Efficient Driving Pattern of the Railway Vehicles for Driving Energy Saving (주행에너지 절약을 위한 철도차량의 효율적 열차주행 패턴)

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient driving pattern which consumes less energy for driving from one station to next. Three driving patterns for four sections in the No. 5 subway line of Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corp. are compared for the energy consumption, the maximum speed, and the powering time. It turns out that the powering time and the maximum speed should be decreased as much as possible in order to achieve the efficient driving.

  • This paper presents capability calculation methods for regenerative inverter in DC electrified transit system. The proposed method uses a train performance and power simulation tool to calculate the regenerative power generated in the DC substation and decide the capability of regenerative inverter. The capability of regenerative inverters for Seoul subway line 5, 6, 7, and 8 has been calculated.

A Nonlinear Programming Model for Evaluating Public Transit Fare Structure (비선형설계모형을 이용한 대중교통요금구조평가)

  • A nonlinear programming model for evaluating public transit fare system is proposed. The model finds transit fare level and the structure that maximizes gross fare-box revenue subject to constraints on minimum ridership and the form of the fare equations. It is assumed that the demand for transit is a function of fare and its own-fare elasticity. It is assumed that the demand for transit is a function of fare and its own-fare elasticity. It is also assumed that the conditions including fare of the other modes are unchanged ; i.e., partial equilibrium. Empirical study has been performed for the case of Seoul subway system. This study includes an analysis of fare structure ; flat system and distance-based fare system. Sensitivity and comperative static analysis for elasticity has been also demonstrated.

  • 최근 서울에서는 날로 심각해지는 교통난 해소대책으로 현재 운행중인 1-4 호선 외에 5-8호선의 공사가 한창 진행중이다. 이러한 지하철 통과 인접지역 에서는 지하철 운행 진동으로 인하여 상부나 인접 건물에 진동 영향이 우려 되는 경우가 많으며 이에 대한 대책으로 지하철 궤도부를 방진하거나 상부 의 건물을 지하철 구조체로부터 진동 절연하는 방법이 검토되고 있다. 이러 한 대책 수립시에는 대책후의 진동예측이 필요하며 지하철의 진동특성 입력 데이타 확보가 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 필요성에 따라 서울의 2호 선 강남역과 교대역, 3호선 교대역 궤도부 주변 바닥과 벽체, 플랫폼, 표파는 층의 바닥에서 지하철 통과시의 전후, 좌우, 상하방향의 진동을 측정 분석하 여 추후 지하철 진동저감대책 수립에 기초자료로 제시하고자 한다.

  • This study highlights the theme of safety leadership in railway organization, conducting empirical analysis on the relationship between safety climates, safety leadership, safety behavior, and accident. The empirical test results based on questionnaires received from 223 train drivers working at A subway firm indicated that relationship between CEO's safety philosophy, and safety communication showed a significant positive effect on boss's safety leadership. And boss's safety leadership showed a positive influence on observation belonging to safety behavior, which in turn showed a significant negative relationship with mistake. However, mistake, observation and violation were shown that there are no relationship with accidents.

  • More than 7 million people use the Seoul metropolitan subway network daily. This number tends to increase due to the increase of oil price. Indoor air quality of electrical multiple unit (EMU) is strongly affected by outdoor air quality, however, indoor thermal comfort is subjected to heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) system of EMU. In general, air temperature, humidity, air velocity, surface temperature, and illumination are key parameters affecting thermal comfort of passenger. It is known that the well-designed HVAC system should improve the thermal comfort of passengers and should increase the energy efficiency of HVAC system also. In this study, we analyzed the thermal comfort of advanced EMU developed by Korea Railroad Research Institute by using the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) in order to find the optimum HVAC system which can improve thermal comfort of passengers with a minimal energy use.

  • 본 논문에서는 휠체어 이용자들에게 서울 여행 시 필요한 정보를 제공하는 시스템을 구현한다. 이 시스템은 휠체어 이용 시 용이한 대중교통인 지하철역의 편의시설 및 서울 여행지들에 존재하는 부가시설들의 위치에 대한 정보를 제공한다. 방대한 여행정보가 제공되는 상황에서도 상대적으로 이를 누리지 못하는 장애인들에게 본 논문은 여행 및 이동에 필요한 정보를 제공할 수 있다는 특징을 가지고 있다.

  • 대한민국은 고령화 사회에 접어들었다. 본 연구에서는 서울시 지하철 무임승차를 대표로 선정하여 서울시의 노인인구 특성, 지하철 이용행태를 고려한 정책대안을 모색함으로써 지하철 적자 문제의 해결 방안을 제안하였다. 공공 데이터를 통해 통계분석을 하고, Linear Regression 분석을 통해 결과를 예측하였다. 예측한 결과에 노인의 소득수준을 반영하여 손실 비용이 어떻게 변화하는지 비교하였다.

A Study Over the Relationship Between Apartment Prices and Distances from Expressway interchanges (In the case of the Seoul Beltway) (고속도로 인터체인지 이격거리와 주변 아파트 가격의 관계연구 (서울외곽순환고속도로 영향권을 중심으로))

  • The present study is performed to identify the relationship between apartment prices and distances from freeway interchanges. To collect consistent data and to simplify the sphere of the influence, the Seoul beltway was selected as the target road. Two sides of the Seoul beltway such as the inner side and the outer side are partitioned following the whole beltway line. The maximum distance to be taken care of in data collection was 6.0km from freeway interchanges. Results show that there exist consistent patterns between apartment prices and distances from freeway interchanges. In detail, if the apartment is located on the sphere of the influence, it is shown that a) the prices are increased overall b) the prices are low at very near of interchanges c) the prices are increasing up to the points of about 2.0~4.0km from interchanges d) the prices are decreasing after the points. Additionally, it is shown the pattern observed was following approximately a quadratic curve which is different from the liner curve obtained from the similar study over the sphere of the influence in railway(Subway).

  • This study investigates the diurnal pattern of transit ridership in the Metropolitan Seoul area. For the purpose, we use a weekday Smart Card passenger transaction data in 2005. Eleven passenger trip patterns are found from 2.74 million passengers moving on the Metropolitan Seoul Metro system. Among them, we analyze 2.4 million passengers blonging to five trip types having only one or two transaction record during a day. A total of 357 metro stations are classified to four types according to their diurnal pattern of passenger riderships. We analyze the relationships between passenger's trip chain patterns and subway station's diurnal transit ridership patterns. The result shows that the ratio of the number of passengers of particular time of the day is hierarchically related with trip chain patterns.
