A study on the location recognition method of containers in container terminal utilizing wireless sensor network (무선 센서 네트워크를 이용한 항만 터미널내 컨테이너 위치결정 방식에 관한 연구)

  • There are some trials to adopt the RFID/USN technologies at container terminals for effective terminal operations. In this paper, we propose a realtime location recognition method for stacked containers under the assumption that each container has a wireless sensor node to measure the RSSI values from neighbor nodes. We develope an RSSI based location algorithm with performance evaluations by RSSI measurement and application program implementation.

  • In this paper, we suggest Location Recognition System using Sensor Network; it distinguishes locations. Furthermore, this paper proposes Intelligent Navigation System which presents the proper route for the user. INS evaluates the user's preference, tendency and environmental state using Sensor Network Module and current driving information. This system also uses Soft-computing method to learn and infer the person’s preference and tendency. This paper defines Intelligent Assistance Module (IAM) which is a connector in between a user and a robot; it is portable. All in all, we created a basic intelligent robot, Location Recognition System, and Environment Sensor Modules; we verified the proposed algorithm through computer simulations.

  • It is very important for the robot to recognize its position to accomplish numerous tasks and to go to the goal. In this paper, we suggest Location Recognition System to distinguish robot's locations using land-mark and the odometer in the environment of sensor network. All in all, we created a basic intelligent robot, Location Recognition System, and Environment Sensor Modules; we verified the proposed algorithm through computer simulation.

  • It is not easy to identify the location of mobile terminals based on drones in the mountainous area, the densely populated urban area, or the space where mobile terminals can easily move by using equipments or modules that can recognize the location of sensors or mobile terminals with LBS (Location-Based Service). However, although the performance of GPS has developed due to the development of technology, it is still widely used in position recognition systems using GPS modules in the sea and onshore, and there is much room for more utilization. Currently, most of the existing sensor networks need to send at least three location information messages to mobile terminals with location information that a plurality of mobile base stations depend on GPS. However, location recognition of mobile repeaters that maintain a certain movement speed using acceleration sensors is necessary for efficient communication network connection.

  • In this paper, we proposed indoor positioning system with improved accuracy. The proposed indoor location measurement system is based pedestrian location measurement method that use the embedded sensor of smartphone. So, we do not need wireless external resources, such as GPS or WiFi signals. The conventional methods measure indoor location by generating a movement route of pedestrian by step and direction recognition. In this paper, to correct the direction sensor error, we use the common feature of the normal indoor floor map that the indoor path is lattice-structured. And we quantize moving directions depending on the direction of indoor path. In addition, we propose moving direction measuring method using geomagnetic sensor and gyro sensor to improve the accuracy. Also, the proposed step detection method uses angle and accelerometer sensors. The proposed step detection method is not affected by the posture of the smartphone. Direction errors caused by direction sensor error is corrected due to proposed moving direction measuring method. The proposed location error correction method corrects location error caused by step detection error without the need for external wireless signal resources.

  • This paper presents a multimodal sensor system that can determine the location of house space by analyzing the postures and heights of the residents. It consists of two sensors: a tilt sensor and an altimeter sensor. The tilt sensor measures the static and dynamic postures of the residents, and the altimeter sensor measures their heights. The sensor system includes a Bluetooth transmitter, and the server receives the measured data and determines the location in the house. We describe the process determining the locations of the residents after analyzing their postures and behaviors from the measured data. We also demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed system by applying it to a real environment.

  • Ubiquitous location based services (u-LBS) will be interested to an important services. They can easily recognize object position at anytime, anywhere. At present, many researchers are making a study of the position recognition and tracking. This paper consists of postion recognition and user identification system. The position recognition is based on location under services (LBS) using a signal strength map, a database is previously made use of empirical measured received signal strength indicator (RSSI). The user identification system automatically controls instruments which is located in home. Moreover users are able to measures body signal freely. We implemented the multi-hop routing method using the Star-Mesh networks. Also, we use the sensor devices which are satisfied with the IEEE 802.15.4 specification. The used devices are the Nano-24 modules in Octacomm Co. Ltd. A RSSI is very important factor in position recognition analysis. It makes use of the way that decides position recognition and user identification in narrow indoor space. In experiments, we can analyze properties of the RSSI, draw the parameter about position recognition. The experimental result is that RSSI value is attenuated according to increasing distances. It also derives property of the radio frequency (RF) signal. Moreover, we express the monitoring program using the Microsoft C#. Finally, the proposed methods are expected to protect a sudden death and an accident in home.

  • The majority of existing falling recognition techniques provide service by recognizing only that the falling occurred. However, it is important to recognize not only the occurrence of falling but also the situation before and after the falling, as well as the location of the falling. In this paper, we design and propose the falling notification service system to recognize and provide service. This system uses the acceleration sensor of the smartphone to recognize the occurrence of a falling and the situation before and after the falling. In order to check the location of falling, GPS sensor data is used in the Google Map API to map to the map. Also, a crosswalk map converted into grid-based coordinates based on the longitude and latitude of the crosswalk is stored, and the locations before and after falling are mapped. In order to reduce the connection speed and server overload for real-time data processing, fog computing and cloud computing are designed to be distributed processing.

  • The USN is important in technique, unmanned observation using wireless network camera, detection technique that use intrusion detection sensor. But these encrypted data transmission and processing technique through sensor network, method of the staff's location recognition and arrangement aren't serviced still as a integrated system in facility security industry. This paper proposed that improve facility management, the staff present recognition and system efficiency using RFID, USN and wireless camera.

Development of a Collapse-sensing Phone and Collapse Recognition Algorithm (낙상 감지 폰의 개발과 낙상판단 알고리즘)

  • To deal with the emergency of the solitary aged people, we have developed a collapse-sensing phone, in which a collapse sensor, a GPS receiving chipset and a CDMA sending chipset are included. The general cellular phone is somewhat expensive communication device using sound and characters, but the collapse-sensing phone is a cheaper and popular version. If the collapse sensor recognizes a certain of collapse of the aged people, CDMA sending chipset will send the location of the phone which is received from satellite by GPS receiving chipset. In this paper, a collapse recognition algorithm which is developed by using much experimental data, will be introduced to explain how to recognize the real collapse from fast sitting or immediate standing after collapse. Once a true collapse is ecognized, the phone-ID and the coordinate will be sent to the server of administrative office via CDMA network. And the position of emergency will be displayed on the GIS with the rescue center.
