  • MANET constructs a network that is free and independent between sensor nodes without infrastructure. Also, there are a lot of difficulties to manage data process, control etc.. back efficiently from change of topology by transfer of sensor node that compose network. Especially, because each sensor node must consider mobility certainly, problem about energy use happens. To solve these problem, mechanisms that compose cluster of cluster header and hierarchic structure between member were suggested. However, accompanies inefficient energy consumption because sensing power level of sensor node is fixed and brings energy imbalance of sensor network and shortening of survival time. In this paper, I suggested intelligent clustering mechanism for efficient energy management to solve these problem of existent Clustering mechanism. Proposed mechanism corresponds fast in network topology change by transfer of sensor node, and compares in existent mechanism in circumstance that require serial sensing and brings elevation survival time of sensor node. Please put the abstract of paper here.

  • Wireless sensor networks encounter energy saving as a major issue as the sensor nodes having no rechargeable batteries and also the resources are limited. Clustering of sensors play a pivotal role in energy saving of the deployed sensor nodes. However, in the cluster based wireless sensor network, the cluster heads tend to consume more energy for additional functions such as reception of data, aggregation and transmission of the received data to the base station. So, careful selection of cluster head and formation of cluster plays vital role in energy conservation and enhancement of lifetime of the wireless sensor networks. This study proposes a new mutation chemical reaction optimization (MCRO) which is an algorithm based energy efficient clustering protocol termed as MCRO-ECP, for wireless sensor networks. The proposed protocol is extensively developed with effective methods such as potential energy function and molecular structure encoding for cluster head selection and cluster formation. While developing potential functions for energy conservation, the following parameters are taken into account: neighbor node distance, base station distance, ratio of energy, intra-cluster distance, and CH node degree to make the MCRO-ECP protocol to be potential energy conserver. The proposed protocol is studied extensively and tested elaborately on NS2.35 Simulator under various senarios like varying the number of sensor nodes and CHs. A comparative study between the simulation results derived from the proposed MCRO-ECP protocol and the results of the already existing protocol, shows that MCRO-ECP protocol produces significantly better results in energy conservation, increase network life time, packets received by the BS and the convergence rate.

  • Wireless Sensor Networks, especially supporting for surveillance service, are one of the core properties of network-centric warfare(NCW) that is a key factor of victory in future battlefields. Such a tactical surveillance sensor network must be designed not just for energy efficiency but for real-time requirements of emergency data transmission towards a control center. This paper proposes efficient clustering-based methods for supporting mobile sinks so that the network lifetime can be extended while emergency data can be served as well. We analyze the performance of the proposed scheme and compare it with other existing schemes through simulation via Qualnet 5.0.

  • In wireless sensor networks (WSNs), hierarchical clustering is an efficient approach for lower energy consumption and extended network lifetime. In cluster-based multi-hop communications, a cluster head (CH) closer to the sink is loaded heavier than those CHs farther away from the sink. In order to balance the energy consumption among CHs, we development a novel cluster-based routing protocol for corona-structured wireless sensor networks. Based on the relaying traffic of each CH conveys, adequate radius for each corona can be determined through nearly balanced energy depletion analysis, which leads to balanced energy consumption among CHs. Simulation results demonstrate that our clustering approach effectively improves the network lifetime, residual energy and reduces the number of CH rotations in comparison with the MLCRA protocols.

  • Many of the recent performance evaluation of clustering schemes in wireless sensor networks considered one sink node operation and fixed sink node location without mentioning about any network application requirements. However, application environments have variable requirements about their networks. In addition, network performance is sufficiently influenced by different sink node location scenarios in multi-hop based network. We also know that sink location can influence to the sensor network performance evaluation because of changed multipath of sensor nodes and changed overload spots in multipath based wireless sensor network environment. Thus, the performance evaluation results are hard to trust because sensor network is easily changed their network connection through their routing algorithms. Therefore, we suggest that these schemes need to evaluate with different sink node location scenarios to show fair evaluation result. Under the results of that, network performance evaluation results are acknowledged by researchers. In this paper, we measured several clustering scheme's performance variations in accordance with various types of sink node location scenarios. As a result, in the case of the clustering scheme that did not consider various types of sink location scenarios, fair evaluation cannot be expected.

  • In this paper, we propose two clustering schemes to prolong lifetime by improving unbalance of energy consumption among sensor nodes in wireless sensor networks. The first proposed scheme make up clusters according to density of sensor nodes in initial stage of wireless sensor networks for reducing energy consumption of wireless sensor networks. After the initial stage, a cluster header is selected by a relay scheme that determines a cluster header of next round among cluster members. by estimating of energy consumption of cluster members for improving unbalance of energy consumption among cluster members.

  • In this paper, we constructed a sensor network environment where various sensors are used. Then, we evaluated the performance when this environment adopted existing clustering algorithms that are designed for only single type sensors network. In our experiments, we considered two different types of the networks. In the first, all nodes are equipped with identical sensors. In the second, all nodes are equipped with three different types of sensors. We measured performance variations of several clustering schemes in accordance with sensor data accuracy, sensor node resource depletion timing, amount of available energy, node isolation ratio, and network lifetime. According to our performance analysis, we proved that existing clustering algorithms are partially inefficient to maintain the various-sensor network. Consequently we suggest that a new algorithm is required to take aim at the various sensor network.

  • Wireless sensor networks consist of numerous nodes equipped with small-sized and limited calculation capacities and storage space as well as low-capacity batteries. Therefore, the key issue is to reduce energy consumption of sensor nodes in sensor network environment. To reduce energy consumption of sensor nodes, consideration must be given to decreasing frequency of messages transmitted by nodes. Also, considering network application, security of sensor networks is also considered important. Therefore, this study proposes a key distribution scheme in dynamic clustering model. The dynamic clustering model used for this scheme is very effective in extending life span of wireless sensor networks. The proposed scheme provides improved security compared to the existing key distribution scheme by applying grid-based key distribution scheme and allocating polynomial s hare to the nodes forming a cluster. Also, comparison was made with the previously proposed grid-based, location-based and cluster-based key distribution schemes to illustrate the advantages of the proposed scheme.

  • Recent application range of sensor networks is becoming diverse. It means collected sensor data types are becoming diverse too. These sensor data have their own characteristics. Thus achieving energy efficiency, existing sensor network management policy consider their own characteristics. However, it is inefficient to apply the existing network management schemes for controlling such kind of data at the same time. Because, existing network management schemes considered one type of data only. Therefore, we propose a novel routing scheme that is able to efficient energy conservation through effective data controlling on multi-sensor application environment.

  • In this paper, we present a virtual laboratory platform (VLP) baptized Mercury allowing students to make practical work (PW) on different aspects of mobile wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Our choice of WSNs is motivated mainly by the use of real experiments needed in most courses about WSNs. These experiments require an expensive investment and a lot of nodes in the classroom. To illustrate our study, we propose a course related to energy efficient and safe weighted clustering algorithm. This algorithm which is coupled with suitable routing protocols, aims to maintain stable clustering structure, to prevent most routing attacks on sensor networks, to guaranty energy saving in order to extend the lifespan of the network. It also offers a better performance in terms of the number of re-affiliations. The platform presented here aims at showing the feasibility, the flexibility and the reduced cost of such a realization. We demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithms that contribute to the familiarization of the learners in the field of WSNs.
