선형 전기접촉으로 계측해상도가 향상된 저항성 변위센서 (Resistive displacement transducer enhanced measurement resolution by electrical line contact)

  • Although variable resistance displacement transducer is widely applied for its technical simplicity, electrical point contact limits measurement resolution (precision). The present study introduced roller shaped structure for electrical line contact. Proto-type transducer was developed and measurement characteristics were compared with a commercialized product. When the displacement was varied with steps of 5 mm, 1 mm, and down to 0.1 mm, the correlation coefficient between resistance and displacement decreased lower than 0.9 in the commercialized product while the proto-type transducer maintained values higher than 0.99. Therefore, the measurement resolution was enhanced by approximately 10 times. Since manufacturing also seemed easier, the present results would enable more accurate and less expensive manufacturing of variable resistance displacement transducer.

정확한 평면운동 측정을 위한 광 변위센서의 성능분석 (Performance analysis of the optical displacement sensor for accurate in-plane motion measurement)

  • 본 연구에서는 특수한 상황(미끄러짐 발생 및 회전관성이 부하로 작용하는 경우)에서의 회전 엔코더 기반 측정방법의 단점을 극복하기 위하여 광 변위센서(ADNS-9500)를 사용한 비접촉식 변위 측정방법을 제안하였다. 정확한 변위 측정을 위해 데이터 수집 보드와 랩뷰를 활용하여 실험적으로 광 변위센서의 성능을 분석하였으며, 반복실험을 통해 실험조건(측정방향, 속도, 가속도, 높이, 표면 재질)에 따른 광 변위센서의 성능특성을 파악하였다. 성능실험 결과, 광 변위센서를 사용하여 정확하게 평면운동을 측정하기 위해서는 광 변위센서와 지면(대상 물체의 표면)과의 높이를 2.4 mm-3.2 mm로 일정하게 유지시켜야 하며, 각각의 축 방향, 속도, 표면 재질을 고려하여 민감도를 수정하여 변위 계산식에 적용해야 하는 것을 확인하였다.

하부요로계 폐색 진단용 요류음 계측 시스템의 구현 및 평가 (Implementation and estimation of the urophonography measurement system for diagnosis of Lower urinary tract symptom)

  • A sensor and measuring system were implemented to measure both uroflow and urophonography signal during urination for diagnose the lower urinary tract symptom. The implemented system was composed of the uroflow sensor using the load-cell, the urophonography measurement sensor so as stethoscope type, pre-processing part for sensors signal detection, amplifier and filter, system control parts and PC measurement program. A simulator of the lower urinary system that is experimental equipment implemented for evaluate the developed system. The two signals were measured using implemented system and analyzed these signal by means of time domain and frequency domain for extraction of the characteristic parameter which can most effectively reflected by the occlusion of the lower urinary system. Furthermore two signals were measured and analyzed with the subject of 5 healthy adult for clinical application possibility of the implemented system. As a result, the most influence bandwidth of effect according to occlusion of the lower urinary system is $253{\sim}282$ Hz of the urophonography signal.

Implementation of an Inductively Coupled EM Probe System for PD Diagnosis

  • In recent years, various types of partial discharge (PD) methods such as capacitive, inductive, electromagnetic, and acoustic coupling techniques have been developed for diagnosing rotating machines. An electromagnetic (EM) probe, which is an inductively coupled type of sensor, is required for detecting corona and internal discharges during off-line tests. In this study, a new technique for enhancing the measurement sensitivities for corona and internal discharge based on an EM inductive position sensor is proposed. An EM probe that winds wires around horseshoe-shaped and cylindershaped ferrites as helices is designed and optimized for the implementation of off-line PD monitoring of the stator winding of a rotating machine. The measurement system based on this design is implemented, and it is verified from the results of the experiment performed in this study that the probe provides similar performance as existing commercial products.

  • Systematic quality control based on real time data is required for modern factories. This study introduced a method of predicting punch wear in the trimming process of automobile parts. Based on monitoring data of the mass production process using a bolt-type piezo sensor, it was shown that precursor symptoms of die wear could be predicted from the change in load pattern with respect to production volume. The load pattern that changed according to the wear of the die was verified by numerical analysis.

