup are not only the owners of the company, but all employees as well. Separation of the owner family can be done with joy and good feelings, because they are separated according to the will of the owner family, and each becomes the owner of the company. As Commitment decreases and turnover behavior appears, it is necessary to take a strategic approach to members, along with consideration. This study looked into the recent separation of LG Group's affiliates based on this point of view. To this end, we focused on the case of LX Hausys of LX Group, which was separated from LG Group. To this end, through a meeting with the person in charge of LX Hausys, the company's response to the division was investigated, and FGI was conducted for retired and current members. As a result, it was confirmed through the person in charge that no appropriate measures were taken due to the separation of the company. Through FGI with the retirees and incumbents, the psychological resistance of the members and the decrease in organizational commitment and the increase in turnover intention was confirm.

  • The current driven in an MOSFET is limited by the intrinsic channel resistance. All the other parasitic elements in a device structure play a significant role and degrade the device performance. These other resistances need to be less than 15% of the channel resistance. To achieve the requirements, we should investigate the methodology of separation and quantification of those resistances. In this paper, we developed the extraction method of resistances using calibrated TCAD simulation. The resistance of the extension region is also partially determined by the formation of a surface accumulation region that forms under the gate in the tail region of the extension profile. This resistance is strongly affected by the abruptness of the extension profile because the steeper the profile is, the shorter this accumulation region will be.

  • This paper analyzes the backgrounds of the standards for protection against electric shock in Global Technical Regulations (GTR) of Fuel Cell Vehicle (FCV). Targets on research were high voltage criteria, safety current, isolation and grounding resistance, time limitation, energy, adequate clearance, and test procedure. Based on human impedance and effect of current in IEC 60479-1, safety of human was examined. Then, isolation and grounding circuit model of FCV were analyzed theoretically. The results give several suggestions: touch voltage less than 25V, AC energy less than 0.0813J, separation considering middle finger length, grounding resistance less than $0.2\Omega$, maximum AC ground voltage of 1V (rms), and isolation resistance between earth and electrical chassis. In MATLAB/Simulink environment, error characteristics of isolation resistance measurement procedure using internal DC sources were analyzed under variations of internal resistance of voltmeter and isolation resistance.

  • Viscous flows behind transom stern are analyzed based on CFD simulation results. Stern wave pattern is often complicated due to the abrupt change of stern surface curvature and flow separation at transom. When a ship advances at high speed, whole transom stern is exposed out of water, resulting in the so-called 'dry transom'. However, in the moderate speed regime, stern wave development in conjunction of flow separation makes unstable wavy surface partially covering transom surface, i.e., the so-called 'wetted transom'. Transom wave formation is usually affecting the resistance characteristics of a ship, since the pressure contribution on transom surface as well as the wave-making resistance is changed. Flow modeling for 'wetted transom' is difficult, while the 'dry transom modeling' is often applied for the high-speed vessels. In the present study CFD results from the RANS equation solver using a finite volume method with level-set treatment are utilized to assess the topology of transom flow pattern for a destroyer model (DTMB5415) and a container ship (KCS). It is found that transom flow patterns are quite different for the two ships, in conformity to the shape of submerged transom. Furthermore, the existence of free surface seems to after the flow topology in case of KCS.

  • To separate and recover of VOCs, supporting membranes using PEI were prepared by phase separation method and it was coated with PDMS to prepare PEI-PDMS hollow composite membrane. To investigate characteristic of prepared membrane, pure gas permeability was measured using oxygen and nitrogen, the stage cut and permeance property with feed concentration were evaluated using xylene, ethyl benzene, toluene and cyclohexane. Also, to check solvent resistance on VOCs, stress-strain property of membrane with immersion time in solvent were measured by DMA. The permeance value of $O_2$ and $N_2$ showed 63 GPU and 30 GPU respectively. Permeated VOCs concentration was decreased with increasing stage cut. But, conversely, recovery efficiency that was increased with increasing stage cut. As a result of DMA test, the stress and strain were 11.93 MPa and 13.52%, respectively.
