Three simple carboxamides incorporating the phenethylamine moiety have been isolated from strain XR-NC of a symbiotic bacterium Xenorhabdus nematophilus. Their structures were identified by spectroscopic data and synthesis. The compounds exhibited significant cytotoxicities against human cancer-cell line, viz. the gastric adenocarcinoma, colon adenocarcinoma and lung adenocarcinoma.

Korean folk medicine ‘Bong Seon Wha Dai’ has been used to cure constipation and acute gastritis by meat. The botanical origin of the crude drug has never been studied pharmacogostically. To clarify the botanical origin of Bong Seon Wha Dai. the morphological and anatomical characteristics of Impatiens species growing in Korea, i.e. I. balsamina L., I. noli-tangere L.. I. textori Miq., I. textori Miq. forma. pallenscens Hara were studied. (omitted)

This study is about a literary man, Suheon Lee Jung Kyeung(AD. 1599-1678) and his poem 'Ohdae Eubuga' written in the language of the common people(RiEu) of Cho Seon dynasty. The outline of this study are as follows: 1) The work has been written at Ohdae, Cheongdo Gum, Kyeung-sang Do, in AD. 1656 that is the 7th year of King Hyo Jong of Cho Seon dynasty. 2) The work was written in the Korean and Chinese characters, in the form of the ancient Korean ode (Sijo). The twenty odes are composed of 'Eubuga' with 14 poems and 'Eububyeulgok' with 6 poems. The pleasureof his public life was well represented in these poems. 3) The work is included in his original manuscript 'Japhwewonjib' written in AD. 1664, the 5th year of King Hyeun Jong of Cho seon dynasty. 4) It seemed that the work has been mostly influenced by 'Mooyee Gugokga' of Joo Hee(AD. 1130-1200) of South Song dynasty, 'Eubusa' of Nongam Lee Hyeun Bo(AD. 1467-1555) and 'Dosan Sibyeegok' of Toegei Lee Hwang(A.D. 1501-1570) of Cho Seon dynasty.

The purpose of this study was to clarify how adolescent recognize their father according to the father demographic characteristics. The analysis was performed for 400 students in Seoul on the basis of two measuring tools that were adolescent's father image criterion developed from Seon hwa Cho, Myung seon Choi(2004) and semantic analysis criterion from Osgood(l957). Father image were inclined to friend when their father was younger. Adolescent were recognizing their father as a friend, advisor, and able man when their father had high level profession. On the other hand they felt father as a difficult being to make intimate relationship when their father had management occupations. Christian and Buddhist fathers were recognized as a advisor. Catholic and Christian father were showing less tired aspect rather than Buddhist and atheism father. Catholic and Buddhist fathers were recognized more active person. Adolescent were recognized their father as a friend, advisor, and able man when their father were high educated person.