  • This paper describes a real time reliable monitoring method and analysis system using wrist type oximeter for ubiquitous healthcare service based on IEEE 802.15.4 standard. Photoplethysmograph(PPG) is simple and cost effective technique to measure blood volume change. In order to obtain and monitor physiological body signals continuously, a small size and low power consumption wrist type oximeter is designed for the measurement of oxygen saturation of a patient unobtrusively. The measured data is transferred to a central PC or server computer by using wireless sensor nodes in wireless sensor network for storage and analysis purposes. LabVIEW server program is designed to monitor stress indicator from heart rate variability(HRV) and process the measured PPG to accelerated plethysmograph(APG) by appling second order derivatives in server PC. These experimental results demonstrate that APG can precisely describe the features of an individual's PPG and be used as estimation of vascular elasticity for blood circulation.

YSZ 전해질을 이용한 농담전지식 자동차용 NOx센서 (Potentiometric NOx sensors for automotive exhaust using YSZ(yittria stabilized zirconia) electrolyte)

  • Two kinds of new NOx sensing mechanism was proposed and examined. One of those was potentiomtric sensor based on the measurement of decomposed oxygen from NO using YSZ porous diffusion barrier and Pd catalytic electrode. The sensor based on decomposed oxygen measurement responded to the range of 300 - 1000 ppm NO in $N_{2}$ environment and the sensitivities were coincident with theoretical values at 700 and $800^{\circ}C$ but the decomposition rate depended on gas flow rate. The other sensor was equilibrium potentiometric type using $Gd_{2}O_{3}$-nitrates solid solution as sensing material. The sensor using $Gd_{2}O_{3}$-nitrates solid solution was suitable for NOxxsensing at $700^{\circ}C$ in 5 % oxygen and the sensitivity was 19.3 mV/decade. However, long term stability of the sensing material at high temperature was not sufficient.

생체신호계측을 위한 체내 이식형 무선송수신 시스템 개발 (Development of a transcutaneous system for implantable bio-signal measurement)

  • In order to measure bio-signals, it is desirable to build a fully implantable system which connects directly to neural pathways or body tissue. A design scheme for fully implementable measurement system is proposed in this paper. Consisting of an implanted module and an external system, the proposed scheme delivers power and data between the two modules. The external module sends power via inductive link using a simple H-bridge type oscillator. Also, the implanted module sends measured data to the external system utilizing R/F communication technique at a frequency of ISM band. A stable communication and operation is achieved as the two types of channels are separated. Implemented in a compact size enough to be implanted in human body, the system exhibits good performance in experimental studies.

  • This paper presents a development of the Data Logger System to transmit the outcome of the waterlevel measuring instrument using the pressure sensor by means of the CDMA network. In or order to set up the real time monitoring the waterlevel measurement system, we have designed the waterlevel sensor, communication terminal and repeater, and data logger. Furthermore, its application for the GIS(Geographical Information System) with management sever system and software solutions have also been developed to minimize the property damages from the flood disaster which occurs every year in the river.

U-헬스케어를 위한 패치형 체온 측정 시스템 (Patch Type Body Temperature Measurement System for Ubiquitous Healthcare)

  • 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 기술의 발전과 함께 의료와 접목되어 시간과 공간에 구애받지 않고 언제 어디서나 건강관리를 받을 수 있는 새로운 형태의 의료서비스인 U-헬스케어가 많은 관심을 받고 있다. U-헬스케어를 실현하기 위해서는 일상생활 중 안정적인 생체정보 모니터링이 필수적이며 사용자를 구속하지 않으면서 생체정보를 간편히 측정할 수 있는 생체정보 측정 모듈이 연구되고 있으며 이를 통해 생체정보를 모니터링 하고자하는 시도들이 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 U-헬스케어를 위한 무선센서네트워크기반의 소형, 경량의 온도 센서노드를 제작하고 패치 형태로 신체에 부착하여 사용자의 활동에 불편함이 없이 실시간으로 체온을 측정하고 모니터링하여 이를 활용할 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다.
